A very long shot, but yah, I guess it COULD happen. Weather it actually would or not is another question. Too many people want "power" in this game, so having the code go open source would just give more people more "power" than they really need, and it would be abused to the point where it would drive all the players out. I personally don't have a problem with the way things are setup now. I can log in, play, have fun, that's all that matters. If it ain't broke don't fix it. As for the biller, it would be nice of the central biller was actually central, but I don't see that happening. The invite method works fine, and it doesn't look like it's going to change any time soon. SSC billing is more of a priv. than a right, and I don't have a problem with the way it is setup, then again, I don't run a zone nor host zones, so that opinion is coming from the view point of a player.

That's much more constructive than basicly saying, "Your skills suck, go somewhere else."

Wow, way to attack him. Someone tries to do something for the community and all you do is put him down. Now don't think that I'm saying you three haven't, or don't do anything. Believe me, I know you do, but compared to the whole, the people that actually develop is a rather low percentage. It's just sad to see the developers attacking the newbie dev's. At least he wants to help, so the least you can do is encourage and help him. If you don't want to answer his questions, then direct him to a place where he can get them answered, instead of bashing his ability (or lack there of).

Any ircd allows you to limit character length and type. What it sounds like your going to try and do is create an irc look-a-like. With ASSS, you could maybe link the chat to an irc channel, but you probably won't beable to code an actual ircd into ASSS. No one would want to go though the trouble. Becides, ircd's are pretty large in themselves, and don't like to work with other protocols other than their own.

Meh. Weather or not it happens is another thing. There are various subspace channels around IRC, just no one ever uses them. Point ur irc to stealth.mn.us.unitedchat.org and join #united, there's a few older superships subspace players there. Other than that, not many are on IRC from what I've seen, and attempts at subspace channels have failed.

Actually Invision doesn't bother making skins for it either, they let everyone else do that. All they make is the default skin. You can go to http://www.ibplanet.com and request the mod for it. It has probably already been requested, or it's in the works. But it never hurts.
