    SSC Biller

This isn't exactly addressing the point, but how do we have both a restricted biller and a zone called SSCI Penis? It reflects poorly on the system. There are plenty of jokers who have had an SSC zone in the past because they know someone. That's not to say that we should hand it out to all jokers regardless of if they know someone--if we purport to have a serious, merit-based system, it should be tough for anyone to get a billing slot. By and large, I believe the zones that have SSC billing deserve it. It's a tougher call to say how many zones have been left in the lurch by SSC. Having access to the SSC player-base would definitely encourage development.

  6. Dav: Kinases are involved in phosphorylation, right? I was |this| close to being a biology major, and at one time I knew a lot of what's in the "big book of biology" Alberts' Molecular Biology of the Cell, but since I've replaced that knowledge with lots and lots of maths. :-( 2pac: Man, I wish I could get it to work out to be paid for going to school. And you're right about it being a little bit of luck. In my opinion getting a "good" job is about 25% luck, 50% determination, and 25% skill (unfortunately). root: Go to your college's career center and see if they have any advice for you.
  7. Alcohol is a drug. When you ask deep questions like this, you're not going to find any answers. Sometimes you just have to be content with being.
  8. Unbuntu...is that like Ubuntu's archnemesis?
  9. I work in robotic research part-time, my full-time "occupation" is being a college student in mechanical engineering. Dav, what protein?
  10. Agreed. If you recall from the X-Men animated series, they try to lock Apocalypse up in some spaceship but he escapes and gets mad, I think.

  15. The situation is very bad. I'm in the LA area, where we are only experiencing the smoke from local fires, but I have family in an affected part of San Diego County. Multiple homes in their neighborhood have burned down, with the closest being only two houses away. As long as the high winds keep up, the fires are very tough to put out.
  16. Do we really want the Myspace general public on Subspace? This is coming from a Facebook user who of course looks down on Myspace.
  17. Well, I don't know about others, but school is keeping me extremely busy.
  18. Well I don't know about him, but that message would have gone straight to my spam folder.
  19. Don't take the job, seems bogus. Also, I would say not to put your resume online. You're way more likely to get a job you want by mailing cover letters + resumes to companies you're interested in.
  20. Add Continuum encryption so not just VIPs can use it. :-P
