  1. OK so scratch that i was wrong, but i think im close this time, so i ran error killer, a popular registry cleaning utility, after i ran that continuum stopped working again, then i restored my registry and now it works again, so whatever causes it is a registry key that seems to get removed, im gonna look through the backup and see if i can maybe figure out which key it is.
  2. Oh so it happens after a certain ammout of time playing? In that case id say your overheating, get speedfan(just google it,m it, its free) and check to see what your running at, your comp may need a cleaning or some more heat trasnfer material on the cpu, maybe a seasd fan.
  3. Well i had this issue too, and i did reformat and it worked for about two days before it started doing it again, it could be some sort of corruption of the drivers, or perhaps it forces windows to handle it in a way not properly supported by the card, or perhaps its a conflict with something else trying to use the same resource of the sound card as continuum at the same time and it works again after formatting cuz that thing isnt installed anymore, im not saying that this is for sure the soultion but all i know is since i put in the new card i have yet to have it freeze even once.
  4. Does this happen when running any other games? Do you get "No SIgnal" on your monitor? If so then most likely your powersupply is going and youll be needing a new one. When a game engages your GPU it draws more power from the powersuply, if the psu is weak or dieing then the vid card wont get enough and your system will simply stop. HOwever if your computer restarts or dumps only when you try to exit contiuum from in game then its because of a security feature built into the amd athalon 64 that for some reason thinks the way the video card tries to terminate the application and empty the memory is malicious and simply restuarts the computer to prevent damage, in this case just update your video card drivers, actually you should update them anyways you never know lol.
  5. EDIT Ok so thats not the cause, but i think im close, i ran a reg cleaner, error killer, after i ran it the game started doing it again, so i restored the registry from a backup i made before running it and it worked fine again, so the problem must be with a registry key that most likely gets taken out by some reg cleaners, gonna see if i can figure out which one it is. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well i was getting the bit where contiuum wouldnt load and would just hop around the task manager using up 100% cpu on this computer, a little while ago i bought a new sound card, ever since then its worked problem free. I think the issue may have something to do with the lightning sound when you start continuum, before i bought this card i was just using the onboard Realtek AC 97, so i think it has something to do with the onboard card and most likely that opening lightning sound. I havent tried this cuz i dont feel like uninstalling the card but perhaps getting rid of that sound would solve the problem if you dont feel like simply getting a new sound car, which, if your running onbaord, you should aways as they sap your cpu cycles. Anyways, hope that helps! Best Regards AC
