People who aren't smart enough to install something sure as !@#$%^&* aren't smart enough to figure out an ASSS zone. You don't use ASSS if you're going to make a simple straight-forward zone. ASSS WILL support .39 and only .39 when it is released. Until then, it should be kept on .39pr1. I don't know that any other ASSS zones besides Hyperspace will be operational before that time, anyway.

It will obviously support .39 when it's released. At the moment, it supports .39pr1. I see no reason to change this. Anyone running ASSS is smart enough to install it, and no other zones besides mine are past the development phase. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that make this a moot point?

I've put a lot of effort into getting Hyperspace to work with .39pr1, and I'd prefer not to have to put a bunch of work into putting it back on .38 for no real reason. I didn't vote on the poll, I was too quick and pressed null vote. I hope you don't take a sample size of 5 to be an accurate cross section of ASSS players, though

TWCore is a Java based core, and should run on Linux or any other platform with a JVM. I have never tried it on Linux, but I cannot see why it wouldn't work.

/?sendfile has been wonderful for the players. They really love it. Let us not forget what Hyperspace did to gameplay, either. The transwarp system I used is 100% impossible under subgame. The buy system isn't easy with a bot, either.

I'll admit I haven't seen them in a while. I'll also admit to not having 30 players in the zone since about September. Glad to know they might be fixed, though

Anyone who's spent a great deal of time using the ASSS sysop commands will never ever go back to using the wimpy subgame ones. ASSS >> Subgame

Perhaps you've forgotten the lag coma bug? It's still around when you get about 35 players per arena. This prevents larger zones from hosting big events. Also, some zones have their players per arena cap set higher than 35.

It's fine with me if other zones don't use ASSS. It'll just take that much longer for them to catch up to me when I go back online.

I've done some consulting in the past with The Junky, and I've made it clear that ASSS will not yet support EG. That said, I don't know why you think it'll make or break it. Most newbies don't get scared away from software that can't handle 100 players. They get scared away because it's ASSS. ASSS is the most complicated peice of software in SS to install and configure. It's more complicated than MERV, TWCore and custom billing--combined. Most newbie zone owners can barely get subgame itself running. BUT, any newer zone that wants to be able to seriously compete in the next year will need to move to ASSS. There are some things that just cannot be done with bots.

I closed Hyperspace while I rebuild it from the ground up. We're the only zone using ASSS that's still around. BZ died, GTA never lived, and ASSS test zone hardly counts.

Agreed. I have no problem with gay sex beyond what I have with straight sex. The gay marriage question doesn't really involve gay sex.

All that really needs to happen is to get a better update.exe. Grel has already said he's sticking to pr1 until .39 comes out. And it was because of all the newbies complaining about not being able to play with .39pr1 that I bugged grel till he changed it.

I've never said it will cause economic collapse. Social, quite possibly, but not economic. And don't ask how I linked Europe to same sex marriage. YOU DID THAT.

In my opinion, Europe is dying. That help? The European economy has been slowing down. France and Germany are starting to fall off the world stage. Lets do a cost benefit analysis: What do Gays gain? Tax breaks. What does civilization lose? Another barrier between children and a total lack of morality. I've got an idea! Let's just lower taxes. Problem solved.
