o/ So, it's obvious that a lot of people have come and gone over the years. Some have stuck around, others have disappeared completely. Out of curiosity, what have ya'll been up to over the years? Polix grew up, Swift...who knows, Death+ is probably out yelling at trees telling them the history of Subspace and educating the masses on the politics of the game, 1stStrike is probably drunk in a gutter some where, CypherJF grew up and got a real job...but what about the rest of you? How YOU doin?

I still own ssradio.fm if you want to use it.

You need to realize that grabbing an ice cream phone with your hand and driving away isn't funny, or cool, it's stupid.

The chick at the window was pretty cute. You were so concerned about grabbing an ice cream cone that you failed to notice this. Now she thinks you're an idiot, congrats.

The fact of the matter is this: without the development of this game, its end was inevitable. Over 15 years and nothing has changed in this game, and you're all bitching about politics and DSB and your e-penises and rules and regulations and blah blah blah. In the gaming world you either have to continue forward, or re-invent yourself. You can't stay stagnate for almost two decades and actually believe you're going to have new players. In all honesty, all the politics and everything else mentioned wasn't even apparent to regular players. When I first started I never knew any of that stuff. It wasn't apparent until I started staffing and coming to these forums, where the politics and bullshit was always posted in the open, that I knew what was going on. When it comes down to it, you can't have a 15 year old game that doesn't progress. Who the hell would want to play a 15 year old game on a consistent basis? Even mega games like Counter Strike are taking a hit because they never developed. The exception to that though, is the fact that it DID develop into Counter Strike: Source. What has Continuum developed in to? It's the same thing with a different skin on it. If you really want to save this game, you find a coder who's talented enough to reverse engineer what's currently here (like Pritt did in the first place) and actually gives a damn, or you find someone who's willing to do it for money, and you progress the game. Without that, no new player is going to give a shit. And why should they? No amount of advertising or article writing or site updates or domain changes will bring in new players. If anything, it will just alert people who used to play the game that the game is still alive. "Oh look, an ad for Continuum. I remember playing that 10 years ago. I wonder what's happened since....[plays game].... absolutely nothing....[uninstall]. Back to playing something else." And that's how it goes. Without someone to recode this game and move it forward, there's really no logical reason why it would survive. You can sit here and fight, bicker and complain about it all you want, but in the end it will get you no where. Cut your loses and move on to something else. Maybe turn the community in to a gaming community. Or, just go your separate ways. That is, unless, you can do anything about the current situation.

This game hasn't changed a bit!

I've been using rapidxen.com for a while now. Unmanaged unmetered VPS's for $8/mo. Their performance is awesome as is their control panel (OS re-installs on the fly, automated kernal changes, stats, etc) and their staff is pretty nice, as long as you don't bog down their network with torrents or other warez.

I've been playing this game so much that while I was at work, I swore I heard a creeper behind me. Turned out it was a rock stuck in my shoe scraping the floor as I walked. In addition to that, I've totally had numerous dreams involving this damn game...must keep digging...

I enjoy how /map, /links, and remote /version cmds have been disabled, all probably in the name of security, yet the server doesn't have ssl enabled.
