I confirm and support Joe Jr.'s suggestion that something urgently needs to be done for users (re)installing Continuum. Personally, I also experienced a related phenomenon just yesterday, by trying to log in from a windows laptop that I had not used for months to log in to Subspace. I was able to log in, but then the only zones that showed alive for me were Trench Wars and a couple of other zones, with no clear way of getting to Chaos/League Zone. Admittedly, cross-server chat worked, so IF (I do) someone has a friend who happens to be online at the same time on an old chat channel, they might be helped, but that's not an acceptable scenario, even to get old players to become active again. An element in EGO not playing 3v4 is that SFE offered them to postpone the match. The ref was informed. I hereby confirm that I consider it legitimate (and not technically problematic) to enable this match to be played on 'the other hour' timeslot this Sunday. Solar Hydro, Captain SFE(SFA)

On behalf of SFE (not as yet conferred with squad) I like the idea of playing matches against opponents for which the outcome of the match isn't a given. Therefore, I am more tempted by option 1.

Thank you col.1. Good suggestion. I followed it. I have a Shuttle XPS barebones system with their custom motherboard running a first-gen Corei7 chip. The Shuttle website only offers a very old audio driver. After checking on the audio chipset, I got Realtek's AC888 latest HD Audio driver (which does date back to 2011). Problem NOT solved but I'll keep looking for updates. As to FPS, I am down to about 30ish FPS at 1980*1200 from being maxed-out before. I therefore confirm that there is also a huge FPS hit when using Win8. See also my original post on emulation modes in Win8 which are even worse for FPS. Hoping for a solution soon! Solar Hydro

Hello all, I am running the Windows 8 Consumer Preview which was released this week. Continuum works, but there is no sound. I have now tested the following: a) Win 8 compatibility mode for Win 7, Win XP SP3, Win 95, to no avail (there are some other compatibility options which I did not test as I considered them implausible). I have no sound in any of these compatibility modes, and horrible FPS in all of them, except Win 7. As suggested in-game, running in administrator mode. This did not help. c) Toying in the Subspace options with sound quality. This did not help. I seem to recall that on the Windows 8 developer release in 2011, it worked fine including sound (I deleted that - so I cannot compare now). Any suggestions welcome. Sincerely, Solar Hydro
