I'm banned? And I'm pretty sure I was offline when it happened?
Syrith replied to CDB-Man's topic in Hyperspace
Hey, I'm banned with that same ID too (with the same details). -
ESET Smart Security now.

I had falcon missile which turned into a MOAB on my lanc before.

You need to 'chain' repel to get past a good bombline with prox/shrap effectively. Too bad pubs aren't coordinated enough.
-
Actually, if you don't rep, the team stays back and moves out of the blast radius, hoping it'll stop.

I'm not saying that all Americans have a carefree attitude about their children's education, it's just that the (vast) majority seem feel that way. Even my Grade 12 AP Chemistry teacher couldn't care less of what her children grew up to be. To paraphrase her statement, "They have ample opportunity to go down whatever path they wish, I've provided them with all they need." I personally feel that such a relaxed view is hurting your people's futures (of course, feel free to do so, you're only hurting yourselves). By the time US (along with other countries with similar mentalities) realizes the severity of the problem, it may be too late (assuming global nuclear war doesn't break out before then). Ironically, the thing that holds back many Chinese children is the lack of funds for their education (they may have to work many years before they've saved enough), while thats not as much of a problem for Americans (pre-recession anyways).

So you're going to wait until someone successfully ports and owns your team before you use antiwarp? Or will you just wait until they warp back to the safezone constantly so they can thor spam you all day? Money is no excuse, AW is one of the cheapest upgrades and XRadar is not much more. Both are under 100 exp. As for bomblines, they are the scum of HS and everything, but repelling 3 bombs out of 50 is still leagues better than repelling 0 bombs out of 50. You're not just saving yourself, you're saving your teammates so they can get up there and repel some more and make some progress, maybe lay a brick or shoot off their own bombs to break up the defenders. Unless they repel the bombs/thors into the team... which happens surprisingly often.

Oh, and I'm in Canada (hi Hakaku). My point was that basically a 9th grade student knew more math than (probably) most of the Grade 12 students taking the math courses (Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors) here. Well, if they can learn that stuff quickly, why not other skills? They certainly have some 'extra' time (especially when they move). When the person I was referring to moved here, they were quite shy (or just quiet), but now I've observed that they've made a lot of connections and are participating in many things around the school. P.S. The large differences in mentality towards education definitely affect how well students from different locations do in school. I think that Americans have become too relaxed and careless about their children's education and future, while the Chinese are constantly pressuring their children to succeed in order to defeat the competition (foreigners mostly.. I know firsthand) and improve on their living conditions (since many of the parents grew up in worse than average conditions, they just want their children to have better lives).

Elementary school math is a joke (in North America... places like China are several years ahead). While I was in Grade 10, a new student from China came to my school in my grade (so Gr. 9 math done) and got perfect on the Grade 11 diagnostic exam and aced the Grade 12 one.

Exactly. I'm still here, just waiting for the end of my semester to start resurrecting MK. Anyone want to host? I'll probably use subgame with the last bot build I got until I can convert everything to ASSS.

A paperweight, webcam, or a model of a zeppelin or bridge. Or one of those Wii remote sensors.

Move to Hong Kong or Singapore, then we'll see...

Open Continuum client and a chatnut client, or two chatnut clients.

Buttons on a keyboard?

Get String of Pearls and evasion/crowd control tactics. Problem solved.

I saw Masaru talking in pub chat of how he converted his $10000 into 10000exp, saying that seems fair.

Maybe the phone cable.

Fighting was quite mediocre. Many scenes were quite blurred, the plot was quite awkward, and the fight scenes were unrealistic. Not a spoiler, only the reason I watched it. Spoiler! --Click here to view--I only went because I was with my ECOO team after the programming competition and it was the only movie showing with a relatively short wait by the time we got to the theater.

If ONE person can evade 19 players for the entire flag drop duration (including the 1 minute required to win after they're dropped), then that ONE person should be obligated to the jackpot. Seriously, how could ONE person manage to drop the flags 3 times (sets of 4) against even one competent player who can easily alert the public or spec them?

I use antiwarp when I detect a cloaker in a base (while I'm not lancing... but then I'd see them on radar and prevent them from passing), either that or I mine up the place. Space mines can be easily replaced.
-
Exactly... at least that's how it works in the modern HS. If privs were restored to their full potential, there would be very few rich incompetent players (which is why so many of them complain).
-
Space mines are an adequate solution to that, along with antiwarp. Unfortunately, most pubs are too incompetent to have any ships with those capabilities. Also, it's kinda hard to steal flags from someone who doesn't know you're there while flagging in center (unless they're camping).
-
Energy scanner provides more benefits than x radar. Cloakers aren't much of a problem since they're weakened.

There is no point to religion'.' The only function it serves is to control. There should be no need to "encourage good" in people. It's each person's responsibility to do what they can to advance their society and avoid causing detrimental effects.
