  2. All you noobs do is cry. Lanc rush is overpowered, nerf plz. Levi is overpowered, nerf plz. Wzl becomes new rushing ship, nerf plz. Grow some balls and learn how to properly attack/defend before you cry for a nerf and then you will see NONE OF THE !@#$%^&* SHIPS ARE OVERPOWERED YOU JUST LACK THE SKILLS TO STOP THEM REASSS.

    Why do we always have to be adding new items to HS? HS is not broken and doesnt need more items to be new and exciting. If you want to make anything new, fix the buy/exp system which is dull. Edit: Ohh and by the way, your ideas are all quite bad. If you want constructive criticism as to why they are poor, I will be glad to offer it.

    Lancs Rushing

    You want to totally take away any incentive for a team to have a lanc dont you? Having to anchor in a lanc is VERY boring and very few people enjoy it. I like the lanc how it is now because you can go offensive with it, but it is in no way a rushing ship. No salvo on lancs make it very easy to kill if you just time it right, not to mention they are fat and have lower nrg then they used to. You want to give people a reason to lanc, not punish them for it. Turn lanc into a pure anchor ship and we will see very few people volunteering to lanc... i know i wont

  8. Bomblining sucks and its whats wrong with HS basing atm. It requires no skill and promotes hopping. Make more offensive bases rather then defensive bases and well see freqs lasting much longer with much more intense flag battles as flags switch hands over and over.
  9. In a perfect world... but too bad this zone is far from perfect and our ships arent balanced. If you replace the levi rusher with an appropriate ship (the terr) then this would be fine, but the terr sucks. 8 ships is right, too bad only 2 can be used to rush effectively atm... and you want to take away one of those and make it a pure shark rushing zone? Fix the terr and maybe wed see more variety in basing.
  10. Taking away rockets from a levi makes the levi worthless for anything other then bomblining. Spider doesnt need rockets because all they do is fire bullets. Take away rockets from the levi and you turn it into a bomblining ship which just promotes the exact thing that is wrong with HS basing. Attacking and rushing is where its at, not bomblining. Duh? The levi was meant for heavy bombing, and the spider was meant for heavy gunning. If attacking and rushing are where the basing problem is, then taking away the rockets on levis would help. Why make a heavy bomber faster than the heavy gunner, in my opinion, they should be around the same speed, and have no rockets. Did you even read anything I wrote? How is attacking and rushing where the basing problem is at? Learn to read... its the complete opposite. People dont know how to attack and rush because all they do is hop on the defending team so they can bombline. Making the levi a heavy bomber aka bombline ship means it serves no purpose but bomblining/safelaming which means you either give us a new rushing ship capable of doing what the levi does, or you ruin basing completely and turn basing into nothing more then money farming bomblining.

  12. Levi rushing was around long before PD and it will be around with or without PD. PD takes away the weakness of a levi? PD doesnt make me any faster last time I checked. If you think theres no weakness to exploit against levis, then you havent found your repel button. Its incredibly easy to stop any levi rusher with a few reps, which every ship has. Since when do levis absorb all bullets/bombs? I seem to die quite fast when i run into a huge bombline unless i repel, which any other ship can do. 2.) Levi isnt the ship to slip past enemy with 2 rockets... the shark is. Have you seen a levi without its rockets? If you think you can slip past a team after you use your rockets your sadly mistaken. 3.) PD doesnt really do anything to anyone with half a brain because they just repel the levi while its rushing and after it has no rockets the levi/PD very slow and vulnerable. If you think theres almost no way of stopping a rushing levi you need to play more and improve your skills. Its that simple. A skilled levi can hold back a full novice pub freq, sure. But then again, give a skilled player a shark, and he will do the same. Its not the ship thats at fault, its most pub players lack of skill and knowledge of the game. Lol people had this same stupid math when the levi had 4k nrg and cried back then just like they do now. 14k energy on a levi sounds great to me... too bad your math sucks. Funny thing is most people who posted negative views on the levi are newer players. This thread was about PD on a levi and quickly turned into a levi nerf thread. The levi doesnt need a nerf, you guys need to learn how to stop them. Most decent players know how to stop a levi and its been stated time and time again how to do so. If you want to beat the levi, get in game and practice your skills and stop wasting time whining on forums.

  14. Erm... thats a pretty crappy solution to a crappy problem. I know that if I played on a freq for a few hours I would definitely not appreciate being randomly switched after all the work, and money if fielding/bricking, ive put into keeping my team on top. I switch sometimes when im bored and want to attack, but if im not bored I dont want someone, or some module, making the decision for me. If we do use an automatic freq evener, the most fair solution to it would be for it the last player to join the stacked freq be switched, not someone who has been on that freq for hours. This way, hopping wont be as easy as it is now as the hoppers will usually be the last ones to join the winning freq and they will be switched to even the game.
  15. Completely false. Back when privs dominated the only way to get in was to be good. Players didnt quit back then though, instead they tried to improve and show the privs they were good, and eventually they were invited. Also, how do you think most of the players that still play are rich vets? I play pretty often atm and im lucky if i ever more then 2-3 vets/semi-vets on my pub that know what they are doing.
  16. Wow this topic is still alive? Well heres my 2 cents... Pub vs Pub is fun (at times) and does allow newer players to flag and make money which is always good. Before I quit, privs dominated due to pub fixed freq limits and a good flag game was hard to find. Now, you see flag games consisting of 15-20+ man teams which is GREAT for pub and pop as we have seen lately. The problem is with this new shift towards pub vs pub and all this attention to the new players and pub teams we are alienating the oldest players who have played HS loyally for such a long time. Masaru's proposal (even if its old) would alienate just about every vet that still enjoys to priv now and then. Rather then adapt to the new system, they would likely just stop playing. Just about everyone that isnt on a priv always ends up hating privs. I see it everytime I set up a priv there are a few people in pub chat saying how privs ruin the game etc. but thats only because they arent invited. Privs dont have it that easy atm though due to the rather low freq limit in comparison to the usually large pub freqs... not to mention you have the other pub flanking so your essentially outnumbered 3:1 when you priv. Imo, the people that think privs kill the game are just whining. Privs hardly get a chance to compete in the large 200k+ jps like they used to because those large jps involve even larger pub freqs. People forget that privs serve a purpose just like pubs do. Pubs allow new players to earn cash, learn how to flag, and HAVE FUN. Well, privs give us a chance to play with old friends, take up a challenge, and HAVE FUN. Just because some players want pub 24/7 doesnt mean we do too. Dont mess with our priv freqs. We are already at a big disadvantage considering current pub limits. Let us enjoy the game just like pubbers enjoy their game. Long rant
  17. Thats because you probably didnt take the time to read through it. It looks like a lot to take in at first but its very simple if you actually read it.
  18. I dont think the spider is in any need of a fix really... in the center the are incredibly easy to kill if you just distance yourself and let them spam you while you evade and aim your shots. In base, well they are essential to just about any defense but spiders are very easy to kill with thor spam or just plain rep, rush and burst. Spider is just used more then most ships in center because it is the most cost effective as stated earlier in the thread.
  19. I like the system your proposing and I would definitely like to give it a shot but I have a few comments. First, the CKP sounds good but there would have to be a timer to it or else once you kill that high level player 5 times he would start giving 1 exp like any lower level player. A lot of times you will kill a player consecutively without trying to trade kill, it just happens. If the CKP counter can be interrupted by killing another player it would be nice, but then thats just another technique people would use when trade killing to get around the penalty. I like the item availability because it adds some diversity to the setups we normally see but I dont like being forced into a role I dont want to be in due to limited item availability and I also dont like the idea of having to be buying/selling equip over and over as you advance through the tiers. I guess it gives newer players something to work towards though rather then just money hoarding which is always good. The pilot enhancements sounds very interesting but at the same time im worried it could overpower the more active/skilled players. I guess I cant really comment on it yet as you didnt go into much detail. All in all it sounds very interesting and fun if done properly and I would love to try it considering the current exp/buy system is a bit dull.

  23. Yea... the more I hear people say it the more it makes me realize that. As long as we are going to use this system though, maybe we can tweak it a bit so the prizes are substantial enough to offer an incentive but not too crazy either

  25. Its up to the devs that make the modules/bases to request some sort of incentive or reward for what they do and if they do request it, thats fine by me. I still think people should do it for free, but if you insist, then reward. Just keep it in moderation. As for events, people play events in just about every other zone for free. They do it because its fun. I like getting cash for racing just as anyone else, but I would still play it for free because its fun. Brain said it best. They should play because they enjoy it, not because they are being paid. Sure, devs shouldnt have to devote time to working on the zone then playing catch up with the rest of the players to get a decent ship, but they dont need 10mil to do it either. I never once mentioned in my post that the 10mil granted made people godly due to maxed ships. I dont care if you have every ship maxed, i still have an even playing field skill wise. Now when you bring in the fact that you can field/brick non stop and other players cant, you have abuse. I have been staff and I know its a thankless job. It sucks most of the time, but you do it because you want to help the zone you love to play in. I have no problem with staff having a little fun on their own terms here and there... its even funny to watch most of the times. But there is a time and place for everything and in the middle of a huge flag game isnt the time to abuse, no matter who the staffer is. One freq always gets the short end, and thats 20ish players leaving upset. I think hes one of the few that actually read my posts I do want the zone to improve. I am getting involved and doing something for the zone. I dont expect money.
