  1. I thought ASSS was for linux only Wouldn't a *nix port of continuum be more helpful?
  2. Akai, did you do that?
  3. Basically. Not that Kairee Outback would ever have to worry about this sort of stuff
  4. Like any of you care about it anyway. So much for the discussion about the terrorism, we aren't even talking about Iraq anymore.
  5. Importing zone lists = taking c:[contininuum_folder_path]zone.dat Program parses through the list and gathers the ip's and zone names. Now you pick the zone you want to chat in.....
  6. X is bad, but I think I can live with it. I think X can remove lots of "problems we are having with Y." Is what he's saying.
  7. I need to actually have a copy of it to examine what it does.
  8. Its functional but here are a few suggestions: // should triger teamchat People in other frequencies should be shown as such. Allow the importing of the zones list, even if you can't get it to download from the biller. Allow moving between zones via a command.
  9. I got an amusing number of complains about my cloaker vulching when I've a) Not been cloaked or stealthed Had them running straight at me Don't try to rationalise the anti weasel hatred.
  10. I know I'm going to sound amazingly dense to people like numpf but I need to ask can't ANY piece of the client, even non-game bits, be open sourced? Can the frontend GUI that Mr. Ekted works on be open without exploits? I have a horrible feeling there is going to be a big ugly NO coming my way but there is no way in -*BAD WORD*- anyone is going to code the thing themselves. Its just such a shame seeing so many people that can code pieces of a client but there just isn't a method to pull it together.
  11. The addition of ship centered graphics can be used for lots of other things too...
  12. I think this is partly why the Chinese begand creating their own hardware... Mistrust of these western hardware monitoring methods. Who knows what sort of -*BAD WORD*- they stick into their little black boxes.
  13. FFS, here we go again.

    LAFF

    http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/text/har.php Pretty -*BAD WORD*- funny.
  15. Can someone clarify exactly which parts of the code can be open source and which parts must be closed source so we can at least produce a specification.
  16. Its not the same as stealing a yacht, because the owner doesn't lose the yacht. Its like someone cloned his yacht for free and now everyone in the neighbourhood can have yachts. Out there are pirate booksharing groups. They distribute via a variety of methods including p2p. The majority of its users are students looking for hard to find, out of print or limited use texts. Its a free library that helps people learn. People use it even when they have the book legally because its easier to quote from. Should p2p as a technology be killed off because these people are "stealing" hundreds upon thousands of pounds of copyrighted material even though they still obsessively collect their favourite authors, go to book signings and now have a wider range of reading? Should people be monitored on an individual basis and all big file transfers be held under suspicion just in case someone wants to download a song they heard off the radio or an advert on TV? I don't think so. What they should be concentrating on is working for a way in which fans can pay artists back, perhaps access global library of all major record labels in exchange for a yearly sum of money. It'd make marketting much easier and the charts much more accurate.
  17. Its all crap, do you think the american government is going to look at some stupid online pe!@#$%^&*ion and change its mind? If you're lucky they'll ignore it, if you aren't then someone (probably not even connected with the government) is going to add you on their list of people to target for abuse, perhaps worse. If you want to protest, go do something that'll actually make a difference. No use talking about it here and getting in a petty flamewar like Akai and Jin.
  18. Please note that the above are valid arguments as opposed to my personal beliefs. Philosophically speaking, I don't believe that information can be owned. Selling it is at your own risk and distribution is what it does best. All this prattle about P2P is really irrelevant. If people can steal without being caught then they will. The fact that in some ways the companies benifit is a nice sideeffect. The memes will spread. Silk: What does that have to do with anything?
  19. So his father wasn't a dictator before him. Islam, Judaism and Christianity are related. Judaism is the oldest and Islam the youngest. Mohammad grudgingly admits that both are valid seperate religions although he despised both of them. None of this is particularly relevant to the fact that civilian organisations have suddenly become valid targets and that threats have been directly issued to impartial third parties. Its not really a case of "my religion is better than yours". More, "lets blow up random targets so they have to spread the troops thinly".
  20. Give me a sample. I'm still doubtful. From your description it could be something like a trojan which spams out simple smtp stuff. The message itself could link to some pictures on the net but I don't see how it could spontaneously generate pictures and send it out. Doesn't download porn...
  21. Kirk your f*cking useless!
  22. Doubt its a virus. More likely someone is spoofing your address to send porn.
