Hmm, I think the people trying to vote me in, think this is for local access, and the people voting for mackie thinks this is netwide BanG Admin... Now I still assume we are talking about BanG Admin(netwide). Anyways, What's wrong with having people from MG? I don't think it really matters what zone people come from. Infact, I think that is the last thing that should be considered. Maybe people have really different opinions of what a net op should be. I'd prefer someone with no real attachment in any zone, if your going to base the fact on whoever is in whichever zone will promote them more then others... But I don't see that being a problem... Nothing netwide really significantly benifits one zone. It's more of a "for the community" type position. So I don't know why zones are even being refrenced. It should be based on prior experience, at!@#$%^&*ude, dedication, and all the talked about good personalities in all those lovely books you people should read. Fact is you should look at the person, what they have done, what their at!@#$%^&*ude is like, how active they are, and how much they know, then from that, see which suits the communities needs better. My biggest concern, is getting someone active, willing, and have this little thing I call common sense

I'm immature, I giggle too much. But then again, the majority of people with the "mature" !@#$%^&*le, are only given that !@#$%^&*le because they don't talk. So I soppose it's all how you've been introduced to someone, and talk to them on a regular bases that decides your opinion. As for being set up... Your kidding, right?

Probably, I'll admit that, but it's never harmed us by talking about impossibilities before... IE: Priitk ever updating the client well, whichever the choice may be, I look forward to the answer. Just as an FYI, our site is back up

Freakmonger is a good choice, gravitron seems fine too me, but don't base anything on my opinion there As for audry, I left for 6 months, and the people on staff with me at the time, knew what was happening. Since I've gotten back, the longest I've been away from this game was 3 days, 32 hours of which, I was at work. If anyone needs to contact me concerning anything MG-related, let me know in-game. seeing as our email system is current MIA.

I wouldn't so much base your opinions on people when they are dealing with stuff over the forums. Generally, if a post is placed in the forums to contest something, or to argue an already dealt with point, it's just to further their own vendetta by bringing other people they hope share the same view into the mix. It's common practice among players to bring stuff publically, whether trying to or not they involve their friends, they're hated enemies, and the people who just don't care... Their friends, stick up for them, the people who hate them, get pissed that you don't shut them up, and the people who don't care, get pissed because your even letting them voice their opinions. I've dealt with gravitron on very few occasions myself, seeing as I try and limit myself to the working of MG, unless it's something that is going to become an issue across SS itself (which as some netops have noticed, I come warn them of pilots who are in some manner or form cheating), at which point I'll alot the other zone staff members.... Anyways, Gravitron, as not being familiar with me, was quite short with me in the begining, until he realised I was actually being mature, and talking to him and asking for more information (I can't remember what this was concerning...) and he went out of his way to help me... Which is a quality defintely in need when it comes to a netop. Past that, I don't know what kind of a person he is. There are 3 things I personally think a netop needs: General Knowledge of SS. Not coding, if thats what you think I mean, just a vast knowledge of the game, or knows where to get the info. A Professional At!@#$%^&*ude. Being able to put personal feeling aside when needed, and look at situation from all sides. Not publically a saint, by all means people who are too nice shouldn't fill the roll. But someone who, if in error, knows it, can admit to it, and better themselves. Dedication. Someone who has been here for a long time, and is a dedicated players, and member of the community. Whether local or net wide, they should be involved in what goes on where they are. If given Net Admin status, to branch out and involve them selves in coming issues across subspace. Offering help where they can. Good luck in your decision.

I'm vocal and willing to state my mind ^^ Too inexperienced in net-wide relations however. I'd like to see someone actively involved with the pre-existing NetOps, who knows how to do the job (or can be shown with little effort) and whose willing to actually invest time into this game. It's going to be hard finding someone however. Best of luck.

I'd see that possibly working... but then it's just a popularity contest, or could turn out that way. I'd still say leave it up to GS and his ilk to figure something out among themselves. Or if a vote is held, limit it to current zone owners/sysops, and major community contributors, so atleast they have experience and hopefully, some maturity.

I fit two of the qualification I think... Zone owner, and I've been here forever... But I doubt I've helped any part of the community other then the recent SVS stuff, unless of course it was MG related... then I was all over it However, I only read these forums, I never post... this is my... 7th 9th* post I believe. ^^ Edit: 9th ^^

I'm pretty sure I'd have just left your ban stay, But I'm dilligent in the removal of idiots. I already said I'd be willing to step up as the zone owner, however I doubt the public would like that. I'm a major !@#$%^&*hole to alot of veteran players, simply because they turn jaded and synical and ruin the fun for the newer people of the game... so I've made far too many enemies... so far, until further notice, Myself and freakmonger will be taking charge of MG together, however as far as I'm concerned, the guy is honest, very knowledgable, and he pays the bills. In my mind, he can do as he pleases, I trust the dude

I'm never included in april fools jokes.. I !@#$%^&*ure you this is no joke... I just spent 4 hours removing access rights, so it better not be a frickin joke, and I was part of it all

!@#$%^&*o my fellow metalgearians (and those of you reading this at sscentral ^^), as many of you are well aware by now, SVS (our leading sysop and bang admin) has had his bang admin, biller and in-game rights revoked recently. We will not discuss in detail as to what lead up to this, however you the players do have a right to know the basics of what has happened, seeing as this is affecting our zone as a whole. Starting the story from the beginning, a recent dispute between SVS and Admiral Kirk broke out of a simple forum topic. This then lead to a number of upper staff opinions swaying one way or another, agreeing with one or the other via their own personal opinions. To make this quick and skip a bit, it ended up, as Testtube put it, becoming a “who has the bigger e-penis fightâ€. The argument involved a number of actions by both sides, which should NOT have occurred, but eventually ended with SVS net and local banning Admiral Kirk for 5000 days, one action which should not have occurred. This then resulted in Testtube returning for a short while to sort out the situation, and unfortunately ended up with SVS’ BanG powers being removed completely and indefinitely (as many of you have seen via SSforum.) Both Admiral Kirk and SVS were to be welcomed completely back into the zone, with kirks ban being lifted. However, sadly SVS has chosen not to return with us, and has instead stated he is “done with SS†as freakmonger put it. We decided to leave SVS’ access to various parts of MetalGear for a while, giving him a moment to cool-off and let him re-think his decision. After this incident, SVS had then used his rights on the metalgearctf.net webserver to erase our entire forum and site database. Testtube has confirmed this via IP logs, and has provided a screenshot (shown below post) This shows the last person to login is a broadband user using a small company called Sunflower A cross check of svs ip shows that he has used a ISP of sunflower as well at one point in time. Since this action, his rights within MG, have been removed entirely. As of now, our current status motions for us to put Kn|ght and freakmonger in charge of the zone effectively as of now, with Testube owning the rights to MG. SVS has been removed, and we have been granted everything he needs. Nothing major will change and Metalgear CTF has gone back to the way it was. -Kn|ght, Plugman, freakmonger, Testtube & the rest of the administrative staff at MGCTF (written by: Plugman, edited by Kn|ght) --------------------- From the MGCTF Staff: Regardless of what has happened in recent events, on behalf of staff both past and present, and indeed the entire zone itself, we would like to thank SVS from the bottom of our hearts. What you have done for the zone over the years has well outweighed how you left. You have left your mark here, and you will not soon be forgotten, you have regulated the way a large portion of this zone runs, and as Testtube said, you are part of MetalGear history. You have worked hard through countless bang bans, and have certainly been the guy to look up to for many years for many other staffers being a figurehead. If you were just gracing us by showing that you could still own public whenever you wanted, or working hard being the sysop we loved, MetalGear will soon miss you my friend. --------------------- Questions and Answers: Will anything happen otherwise? No, nothing is going to change to the general public or for that matter lower staff. The only thing which has been affected is upper staff. Has anything been lost? Nothing major has been lost, the forums have been dated back a ittle bit, but that is all. No major SSCC MetalGear CTF content was lost during this. Is there anything I, a simple player can do? Not really I am afraid, all we ask is you show everyone involved the respect they have earned and act in a mature way. Is much else going to happen? To our knowledge nothing more will occur out of this, we do not intend to make this bigger than it is. Why is this post here, why did you tell us all this? After discussion between Plugman and Kn|ght we agreed this would be the easiest way to inform the general community of what has happened, and to avoid them gaining wrong opinions. Is Admiral Kirk returning? Kirk will be coming back to work here amongst us once again. Why have I not heard any of this before now or today? Simple we tried to keep this as quiet as we could over the week or so it occurred, and not involve you the public so to as keep this issue as least-damaging as possible. We are standing by our decision as it has not let us sink to the controversy other zones has seen when this has happened. Will anything net-wide change Probably so, unfortunately I cannot comment on the affairs of the SSC BanG Admins, you'll have to wait for them to comment If you have any other questions, you can contact Kn|ght in-game, or via his email at knight@metalgearctf.net Here is the image
