    PD glitch

Rare did not warn me. I was warned by Rivel, and stopped. Rare logged on a day or so later and banned me just because he felt like it. He even admitted that he did it 'just because I happened to log on as he was reading a msg about it'
  2. Mini is great. The devs of HyperSpace have ridiculous ideas that us players will just have to suffer through. Spoiler! --Click here to view--Every few months they get a new random 'crisis issue'. A few resets ago it was 'spam'. This mythical 'spam' was somehow 'bad' for the zone, so items were given a money cost. It doesn't matter that it's just a money drain and people still use items exactly the same - 'spam' is cured and we're all saved, right? Then last reset it was 'bountying'. Somehow 'bountying' was 'bad' for the zone, and we all had to suffer through the ammo system debacle. Now bountying is just plain off in bases and ineffective/rare in center. The only real place to get high bounty in center is the mini. Guess what? The new random 'issue' is how much the mini is 'ruining the zone'. Nevermind that alot of people like it and there are very few 'mini haters', and those who dislike the mini never explain why or give valid reasons. Nevermind that HS's population has dropped significantly thanks to multiple terrible resets, so that basing almost never happens, and that the mini is the only chance most people have to base these days. Nevermind that ships 3, 4, and 7 can only center in the mini and nowhere else. The mini is 'ruining the zone', so it's gotta go, right? We're actually having fun, why do the devs have to screw with what players are having fun with? It's popular, therefore it must go! At this rate, it looks like a few resets from now it's there won't be anything fun left at all.

    PD glitch

And just to be clear, I'm not calling for everyone to be the same, or any of the other ridiculous exaggerations you richies use to defend yourselves. I am calling for the nerf or removal of a few particular items that are so high in cost that only people who play constantly can use them, and so powerful that they can completely disrupt the game if one a-hole so chooses. Why should Fat Mouse or Omni be given the ability to completely disrupt gameplay for others if they so choose, considering that they choose to disrupt gameplay often and get jollies off of making people unhappy or quit entirely? Think about it. And don't listen to the richies. They are the only ones that defend themselves when it comes to this. They all say the same things: leave if you don't like it, grief us right back, play 24/7 like us, and so on. Only problem is, all of those options lead to a zone that is lame or dead. Think about it.

    PD glitch

3 posts from rich people in a row all saying the same thing. I think I just won this argument, and it's immediately obvious to everyone else that you guys really do function exactly the way I said. Between emit's retarded kiddie screaming, mij telling people to go play another zone, and these gems: Thanks Everything wrong with HyperSpace's rich a-holes can be summed up with this quote from omni:

    PD glitch

lol omni I only seem annoying to you because you're in the 'empowered' group that is allowed to do whatever they want and dominates the zone with imbalanced items, and I'm one of the few people who actually speaks out against the poor design that lets you have that power. I'm 100% convinced that the griefing people like you and fat mouse inflict on the rest of us drops the population significantly. Do you know of anybody that LIKES IT when Fat Mouse uses his ad + tw warbird to come at a team's flank over and over for 20 minutes until he finally brickwarps their lanc out of a flag game he's not even participating in? Or when Hatemail (Pity.) continually coffins teams that are barely inside a base? Fact of the matter is that you super rich people don't need to play like the rest of us. You powered your cash up by playing all the time, and now you don't need cash, so you don't care if you disrupt the game for everyone else. I don't know about you personally omni, but I know Pity and Fat Mouse actually enjoy causing others annoyance very much. In PM conversations FM's actually told me he gets the most fun out of causing people to quit Hyperspace entirely. You really think the zone's design should cater to these a-holes? As for Rare trying to be fair, he does not try at all. I've been banned almost a dozen times now, and not once for a reason that I would ban for if the roles were switched.

    PD glitch

Aside from the fact that it's a silly glitch that just gets you killed, it's mainly the fact that I stopped after being warned by Rivel 'if you do this again you'll be banned'. I stopped, and then later when Rare got on he banned me anyway. Also, noone else has been banned for this, and other people have been doing it far more. Am I the only person on this zone who thinks that mods shouldn't be allowed to have personal grudges, like in every other game in existence? Rare has actually gone so far as to use mod commands to kill me once when I raped him and took 7 flags from his team, preventing a win. Guarantee you he'd never pull that on his precious omni or fat mouse, who he lets grief people off the zone entirely day in and day out - but nooooo, gar firing a couple EMPs needs banned for the good of the zone! Doesn't matter that he stopped when warned, or that there are no rules written anywhere, or that everyone else was doing it.

edit: bah who cares, we all know mods are unfair / uneven, forget it
  8. Don't give me that 'this is not the place for that' bs, just give me a reason please. I didn't do a damn thing.
  9. I love the minibase. I don't know if you've noticed, but centering in HyperSpace is extremely boring. The minibase is the only thing that breaks the monotony. Please, for the love of god, don't take it out. In fact, make it better. Get rid of that stupid safe, and put thor-proof walls all around it.

    BAD staffing

No, every post is constructive criticism about a problem with the zone. The fact that I'm right and they're just too lazy to do anything about it is usually what pisses them off, especially when it's clear that the devs and mods ARE the problem. Tell them how every other game in existence has rules for mods to keep them neutral if not nice, while HS is full of a-hole admins that talk crap and insult other players while lording their admin powers over people they don't like. The only thing they'll say back when you tell them they've probably driven alot of people away is 'ROFL!! We don't care'. It's really not common sense when there are no warnings and penalties are unevenly enforced. I guarantee you a player like omni could do that PD thing OP is talking about and get a good laugh from the admins and share a brew with them, while the OP gets banned with no warning - and how dare he ask why he was banned!

    BAD staffing

lol don't get me started on how asinine the mods are in HS. I spent much of the last reset in a series of bans for the most ridiculous reasons. First one, I logged on as 'Arnk Dylien' and sent one message as a spoof: "Arnk Dylie> Ok guys, I admit it, this reset is horrible and we'll be reverting. I also apologize for my crappy attitude." The zone got a huge kick out of it but I got banned for a week. Ok, I can understand that. Arnk's ego got bruised. But then six days later I log on Gar from my laptop and start playing, figuring my ban is up because I WAS ABLE TO LOG ON. Rare bans me again for 'ban evasion' (wtf). Three more bans after that from Rare for completely made up reasons. I didn't even play for a month yet I'd log on after a ban and there Rare'd be banning me again because he felt like it. None of these rules are listed anywhere, and none of them are enforced on anybody except people the mods don't like or don't know. Guarantee you Unix could spoof Arnk once and nothing would happen.
  12. Just give it to the person with the most expensive ship and most money already and save yourself alot of time ;p

    Changes

Great change. I logged on (friday night) and was actually able to play
  14. I could certainly design a working client-end bot to attach to lancasters and fly around shooting. It might even be fairly simple. I just don't think anyone has 15 computers to run them.
  15. On the problem of population... Why not create and implement bot-controlled ships that simulate players? They don't even have to be skilled to facilitate a game. I was thinking that if pop drops below 10 in a pub team, bots join to fill it up to 10, and those bots just attach to any lancasters in their team and then they proceed to go after nearby flags or enemies. If there are no lancasters, they sit in safe. This entire system functioning only during times that SHOULD be populated (e.g. not 5 am when privs will try to abuse it).

    Changes

Dr Brain, I know you don't do random changes for no reason. However, you should take your own advice and give the changes a few days to see what happens. You may think pop is bigger, but, like others have pointed out, the ratio of spec players to actual players increased dramatically. The zone's top priv players have a tendency to sit in spec all day waiting for their chance to jump in and steal the flags & the game. They weren't doing this before, because they had to play pub. I think it's going to take them awhile to return to their old ways, or simply return to the game period, but nothing has fundamentally changed about the game so there's no reason to believe things won't go back to the insanely frustrating days when privs overlorded the game from spec 24/7 and came in to dominate or grief whenever something fun was going on.
  17. Gar

    Changes

Um, no. The reason the privs are 'killing' the zone is because GOOD PLAYERS GO TO PRIVS. If we were to organize a pub, increase our skill and trick out our ships to beat the privs, we would become good, and then - GO TO A PRIV! I have no idea why people like Emit think there are magically 12+ good people available to 'muster the strength' to organize a pub. I know that if I had the ships and money and teammates to organize correctly, I'd go to a priv, too. We all would. Unfortunately, that effect is what makes HS dead. Everyone scatters into small teams, raising the required population for HS to be 'alive' dramatically. While privs were gone, 14 people in the zone was a guaranteed 7v7. Amazing. Throw privs in, it turns into 2v3v6v3. Nothing happens. THINK! *slap*

    Changes

I don't want to stir up trouble because mods are so quick to ban me, but I do feel this is almost hilariously and blatantly obvious. I joined with 0 exp and played before and after the lanc changes for an hour or two and made 75k cash and was having a great time basing with the whole zone, which was rocking. The moment, literally THE MOMENT priv freqs were enabled, the basing evaporated like fog blown off your window by hot air. Both pub freqs instantly died off to 3 or 4 people each flying around at random in the center while a SEVEN PERSON PRIV immediately grabbed the flags and ran and hid, like they usually do. After they won, it was pretty much over for the zone. I've been logging on every so often all day and it's always the same: a couple people on pubs randomly flying around, and a large priv running, hiding, overpowering any chance of anyone else doing anything, and winning while 50% of the zone is in spec afk or bored. The zone was great enough that someone who thought he'd never play again (me) came back, and the instant you re-enabled privs it universally went down the crapper and the zone was consistently dead thereafter. How can this even be real and not a joke, that priv freqs will stay when they're such a bad idea?
  19. Nobody's whining. It's more of a checking-in to see that the zone with the most potential still hasn't fixed its issues. By the way, number one on the list of issues is a-hole mods that talk crap to players. I'm sure you're aware of that, however. But what I was saying is not that there is a best build or any builds were copied. I'm saying that past a certain point, money-invested wise, it doesn't matter what you do or buy. The range of available power from items just isn't large enough. Sacrificing anything for an exceptional number in a certain stat is a huge waste. You know what I saw on the ships of rich always-online people like unix, f3ar-evil, and that guy whose name starts with a k that basically ran away in center all the time? The same balanced crap as poor people. Carnots and such. This isn't necessarily a bad thing - it means that they were so tough to beat because they were skilled. It just means the ship aspect in HS is mainly just a timesink. There's not much you guys can do though. Guns, bombs, and armor are made only marginally differentiated because of the ability to vulch and spam. Does it matter what bomb you're using if ten teammates are firing bombs? Nope. Does it matter what gun you're using as long as it's yellow and there's a ton of bullets flying around? Not really. Armor, too, won't make much difference when you smash into a wad of bullets. Sublights don't make much difference because of afterburners. Energy makes a ton of difference, but recharge doesn't, thanks to the small minimum-maximum range. And finally, this post won't make much difference, because everyone here has a max two sentence attention span and the mods are completely unable to consider ideas other than their randomly chosen vision. Oh well.
  20. Ah, Hyperspace. I used to make whole excel spreadsheets on stats and builds to try to make the best 'secret cool' build possible, until the authorization server went down and I logged on everyone else and realized they all had the same freaking build, and there's nothing cool, secret, or interesting about ships in HS. Every ship has one best build (with a little leeway) and every ship does only one thing well. It's mainly a timesink / money grinding game which is fun only as long as you don't visualize the end-game and realize that once you have all your lame 3 million dollar items your ship still functions exactly the same, just a tiny bit better, and you have nothing left to do. Er, that's why I quit =)
  21. 9. Teenagers forgot their ritalin and can't handle reading for 5 minutes, and you wonder how they ever got through school.
  22. Oh yeah, they're gonna get on editing out this pointed and specific very scandalous sentence
  23. worst at!@#$%^&*ude ever.
  24. Yeah really - and it'd be great if they got rid of that stupid safe too, to prevent griefers who fly in there on your team then switch. And if they made fields unuseable there too, that'd be just dandy. It'd almost be a mini hyperspace base-where-privs-aren't-gods.
  25. lol every time I bounty in mini and get over 400 bounty or so Unix either ad cloak sharks in to COFFIN MAKER THE MINI or sits at the nearby ammo depot and thors over and over endlessly. One time he thor'd for 20 minutes before I finally got noob'd Overkill? And yet I'm the one getting endless attention from mods for 'disrupting' gameplay.
