This whole "world poll" thing derived from cafeteria small talk when one of the researchers (i don't know how you call those whose jobs are to look for news) fantasized about USA influence in the world and came out joking that the world might as well have to vote because the USA influenced so many people. His colleagues took the spins and thought that a world poll would be interesting. But it was never seriously considered. I think that should also hold true for americans when they stick their mind into people business too...don't you think?
