I think at this point not lifting the ban will be dumber than the ban itself. Ozn should be free to play the next game with a full ship. Also, the next match between Critical Mass and Outlaws may just cause the Universe to implode. I'm starting to think this is all a PR stunt to generate spectators. Well played. The ban should be lifted, plain and simple. Ozn should be able to play this weekend. I sincerely doubt a player of his experience is going to try and cheat. He deserves the benefit of the doubt and should not be held responsible for a game glitch. A reflex decision to defend yourself that has no outcome or impact on the game does not constitute a 3 month ban. Does Caer honestly think ozn has the intelligence of a 2 year old? Does he think ozn thought the entire zone would somehow not notice or see him repel players away during a fight in an attempt to cheat? does Caer honestly think ozn thought he could get away with something like that? what kind of backwards and stupid logic is that? it's like robbing a bank on camera without a mask, ozn may be a dick head sometimes, but he's not retarded.

What intent? Ozn re-spawned, where he died, with 0 energy. I SAW IT. This is a known glitch to more than a few people - see the posts in this thread. He did not re-attach and purposely repel to disrupt the game. He defended himself from death, again. Get that through your fucking head. Nobody disputes he repelled. Again, HE DID NOT ATTACH. He had 0 energy, in the semi-finals, with bullets near him. It isn't hard to comprehend. Did the repel he used, at 0 energy, alter the game in any way, shape, or form? No. It had NO IMPACT. So NO IMPACT, NO INTENT. There is no discussion. Those are the facts. Caerbannog has banned my squad mate for a game glitch, masking it as him "breaking a rule" so he can't continue in the post season, against the very squad Caerbannog is on. That is a conflict of interest and blatantly biased. How can this league continue knowing full well how this guy reacts at the slightest QUESTION of impropriety? Where is hallucination in all of this? Where is passplay? Where is Ghost Ship? Why is this guy still in charge? Between this and my SS Marketing post, I am now fully convinced that all the issues with this game lay squarely at the feet of the people who run it. Ozn's story may have holes in it, however, the larger and more alarming reality is Caer's heavy handed judgement and dictatorial approach to leadership. If this were real life, Ozn's life less body would be hanging of a burning stake in North Korea. Caer is clearly power mad and relies solely on his own judgement to make decisions. That is what you call undemocratic and unethical form of leadership, a tyranny. How do you ban an active pilot, in a game whose population is suffering, without an opportunity to defend himself in front of a council of peers, for 3 solid month's during the playoffs? Especially when that pilot has the opportunity to impact the season. Caer is acting as the judge, jury, and executioner all in one. His actions were obviously emotionally driven, given the conflict of interest of being a member of the opposing team. Conflict of interest aside, Ozn deserves the respect from this league to be given a chance to present his case and defend himself. The decision to ban someone should be taken by a group of peers, not one, easily emotionally moved individual. This is ridiculous.

Sigh. World Cup Weekend. Why would anyone schedule games for this Sunday when most people will be in a bar?? SIGH SIGH SIGH.

There is something this game has going for it which few others games do: Simple controls + High Skill Curve + Low on computer resources. I have recently read many complaints about people not being able to play many of the games released on Steam due to hardware limitations. Many gamers seek games where they can feel challenged. Hypothetically: Take any of the top gamers in the world and pit them against a few of our best and they will feel a sense of frustration. This game takes some time to get used to, to learn, and to ultimately compete in. The skill curve is always rising. I have never felt a limit in Subspace. It is perhaps the most pure form of multi-player competition ever. It has no plateau. After almost 20 years, noone has mastered this game to the point of invincibility. On any given Sunday, anyone can die out and put their team in jeopardy. What this game lacks is Marketing. The basic and obvious problem is that noone knows about it. There is so much we can do to revitalize this game and build its population. 1. Spread the word: Get on Blogs, introduce the game. 2. Invite players to try it. 3. Promote the High Skill Curve: Entice people with how challenging it is, no matter how much of a good gamer they are, in this game.. they will have the impact of puppy ears. 4. Create a website sharing some of the history of this game, educating people on its long standing population, etc.. I am sure this is one of the most successful multi player games ever, if not the first multi player game ever. It does not matter how elaborate other games are, they all get boring eventually and require you to invest real money, or spend incredible amounts of time to compete in. Subspace has the high skill curve to curb all that enthusiasm and humble any individual. To anyone doubting the validity of this post. I rest my case with the following: Thoughts?

I decided against posting the log after-all. The player in question plays a lot and helps gets prac's going.... next time he abuses the bot, I will report it. He basically banned his entire time when one his players died out because he didn't want to play 3 on 4.

I found that these maps felt too much like Powerball maps. I wanted to press alt to alert myself to location of ball simply because of the seeming Goal post symmetry in both of them. I think the map should be almost chaotic, and have obstacles that can be used towards a tactical advantage at any given moment. With the second map above especially, pilots would get pushed to one of the "goals" and get pounded without having anywhere to run. Just my 2 cents.

Hey guys, I really like the idea of 9 or 12 death's as well, however, you raised some good points and I believe I have a solution. 1. Lowered / Mental Nerve Factor: After the initial death or two, the pilot who keeps dying spawns with no items, or loses a Rep on his second life, and has no reps on his 3rd life an onward. That keeps the pressure on that pilot as he will become the target. The goal is to reach 9 or 12 death's and the pilot with no items is the most advantageous way to do it. 2. Tactical element: Pretty much already addressed this in no.1. The weakest slot will be the empty ship.
