I've had various safe zone buggyness too, but it just feels like lag. I'll stop myself by firing, a second later it'll propel me a few cm across the screen, as if the server didn't realise I'd stopped and decided to show me how things REALLY are. The same with moving or turning my ship. It'll suddenly jerk back to the position it was in a second or so ago. Nothing big, but bleh.
