  1. I'm gonna miss you guys. This forum closing is going to end an entire chapter of my life. Not many of you know or may care but to me, this game and its community were a part of my life, and it's leaving. I don't visit any other websites related to this game other than an occasional view over on the TW forums. This was my go-to viewer when I was bored. I never really posted because I didn't have anything of value to add to discussion. You guys are veterans to the backbone of this entire game's society. I don't think there's a better explanation to it other than that. Please feel free to top me. It's sad to see my connection to this community being severed. I don't have any reason to continue on to another website. So, farewell.
  2. Thanks Polix ^_^ Good luck in the future to everyone here, I hope everyone achieves their most wildest and craziest of dreams and achieves ultimate happiness. edit: u got a copy with transparent background?
  3. Can someone please animate this better than what I did? https://testsquadron.com/threads/animated-test-logo-please-improve-this-if-you-can.1968/
  4. This looks pretty cool. It feels as if there isn't enough viewing area though. Enemies are only on your screen for less than 2 seconds before they're off it again. Hard to tell if there are bullets/missiles coming at you. Perhaps lowering the max speed, but keeping the same acceleration so maneuvering is still simple and easy like in your video. How's it play with a controller? Any thoughts on putting it on console? Multiplayer? Co-op? Objectives? Bosses? Special opponents? - Large ships, small ships, fast ships, slow ships, strong ships, weak ships, powerful ships? Progression dialogue? "38% complete" ? Different levels/maps? Content in maps? Walls, obstructions, objects, structures, etc.
  5. who cares nowadays, post it
  6. Interestingly enough, if true, due to his current professional achievements, it would provide another reason as to why he hasn't updated the client (other than not wanting to).
  7. btw, this guy is amazing. I think you'd make a great fit for what he's looking for. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFLvfERKRPg

  10. jab, have you considered entering the ship building contest for Star Citizen? You get a money reward and your ship gets to be in the game! it's an ongoing thing too https://robertsspaceindustries.com/contest/the-next-great-starship
  11. I made a post on here a few years ago asking for assistance on an AHK script to help me get work done faster for the job I was at. I got tons of replies and very useful information. I even pasted my near-final version of the script (kept making changes and tweaks the more I realized it needed it). But, I can't find that post! According to these forums' search function, I've only made two threads, ever?
  12. Please have your orgasms. http://www.twitch.tv/archive/archive_popout?id=423478438
  13. RIP HS, so sad to see the server shut down after so long.
  14. No specific details on how the instances will work but hopefully it's similar to how jumpgate worked (it was quite fantastic actually) - Fly to a jump gate / warp gate to launch to another sector. Each sector is its own instance. Works pretty well if you ask me.
  15. Roberts Space Industries is the head title for this. Essentially, it's two games - "Squadron 42" is the single player campaign and "Star Citizen" is the open world (open universe?) online game.
  16. You honestly would have loved Jumpgate. It's a shame NetDevil was bought out by Gazillion and Gazillion shut the game down directly after purchasing NetDevil. It was torture watching it go slowly. First they fired all the staff of the game except for ONE person - he ran EVERYTHING - Server updates, GAME CONTENT UPDATES, billing issues, EVERYTHING! He lasted about 5 months solo, running the game by himself, until Gazillion had all the legal things sorted out to close the game. His handle was Istvan and is the absolutely most dedicated developer I've ever seen in history. Truly a legend.
  17. You're in luck, this is nothing like EVE's combat system. And you can board other players' ships, too, and combat the enemy player within their ship. In one of the 26 thirty minute episodes of "Wingman's Hanger" videocast (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVct2QDhDrB0sipIorv4skO-XR8bAO7Pp) they went a bit into how they are incorporating it - I'm not sure if guns will partake but it was definitely a possibility they said. And on-board combat will be possible. And you do pilot your own ship, as seen here in this demo, recorded, played and commentated by Chris Roberts himself: And when you're sitting in the cockpit - it's not just a basic HUD that pops up for you to utilize - it's parts of the actual ship's cockpit moving around and displaying system info. Info on scale in the game: Info on game physics: oh and you can open your cockpit and float around in space. As for missiles locking on - that's real-world technology here in the present. Will it be a 100% definite hit with a missile? That I'm not sure - but it would make sense if it were possible to out-maneuver the missiles like I was able to in Jumpgate. Here's a video of me playing jumpgate - using my 4 on-ship missiles (which were able to lock on, and the enemy maneuvered out of their trajectory) and lasers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6PvxbB66AE
  18. This isn't just a game, it's a space combat simulator, with a massively deep role play element. It's more than a game. It's a style. It's a personality. It's a whole universe. Things aren't added to the game just to be added. It's added so that it becomes a part of the universe. It's added not by developers, but by the people and corporations in the game. For instance, the new ship that was released, by "Origin Jumpworks" (a ship building company in the game)
  19. Yea mine came in about a week ago. I have no idea where to put it! Wallet? It's just sitting on my coffee table LOL
  20. lol. i love how nearly everyone in this game is always trying to come up with ideas on how to make this game thrive, and do nothing but tell other people to do it. so pathetic. go make something happen. you want to be a hero? stop trying to hold a position to claim the glory if something does happen, and just be that hero and do it. then watch it fail miserably as you know nothing about the youtube community. by the way - if you want to make a youtube video, just realize it will be a waste of time and will not work.
  21. people just have more stuff to do these days
  22. pm me ur email address, i'll get you two in contact
  23. u guys realize ps3 has native keyboard+mouse support, and the xbox can use keyboard+mouse with adapters like the XIM (of which I promote for on TwitchTV) edit: also, i'm pretty sure putting up a game on to the xbox marketplace costs something like $400,000 (and updates too) because microsoft has to review the code and go through testing or something
  24. Any web developers around? A friend of mine is wondering if someone can review some of his code to see if he's making any nooby mistakes? he's written a lot of code over a short amount of time recently btw hi old friends :]
