open beta starts at like midnight gmt on the 1st. but the game is pretty much a piece of shit. the interface is horrible, even tho ppl have been complaining about it for months... like nothing has changed. "enter" is the action key - pretty rough when you move with wasd. there also is no option to remap them. if you plan on playing it on the PC, you'll definitely want to use one of the console controllers. even beyond the interface it's decidedly mediocre i think rift: planes of telara will be better. i believe you can still sign up for the beta at riftgame.com

I've been too busy playin Warhamma' to play Spore. =( Anyone here actually play the game? It's been getting decent-good reviews (avg 86% on gamerankings).. To me that means that it must suck pretty bad since hyped games are usually given the benefit of the doubt (daikatana withstanding)....
