Fly Southwest. Always the cheapest and the service was fine. I bought plane tickets for myself and 24 other people this past summer and SW was the cheapest by more than half of every other major airline I called.

Wow. I'm more shocked by his "pee bottle" obsession rather than the rest of the post. I've had to pee in a bottle ONE time my entire life, and that was when I was front-row center for a Raconteurs concert at Bonnaroo (outdoor music festival). I drank about 4-5 beers in the 45 mins prior to the show due to my excitement, forgetting that eventually during the hour and a half set that the alcohol would eventually have to leave my body. About a half hour into the set, I couldn't take it anymore, but I couldn't leave my awesome spot in the pit. So I took out an empty water bottle, discretely put it down my pants, and let it rip. Thankfully I was right against the fence for the pit, so it was tough for anyone to really notice. The toughest part was determining when I had filled up the bottle, because I obviously didn't want urine all over my hands. But this guy...he prefers to use pee bottles? Just think, 5 mins before that part of the video was filmed, I was peeing in a bottle, right next to all those total strangers

Keep in mind that we are also up for "Longest Running MMO," so there's always that. Like I said, even if Guinness thinks we're the second oldest MMO, that's still a great thing to advertise.

In all honesty, and as much as it pains me to do so, I'd side with the dimwit (Chambahs) and call you stupid. "HAHAHA, you're stupid" Plans that will affect the welfare of the game? Sorry, no. The game is already dead. What may be affected is what meager population of tired dogs that is left. Your 'plans' are moot and irrelevant, they affect nobody. The only change possible for this game will come from either someone with money who can pay for advertisements and hosting service or from someone with keen knowledge of game programming and willingness to commit the time to actually produce something tangible. Everything else is mere empty vocals which carry no weight. By deeds, not by words. The sooner that you realize it to be so and cease grinding syllables like Don Quixote's eternal windmills the better. This is the exact attitude that has led to the situation we're in right now. I'll have to side with Chambahs too, and say GTFO of this thread. For the last 11-12 years I've played this game, I've seen people like you. I hate to single you out, so please do not take direct offense to what I'm going to say. I've heard this game was dead numerous times from numerous people, and those people always fade away while the game continues to maintain a population. The negative attitude is always more noticeable than the positive, people will always recognize the naysayers, before even seeing what is really going on. I am busting my ass to help get a population in Metal Gear. I worked hard to help create it with Kirk and JC, and I will continue to work even harder to bring it back. Will I get noticed? Probably not, but that isn't what's important to me. That's the difference between me and you, while you tell everyone that SS is dead and call anyone an idiot who says otherwise, I will strive to prove you wrong. Bottom line is that I am not the only one, there are many of us trying new things to improve the game. The thing that makes SS so great, is that every idea that meant something to this game was thought of outside the box. This game is too unique to die, and there are still many out there like me who feel that's worth the effort. So maybe you think it's dead, but please spew your BS somewhere else, maybe an emo forum? EDIT: And to tell me that the remaining population are all old vets, is absolutely ludicrous. Between EG, TW, and Chaos there are over 400 people, and I have a hard time believing they are all "old dogs," as you put it.

I don't mean to take much offense to the slight at MG, but honestly, the lack of population isn't entirely our fault. Take DSB for instance, at this moment, there are 63 players in there. Sure, much more than us, but not long ago it was 100+ pretty much every time I logged in. Our pop was generally in the 60-80 range back then, so is it unrealistic to think that SS population has died in general? Anyway, we are trying something now to get at least some sort of population. There is relatively no staff left in MG let alone dev, and I'm working with what I have at the moment. Just be sure to check our news next week, we are having a tourney with an Xbox 360 up for grabs, as well as signups for CTF League that will take place the following weekend

Does numerous attempts at many different degrees count?

That's because records usually have to be performed in front of a licensed Guiness dude, or at least confirmed in person by one. I understood why, it's obvious, but I just thought it was weird because not all records (like the one we're trying to obtain) can be "performed" at a moments notice. We're looking for a record that we presumably accomplished a long time ago.

Fast Track costs too much, but we'll see what they say in 4 weeks. The only weird thing is that they wanted to know when and where the record was going to be broken, didn't know what to type in those spaces. Otherwise I'll get a reply and let everyone know what they say

The idea itself sounds like a solid one, but I am still morally torn on the entire issue. We need a new flow of players from anywhere we can get, but at what cost? Personally, I'd only completely agree with it if us, the community, were to pay for it to be hosted. We all know that won't happen, but if it was a reasonable amount for us to raise, then perhaps it would be possible. Also, we should all consider what must be done in order for this to work. If we do manage to get the TOS changed, and allow the game for distribution, where is the limit? I would want total assurance that after this advertising run that SS/Cont would be restored to it's previous state, completely free. Lastly, whether or not this takes off we should all start thinking of more ideas to get some new players in our community rather than just bashing others. I'd rather go out kicking or screaming than quietly doing nothing
