Turret hunters usually hit each other, and common anti-turret weapons are bombs and thors. As sharp mentioned, additional bullet protection is small but bomb penalty is huge. I think 'better vs bullet, weaker vs bomb' concept is useless while bombers bombs have faster speed than bullets.

Nanodyne is a centering armor. 300% burst penalty was just telling 'don't use this armor in bases'. This armor is all good but bomb penalty suck. If you raise burst penalty back and lower or remove bomb penalty, I'll buy this one. Btw bursts r used in center too, so burst penalty not only applies to basing. Also, preventing a ship from basing is a good penalty too.

about message length, I think ?buy is ok. hiding is not really needed. ?shipstatus becomes too long for well upgraded ship.

Just a few minutes ago... I saw steigerwald and tandi attached to eachother and one of they were firing those falcon bombs with tacnuke shrap. I yell 'who is abusing bomb glitch?!!!!!!!!', 'steigwald or tandi?' They said nothing... they just stopped firing illegal bomb. Steigerwald is one of the staff members, and he was just watching tandi abusing glitch, or he did it by himself. At this moment I have to reveal that Swift warrior was the person who made me wrote this thread. I think it is time to discuss : staff members' abusing...... glitch, or power.

I think most people who read my thread can do it. Because it is very easy to guess how to do it. However, D1 already mentioned this is illegal to do. They can try it out, but at their own risk. Who cares if mod catches a newb abuser? It is no prob because they tried to do illegal thing. Somehow revealing problems will help staffs to make haste in their work to prevent it. I had to make this thread because nobody else did. I'v wait 1 full day and nobody mentioned this glitch. Keeping silence, can be called hiding. I agree to 2D, hiding only make problems remain longer.

And probably there are more of such glitchs. I saw flechette gun that fires level 3 bullets, wide brick that has 2-times of use. long time ago. I don't know they are fixed or not.

Some players are abusing this glich for line bombing in base 3. by this glitch, falcon generates shraps of tacnuke. level 3 for terrier. falcon fires 4x faster than tacnuke. it made LOTS of crazy L3 shraps in a small area. no way to dodge, almost no way to rep pass also falcon mines turns to a deadly weapon. I think you have to do something for this glitch.

The difference is: Private freqs are password protected, Public freq don't have such thing so anyone can join. Members of most public freqs don't really know and/or believe eachother. So voting does not make it easy to kick someone by single person's will unless target player tried to do something bad to freq. If you wanna use a public freq like a private freq, that is already possible if you got 5 known friends and yourself. p.s. for my question, i knew dr.brain won't give me any reason.

I'm asking about doc's lockable-gate paradigm, not about your idea and I agreed to your idea because it allows: flagger hunters > single flagger trying to runwin by gate locking and a public freq > a private freq, by +1 number of person and 2+ smaller freqs > 1 bigger freq.

That is true weakness of public freqs. Without summoner they can still give flags away. however any zone may have that problem. for example teamkilling on purpose, etc. since hs has many small freqs, 'kick/ban/unban from freq' can be a solution. by power of freq owner, or by vote of freq members. p.s. I agree to muskrat's idea. btw I don't understand why gates are meant to be blockable. for sf theories? or to give tw-things more value to have?

I think you are saying like that because you are one of high exp-ed player. how often do u see basing of 2 high exp-ed private teams? 3 on each team? for the most time, defender is 1 high exp-ed private team, and attacker is 1 or more low exp-ed public team. while high exp-ed players sitting in spec and waiting for higher jp, basing is low exp-ed vs. low exp-ed. p.s. 5 lancs? lol a joke.

I wanna say my experience. I was playing in 6-men public freq. We had flags and was defending base 5. We defeatted quite a few base attacking freqs. And then, suddenly all of us got summoned into center by an abuser. Our enemy took our flags without a fight. Staff? there was none. LOL Please be realistic It is not very difficult to see a hacker in game. Yesterday I saw a player using energy hack even a staff was in game. Mods are doing their work, but they are not gods. They can't see everything, they don't stay in game everytime. Let's say I got a mod. What they can do for us? All they can do is just making punishment. They won't bring flags back to us. Of course mods may prevent future abusing by that abuser's SINGLE NAME, AFTER the abuser already done what he want. But, suggested method will prevent ALL abusers BEFORE they do anything. Which one works better? Oh and Yes, HT portals are not a problem if you have tw pass or tw token with lots of money, or secret technic swift mentioned. Abusing summoner is not a problem if you have good and well-known friends to make your priv freq. Buy do u know? This is true only for some people like you. You are just saying 'It is not a problem, because it is not a problem for me.'

3vil, you're not understanding. read what 2d wrote 1) is about public freq. it is about some people who wanna har!@#$%^&* newbs with summoner lanc by abusing summoner. 2) 2D did not suggest to open both ways at the same time. And, flag runners are already using gate to run win!! My opinion: 1) Since members of public freq can quit anytime, they leave a free spot for abusers. because of this, simple on/off is not enough. So I suggest this: ?summon=3vil to make player able to be summoned only by 3vil, ?summon= to turn off. Public freq exist for a reason and has a role to serve newbs since they are weak in power and social link to group themselves. 2) Once you gave gate opening priority to in-sector player, give it to in-tunnel player next time. Maybe this can be done by making small delay between gate openings.

I believe decreasing thrust power of rocket may solve rocket-brickwarp and rocket-shredder. portal-brickwarp can be stopped with anti. though anti is rare for newbs and/or base attacking teams. In some cases, brickwarping is much easier with horrible length of wide brick. p.s. brickwarp squad won't agree to anything that harms brickwarping

wow there was more events than I thought. even though swift's trivia helped my newb days, events are still uncommon and short, while regular gameplay is permanent. so i think it is not a bad idea to add a way to gain small money in regular gameplay. the money should be small enough that makes it only valuable for newbs. the concept is this: gain smaller amount than normal gameplay, easier (and possibly safer) to perform the task. this is helpful for player-less times, and also gives newbs something to do while they have nothing to do. there are situations that makes newbs can't really do anything and takes out their will to challenge. flagging makes people form big private freqs, and normally newbs are not welcome to there. while big freqs attack or defend base, center sector is nearly empty and it is very difficult to find and kill an enemy. newbs can form a pub freq and attack base, but normally they don't get a player with lanc. fly to base - die or kill&die - spawn and fly to base again - repeat.... is way too loose and boring and ineffective as you know. so it is not bad to give them something else to do that is enjoyable and gives them small prize. however keeping newbs from leaving is also good for elites. i hope they understand this. p.s. the reset clears everyones ship money exp to default, but never clears played experience and knowledge. elites have skills to own others and knowledge to gain money faster, while newbs don't know what reactor plant is for. the starting condition is not same at all and elites have very great advantage. call it a challenge? by the way, how often you reset hs?

knowing details of ship currently played by other player is not very difficult if you spend time for observing. gun and bombs can be seen, reactor can be known from max energy, drive can be known from ship movement. some utilities are revealed if you spec. other utilities and brick is revealed when that player used it or turned it on. some of these info such as reactor/drive requires playing experience of same ship by yourself to know, but the other is not. normally newbs can't do this, experienced players can. so it is not rare to see a newb asking 'how do u shoot that fast?', 'which gun fires red bullet?', 'what is best for spider?' etc. informations gathering without having in-game experience is already exist in game and cannot be blocked. this appears in any multi-user games and possible problems should be minimized by balancing game mechanics, not by hiding informations. p.s. some people are simple, just ask others what is best, and get it. (yeah just enjoy. nothing is complex in life!) some people are simple but have eyes, just copy other strong players things. (maybe this is most common) some people are owned by common styles, likes to make countering design. (sometimes become another common) some people want to be different from others, makes their own uncommon design and enjoy. (rarely become another common) some people likes to develop, change and change their ships style and see what happen. (they gain knowledge base) some people are simple and crazy, get anything that came into their eyes. (lol) may have more than one

How many people read forums everyday and check every threads? lol I don't and I don't have to. hs is always living with long mod-less moments and I know mods are busy however I was lucky that I could see hacker and mod at the same time.

Oh hi. Here's the situation. I have disconnected while I was playing in HS. Server reboot or crash or whatever. I tried to reconnect but I'v got a message that password is invalid or name is already in use. At that moment I guessed that my name did not disconnected properly. But when I connected as another name shot238, I could see shot237 in the store ! No doubt, shot237 is hacked. And after a few seconds I could see my spider's energy drops down. What is this.. this means hacker sold my resonance sphere. I looked for a mod in hurry. luckily I could see muskrat and dbe in ?listmod. Muskrat was sitting in spec, but DBE was playing in brickwarp, so I asked DBE for help. Because I was in hurry, I asked simple like this: my id is hacked, i'm shot237, shot237 is in store and selling stuffs, so plz stop shot237. (divided in several lines) After I pm'd DBE 3 or 4 lines, he pm'd to me simple message. it was about 'what are you talking about?' Because he was playing, and I was upset and I could not tell simple and clear words, I thought that DBE did not understood my messages. So I had to pm DBE again about details in several lines of messages. While doing that hacker changed ship from spider to levi and was heading to store. I told all I could to DBE and waiting for some action from him. In a few minuites, I saw shot237 disappeared from players list. It is uncertain DBE kicked hacker or hacker left by himself, because DBE says nothing more and away. I'v wait about an hour, but he did not came back. Very disappointed, and posting this here. 1. Why DBE get away after first respond? I wonder, How a mod can leave a player while that player is asking for emergency help? 2. I had pw in my profile. But I heard that there is a command to set local password and setting the local pw is needed for complete protection. Now I know this, But I never knew about local pw before and hacked. A staff member said staffs did not announce this because few people may know this knowledge and use for hack. Oh, yes. that few probability came into reality now, LOL. Do you wanna say this hack is caused by bad luck? However I think you could announce people about the method they can follow to prevent hacks, while hiding the actual weakness that can be used for hackers. I still can not connect shot237. Probably hacker changed password. Please give my name back to me. And please tell me possible recovery of loss.

I think that is it. I saw somebody chat about crim's bty while we begun another attack just after your freq moved back from base 5 to 3 once again. it was our last attack, if I remember right. maybe im going to forget hs til next summer or autumn. while it gives more stress than fun, I should not be there. however thank uall for answer. about a few hours ago I was playing hs. I was in public freq with newbs or non-veterans, as usual. enemy was well-known veterans in private freq. there was not many people in hs, so the game was nearly 1 pub freq vs 1 priv freq. after a very long and boring battle, we took flag and was going to win. I was converting all 20 flags with my lanc. Our freq members were defending very well and I was ready to dodge thors. The time was around 10 seconds and our victory was sure thing. JP was very high (about 40~50k) even unstopablekiller warned enemy about my flag time. and then, just a few seconds before I drop flags, HS crashed. after re-connect, the enemy got flags and won huge jp quickly. there was usual talkings like this: 'who the f*ck crashed hs?' 'it is not unstop' 'i don't know. lol' and so on. It was very disgusting event to me, because the enemy moved their base like 4~5 times during that long battle and we lost what we should gain. by hack, or abuse. however, I'm not interested in finding who actually did that. I could see such crash often when no mod is online. So I wanna ask u a question. Is there any hope that HS get better than this? What are you staffs doing? This is my question. p.s. my personal feelings about HS. It makes me think about 'Why should I play HS?' HS is good for making tiredness for: watching sarcasm, for example veterans sneering at non-veterans. watching abuses, for example summoning all base defenders of public freqs to center and saying 'make priv freq, noobs'. watching veterans, they have strong link to eachother and play against non-veterans, to keep their position in HS. But, I think creator of HS or owner of HS did not want those, really.
