ADSL usually connects the same way as cable. The RJ12 cable connects to a modem or similer device that transfers the data to a NIC card with an RJ45 jack; which both the wireless and cable routers should have. If that's too technical then just read this: Why do you have more than 1 router?

An ok solution not recommended as it may cause problems. Make sure that your drivers are up to date for your video card and moniter. Then see if updating directx changes anything.
