We're in the biggest economic boom in 20+ years. What more do I need to say? Add that to the fact that we just had the largest attack on the US homeland *ever*, and the economy being like it is is no small feat. Of course he didn't sign that treaty. Do you know what it would mean if we had? That treaty allows countries to sell polluting rights to other countries. That's why the rest of the world signed it, BECAUSE THEY MAKE MONEY by signing. And get who they'd make that money off of? Yep, us. What do you think THAT would do to our economy?

Hahaha, thanks Dav and Polix for a good read. I loved how all of your statements were for hating him were untrue. I especially loved the part about "seperation of church and state" in your post, Polix. Everyone else seems to hate him personally.

Just a side note: Robin hood didn't steal from the rich. He stole from the government. His enemy was not the wealthy, it was the tax collectors. Just thought I'd clear that up, because no one seemed to know.

A socialist system leads to an exponential decay in the production level of a system. Eventually, this levels out at a baseline that is below the requirements for sustaining the population and something drastic happens to destroy the system. Just look at what has happened to any collectivist country in history. They're an unstable equlibrium. Positive reinforcement soceities are stable equlibriums.

We all (we meaning intelligent people, not the average politics board poster) know that his actions will lead to chaos and revolt/subjugation. I say we wait and let the inevetable happen. If the government falls to revolt, then we don't need to do anything. If it becomes a totalitarian dictatorship, we can use subtle force through the CIA to "take care of the situation". Either way, no direct action is required.

Last call for bases. If it's not in my inbox by the end of today, it's not getting picked.

I just uploaded all of the submissions I have received to ?go submissions. Don't panic, you still have till the 5th to get your base emailed to me. If your base is not on there, I didn't get it! It would be nice to get some more fire and ice tiled bases. *hint* *hint*

I'll give you guys until Midnight Feb 5th (Eastern time) to submit without worrying about the deadline. Sometime after that, I'll upload a new map with the bases I've chosen and announce the winners here. I may accept late entries, I may not. Don't count on it, though. Prizes will be awarded when the zone goes back online. If a joint effort wins, they get to split their prize however they like. I will not award extra to bases made by multiple people. By the way, multiple submissions are totally acceptable. You'll get to choose your reward twice if you win twice. If you winners want to, you may choose double of a single reward. For example, you could get 2x the money if you so desired.

I'm asking for bases because I suck at making them. So no, there is no official reccomendation.

UPDATE: for those of you who cannot open the public map in SSME, I uploaded a sector outline map to "?go sectors".

The final ship sizes are undecided. There will be one (and only one) 5x5, and nothing will be smaller than 1.5x1.5. I expect to have at least a couple of 2x2 ships. You can choose one of the three themes to make your base. I just ask that you not use more than one of the themes in a single base. It needs to fit into at least one of the sectors. The sectors are nearly the same size, so if it fits into one, it'll probably fit into another. It shouldn't take forever to get from the entrance to the flag room. Our flag timer was 180 at one point, so if it takes 2 mins to get all the way in, it's probably too big a base.

No 1x1 ships. Doors are bad near the flag room. If you feel you must add doors, put them at or near the entrance.

We're offering a contest for players with base making abilities. We're going to give out some very nice rewards, so if you don't feel you're the best base maker in the world you should think about submitting a base anyway. - The base must be able to fit a 5x5 ship all the way into the flag room. - Try not to mix the fire, stone and ice tiles in the same base. - Of course, your base must fit in one of the current sectors. - Submit your base on an otherwise blank map to brain@ssihosting.com. And, now for the good stuff! A winning mapper will be able to choose two of the following rewards: A sum of money (exact amount TBD) A sum of exp (exact amount TBD) A non-public item on one of their ships (A high power weapon or reactor) Their name on the base Good luck!

I moved it. It really has very little to do with Hyperspace.

The register button is in the top right corner of the page. Then, once you've done that, go back and press the edit tab at the top of the Hyperspace page, and edit it to your heart's content. Please write in the wiki in the third person. Feel free to add new topics to the outline that I created. I'll be looking on, adding things and verifying accuracy.

Please, register and add content to wiki.minegoboom.com/index.php/Hyperspace. I'll go through correcting mistakes. I'll probably end up filling in most of the history, too, as not many remember.
