I dont think Ricebowl is qualified to say anything about 17th, unless its changes to the forum. DKR much the same, except without even that. I dont think it would really work, however, isn't it possible for the bot to adjust any ships settings as well as warp it to a coordinate? I don't think anyone would be pleased if you removed any of the current ships. Could make for an interesting event at anyrate.

i think its useful in a well-defended base, but otherwise so weak. even with bounce in a base, can be hunted no prob. almost as hard as jav to rec with. mostly useless. free x would be nice again.

is it true? can i join feroce? i dont have to be as funny as delic?

Just wanted to add that site redesign is great. easy to use, looks pretty. a redesign has been long overdue. and to kentbrockman: you have worse taste then naedhaha and his oversized signatures, now go stand in the corner.

Your maths works great in theory, but....no. Can you get 153.8 kills? No. Okay lets apply an accurate version of Ricebowls maths to another record of mine, since on the 5404 one I reset at about 2000 bty so I could get a better rating/average. 136:0 136x15=2040 136x25=3400 4016-3400+2040=2656 =ricebowl pwned under old settings. But besides that, the old settings were different, more shields, weaker javs, blah blah.

Yep. everythings gone to -*BAD WORD*-. reccing is 100 times more easy, but less satisfying with the points per kill system (no more 1/2 bty+flagpoints=points per kill). And getting shields so often just makes everything that much more re-*BAD WORD*-ed. Maybe its a fluke, but i had greened 6 shields by 400 bty. Why does mike change the settigns when he barely even plays? Why not discuss and discover solutions based on the current (well, now...previous) settings, instead of reverting to something which was probably changed for a reason in the first place? Or why not at least provide us with some sort of reasoning behind the changes? (updated news.txt?) And FFS why not change something that needs changing, like the map. (p.s. DKR, I have a big monitor, well not that big. 1280x1024 desktop resolution. I just like to keep the space on my monitor clutter-free, and your sig, well...reflects you quite accurately <_< .)

Umm, from you DKR: *** I like the current warbird, its a good match against the jav, and the rotation and bomb thrust are perfect. I think a good jav pilot will still win anyway, but at least its a closer match then vs the old wb. The old terrier with its inane amount of reps, and x-radar just seems wrong. I would like the settings spiced up a bit, shark, warbird and jav imho are perfect as is though (although I wish the shark had a thor). And the 1x1 weasel is an original idea (change anything but its size), as I said earlier. I know everyone disagrees with me, but why not state my opinion anyway . ...The map also needs a change. Perhaps to be less accomodating for the weasel, or moreso. But make use of what 17th has unique over other zones, and somehow encourage people to flag or play ball more.

You are whining about the settings and skill level of 17th, when your actually not playing the game as intended, with a ship that is meant to be used in bases, out in the open, and your having trouble killing the weasel - a ship whose worst matchup is the warbird or lanc?

I dont think we need two weeks, just a friday. And DKR, If anything stays it should be the weasel. Everyone whines about originality. Thats original. Your getting owned by it, so theres the skill. I think its about time you adjusted to the new settings. A lanc losing to a weasel indoors is a laughable offense. I think the weasel is one of the LEAST used ships in the zone (along with lanc maybe?). And probably the most under-mastered one, perhaps along with a good terrier or lanc. And Lanc is probably the best ship for hunting weasels too. So I have no idea what your on. At least Delic seems to know what hes talking about.

Hmm I did actually play with the old settings enough to get the hang of a few ships. Namely terrier, shark and warbird. I believe I did rather well in a flagbattle match. I bet I bet I could rec almost as well with the old settings anyway. I like the 1x1 weasel a lot. When you are talking 'unique', 17th to my knowledge is the only populated zone that makes use of the ability to have the smaller ship. Sounds like the weasel is a bit of a challenge for you then DKR. Maybe there is skill after all in the new settings. I'm sure people were just remarking how the new weasel sucked in another thread....That is one ship that hardly anyone can use, but when they can its pwnage. *** When a lot of vets talk about the setting difference, they make it out like EVERYONE will love the old settings. Thats true Delic. But I've been playing these settings since I've played 17th. It may not be the old 17th, but its the 17th I like. I think it requires skills. When I duel some players in 17th, I will win 100% of the time. If I vs the handful of decent players that there is, I will lose 100% of the time. Hence skill. Not SVS level of skill, but still skill. Go look at Chaos too. That is what true skill is. See many new players in Chaos? Not likely. The learning curve is too high, and the population too low. I think current 17th has a reasonable balance for vets and noobs. *** I've tried playing with the older settings - little about them appeals to me at all. Many of the ships are annoying to handle, and too unbalanced. I think the addition of the little weasel is also very unique to the current 17th. Many people act as if everything will be okay if the older settings were restored. I severely doubt it. You would upset both the newbies and people that have grown accostomed to the new settings. *** Why not try to restore the old settings one Friday, or after a score-reset for a day or something? wonder what would happen apple. the weasel is a tad smaller then the other ships. my vote is an attach bty of 35 for all. that means everyone will need the same amount of greens, and they'd help everyone else. keep things simple. i think the bounce price is fine, although i wish there was more for sale in general. ...and about playing soccer? umm the points are too low. you always end up with more points if your on the team with 12 flags. solution? either the bases have flags as well as goals, or the soccer points are worth more. i have no idea why the game ends up being one thats all about soccer, when all the points lie in the north base. delic, i like the current settings! shhh you <_< .
