  1. Well actually i've had this problem before. And many other problems. And you would be suprised how browser issues affect the game. And his computer specs are way too good to have problems with emulations, and page flipping and clipping. He never had this problem before, that means something changed. (i doubt he had to mess with subspace settings before to avoid FPS lag.) The Monitor is a good call. What is your FPS at? are you looking at the number while you play? Or just observing your ship skip on the screen? Problem solving is done by process of elimination, try to eliminate related things. Sound can slow down games easily, and even crash them. There doesn't have to be proof that it's the sound card or even graphic card. Just proof that you eliminated all possibility of them causing the problem.
  2. If the zones merged, it would eventually end up that everyone would play mostly one or two of the zones. All the other zones/pubs/events would eventually become abandoned. The reason for this is, because despite what you think, there is a zone which IS more fun, and better than the rest. (Much like no one is truly equal and for every human there is always someone better) When the zones are merged, you will find out what zone that is. And watch the whole population divert to it eventually. Every other zone would just be an event or secondary to this one zone. It's a good way to assimilate people if that's what you want. It's a bad idea to bring zones together, it's better to bring people to the game. And it's smart to merge Development teams. But zones being seperate is a good thing. People stay in seperate zones now, not only because the zones are seperate, but the community is located at the zone. If the community was all merged, i wouldn't need to play chaos when i can chat easily and locate the same community in trench wars. (being merged into 1 zone) Yes it's possible for people to like many zones. It doesn't mean everyone will play every zone after a merge. It will all divert to one zone. You can test it though, im never against testing. If the trial works for a week, keep it running for two weeks, if everything is good, then keep them merged.
  3. Sound card or on board sound? I never used chrome, so if anything there is having adverse affects on the game, i won't know about it. How fast does your computer restart when you start it. (full functionality, no lag on actions etc) Is there anything else odd anywhere, in any other programs, or other discrepencies when using subspace/continuum? What are the last 3 programs you installed? (excluding continuum - or any games) And what are the last 3 games you installed?
  4. Uninstall your graphic driver, and re-install it. Even if it's up to date, things can become corrupted. Also What web browser are you using? If it's firefox, make sure you update it also. - Help - About Firefox - Check for Updates Then Update your Plugins in Firefox, go to Tools Addons Plugins Click the link on the top "Check to see if plugins are up to date" Update anything out of date Make sure Flash Player is upto date. The latest is Shockwave Flash 11.3 r300 (11.3.300.262) Also let us know of anything else running in the background while you are on Subspace/Continuum.
  5. Yes it's possible. I'll list some ways to do various things here. (These methods are for Windows 7) It's possible in XP, just i never looked it up, and it would be time consuming since i don't have XP installed on any usable PC's at the moment. To change your Computer Owner Name Method One Open windows Start Menu In the search field type Sysdm.cpl Click Change Enter your new Owner Name To change your Windows Username Your windows Username is the name of the account you use to login to Windows. This can be the Guest account, Administrator account, User account, or even the Windows 7 hidden Administrator account. It depends what you are using. Typically one way to create new username is to create a new user account, copy your Library over to it, (My documents, Pictures, etc) and delete the old User account. However this is time consuming. As well if you enabled the windows 7 hidden admin account, and are using it, it is not a Username you can change by going to the Control Panel, User accounts section. (where an option to change the account name exists in normal circumstances) So to change your user account in the fastest way possible, that will work in every situation. Open Windows Start Menu In the search field type secpol.msc The window that opened should be called Local Security Policy (if not open it) In the left Pane find Local Policies then Security Options. In the right Pane, Under the Policy Tab Look for all headings starting with 'Accounts' Select the one with Rename Administrator Account Right click it, select properties And rename your Windows account If you need anything else, send me a PM.
