  1. You mean SWE's page? I don't notice any issues with the latest version of Firefox...
  2. The SWE site is fixed and is once again fully operational.
  3. You can't say his post was surprising though, at least.
  4. You guys are frustrated. Guess what- I'm frustrated, Mav's frustrated, and everyone else who's been involved with this is frustrated. The fact is there's nothing we can do directly, besides offer suggestions for fixes and restore the sites once they've been hacked. We've done the former- repeatedly- and each time the wait is for the host to implement said suggestions. We've (well, mostly Mav, actually) also done the latter more times than I can count and doing this does take time, and we're all busy people who can't just sit around waiting to restore the sites the moment they get re-hacked. So we're doing all we can. It's really not our fault the sites keep getting hacked, and I for one do not appreciate being accused of doing "dissapointing" work on this issue. All of us have spent a lot of time on this - time that we could've used to do something a lot more fun and enjoyable.
  5. The host is working on it. We've just gone through the next round of measures designed to secure the servers, and are now going to wait and see. Hopefully this will be the trick.
  6. Yep, thanks so much Mav. Hopefully the host will finally get around to fixing whatever leak is causing these websites to be susceptible to the hacking.
  7. We know that. Again, the matter is in the hands of the host.
  8. That's only cause you don't go to a good school, though.
  9. Talk about a delayed response, lol. I'm not sure what you're getting at. As I have already stated: So I guess we are in agreement even though we disagree?
  10. It will set the tone for the rest of the country? Keep in mind it's not even a ruling on gay marriage directly; it's a ruling on the limitations, or lack thereof, on voters' rights under the California Constitution to change said Constitution via the initiative process. Also, whatever happens with the Prop. 8 decision, it won't change what's happened (or will happen) in Iowa, Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire. It also won't change the reality of reliable polls showing plurality support for same-sex marriage for the first time recently in the States.
  11. The deadline is rapidly approaching for the California Supreme Court to issue a ruling on the validity of Proposition 8, the voter-approved constitutional change that banned same-sex marriage in California. The Court will rule either next Tuesday or Thursday, or on Monday the week after. What is everyone's prognosis on the way the Court is likely to rule?
  12. Well at least now we know what the solution is. You'll be assigned to the group "NBVegita is a mod"
  13. I see the same problem. Firefox 3.0.10 Same here. Very weird.
  14. Heh I guess the updated software really is bad.
  15. See the post in the GetContinuum thread. There was some vulnerability that allowed the hacker to re-hack all the sites once they were fixed. We're still working on addressing this.
  16. Better yet switch to SMF.
  17. Edit4: IE7 has an annoying scrolling issue when using the edit feature (the edit feature also being all messed up). Also, a fix for IE8 users is to run the forum in compatibility mode (the broken page icon at the top, to the right of the link bar). And Firefox reports 5 CSS errors. I agree that the reputation and post rating features are a bad idea. I think they go against the idea of SSForum being a neutral forum for free and open discussion. Rather, these features facilitate 'e-popularity' contests and permit the possibility of people piling up on 'unpopular' ideas.
  18. -shrugs- People decide what is right and wrong and from that, they write the law. The law then says what is right and wrong. And if enough people don't like what the law says, they can change the law. So it goes both ways. As it is, on this particular issue the people and the law of California are in agreement, seeing as how the people voted the law in just a few months ago.
  19. What if, instead of being anti-gay, Carrie was anti-interracial marriage? No one would stand for that. And there is a very simple reason for this: interracial marriage is legal in her state (California), while gay marriage isn't. Hence why Carrie has done nothing wrong. She is speaking out against something that is already illegal in her state.
  20. As a liberal, I'm a big fan of Fox.
  21. I'm not saying anyone is stupid. I think the beauty queen pageant idea is stupid as it objectifies women. That's just my opinion about the beauty queen pageant as a pageant. No one's stupid, people are just different and have their own opinions and agendas. Don't put words in my mouth.
  22. Nope. Can you say the words, "media hype?"
  23. It's a stupid platform to begin with.
  24. I second this. Carrie has every right to speak in opposition to something that is, in her home state, illegal.
  25. Still need to restore some lost content on beginner.getcontinuum.com actually, but yeah, all the script stuff is purged and everything else is done.
