  1. Call it what you wish, but it's still an attack on my descriptions. Since this is that last thing I'm arguing on these forums and you have refused to be kind in any of your posts, I've decided to just leave the forums now. and save myself a lot of trouble.

Well, I understood by one of your previous posts that it wouldn't change. That doesn't mean that I won't still defend my opinions though. I understand that for many this is true, even for me. But I cannot accept anybody having a complete tactical advantage over another. That is my core problem with the zone and it overrides the fun of earning better things as I have just as much of a problem owning a player who I have a tactical advantage over as I do being the victem. Thank you for being rational about my comments. For that you seem to be one of the most mature people here.

Alright, point by point it is then. First, a lot of people are arguing with me and I am announcing that I'm leaving so they know why I am trying to finish defending my points and finish leaving. As far as pop still going up. Of course it goes up, the zone is on SSC. It also had a base pop to start with and just the fact that if you sell something there is always somebody who'll buy it. I hope a lot of people do have fun with the zone, but that doesn't mean it's that great for everyone. All I was doing was saying what made it unplayable to people like myself. In response to the limit I will just say this. I understand that that limit does exist, but it doesn't change the fact that most players will never reach it. I never even reached the limit of one ship in the several weeks I played there. I have pride, and thus I will not beg for money. Also, a decent flagging ship doesn't mean squat if you can only hope to win maybe 1 or 2 flag games in a week if you're lucky and play way too much. Yes, I have played in many flagging zones. I had more fun in them than here. It was because the flag games were actually fair. Nobody had an advantage over anyone else. I have never seen a squad doninate as much as they do here in any other zone. As for making things cheaper. I only suggested making cheap setups as effective as expensive ones as to negate a class gap. I would agree that games have to be challenging. Unfortunately once you get rich it is no longer challenging at all due to that large gap. I know this because I played HS way back when it used bots to control the system and I got rich enough to max out several ships. I left that time too except that time it was because it was too easy. Also, I always try to look at things from every side, that's why I have never actually insulted the zone. I see the good aspects too. I even complimented the concept. That doesn't change the fact that I still disagree with some aspects. One more point on that note. you implied that I was alone in my opinions, but not only has that been proven wrong already, but just bear this in mind that as an almost constant; when one person believes something, there are bound to be plenty of followers.
  4. This is the order that they were posted, you clearly attacked first. As much as you may want others to believe that lie, the fact remains that it isn't true. Also, generic terms are useful for description. As I have seen, slightly vague description makes things more attractive because of a level of mystery. You may disagree, but since only Brains opinion matters in the selection of descriptions, you may as well keep your opinions to yourself and stop trying to make me defend mine. I am not talking about 2 bullets from the same shot as is clearly understood if you were one I didn't need to talk down to. I mean that since it is more likely to hit the target, more hits will reach a target, thus a higher rate of damage.
  5. Well, I can see that point too as an item to replace afterburners. In fact, I think that's actually a better idea, but for the record, it's not impossible because I didn't say to make the ship go slower, I said to make the energy go up faster instead of making the ship go faster (although not worded exactly like that).

You are only looking at this from one side. I can't teach someone who isn't willing to learn and clearly nobody here is willing except perhaps a few of you not (or no longer) on the forums. Apparently you believe that because about 5 people believe something then you should follow along, but I refuse to be a follower. As far as complaining, I have yet to do so. All I have done it stated facts.
  7. there are lvl1 pulse lasers and lvl2 Flechette last I checked. also, Multi is simply more likely to hit. since I higher hit rate means a higher amount of damage inflicted, that makes me correct there. I admitted a typo and that was it. This gun has low power and range but the "pure amount of fire" is enough to shred any hull. "pure amount of fire" says that there are a lot of shots. It would seem to mean that you're the one who doesn't know much about SS since you refuse to believe that 2 hits are better than 1 hit with the same gun. Also, you're the one trying to insult me here. It seems to me that when your parents tried to teach you respect, they failed. I suggest you learn it quickly since disrespect will not help you here and it will not help you in life.

You're correct that I have now officially quit HS. I may still be active on the forums for several days though. Also, for Brain. I didn't ask you to change the zone, I just said what made it unplayable for people like myself.I know I'm not the only one. I'm just the only one to speak out to this level.
  9. Thanks for implying that I'm not a person ("...people care more about fun than they do about fair."). I still intend to leave on the best of terms regardless of that. I know a lot of people do seem to have that opinion, but I know I'm not the only one to leave for this reason too.

In the simplest terms I can put this; you can't stop the rich from getting richer, but you can stop the degree of seperation from expanding so much by simply doing this: make the items such that a cheap setup is just as effective as an expensive one. The difference being that the expensive one might only work for a completely different style of combat.
  12. For the record, no they aren't mutually exclusive. You just have to either make more opportunities to make money for the newer people, or limit how much money other people can have, or make the money system involve many more different setup possibilities instead of lame devices like antideath, or simply make all items that can be purchased of equal status instead of making some setups far superior to others on all levels. No matter what you say they are not mutually exclusive. You just chose to make it that way.

Actually, as I have seen so far, the rich and poor seperation has kept increasing and as Brain said, this is not a fair zone (note, this is not an exact quote).
  14. Well, you may just be right on that one, at least as far as HS being the wrong zone for fairness. However, I don't have much fun unless the game is fair, so perhaps you're right. I've come to the wrong zone. I will try a few more times because I don't make such a decision lightly, but If I can't find anything that makes this zone fair, I will be gone permanently. That would be too bad too, since this zone has so much potential if it was made fairly. I only leave a zone for two reasons; either the zone is corrupt at any level or it isn't any fun. Just so you know I don't see this zone as corrupt. If I do leave it's because I'm not having any fun.
  15. For some reason you people always want the zone weighted towards the rich with items like antideath (the lamest thing in all of SS) and now you want the rich to have unlimited utilities too. What needs to be done is to make the zone accessible to everyone. I still couldn't afford antideath on one ship if I wanted it and I actually have skill. What about people who are new to ss or the people who can't play for 10 hours a day. I have a decent ship and the rich still have an advantage over me so it definitely won't help them to make the rich even more powerful.
  16. Flechette is a higher level gun that most pulse and more hits mean more damage What is wrong with searing... Plasma is really hot. I see a typo but if you can't ignore typos then stay off of the forums. Beam Array: A set of low-powered lasers designed to flood tight spaces. The shredder does use a lot of low-powered shots so it's not contrdictory. As for the TacNuke, if you don't get it then I'm gonna let someone else explain it to you so I don't insult you too much. There was only one error there and a typo. If you're going to say I'm wrong then you should really make sure I am wrong first...And people say I'm hostile...
  17. Pulse Laser: A basic armament firing laser rounds modified to richochet off of standard obstacles. Flechette Gun: Fires shotgun-like energy pulses that can inflict heavier damage in a wide range. Plasma Cannon: Designed to seen seering plasma into an opponent even bouncing off an obstacle. Beam Array: A set of four low-powered lasers designed to flood tight spaces. Shredder: This gun has low power and range but the pure amount of fire is enough to shred any hull. Falcon Missile: A standard bomb used primarily in dogfights to catch an opponent off-guard. Harpy Missile: A modified falcon missile that operates with a proximity fuse making for much easier hits. HE Missile: Designed to bring power to the smaller fighters, this bomb is a fearsome weapon to face. Space Mines: These weapons use anti-inertia technology to remain stationary and create a field lethat to enemy opposition TacNuke: A tactical nuclear warhead that is equipped with a proximity fuse in order to comply with inter-galactic law. EMP Shockwave: One hit from this weapon and your Reactor Plant is shut down for a while. The most fearsome of all bombs.
  18. Ok, as for making it harder to kill lancs; yes, this is true that they would be harder to kill, but they wouldn't be able to escape an attack so easily. Also, that was merely one possible example as it could only be applied to other ships like the terrier. As for the variable energy on ships, do you honestly think that a gun like this would be used on all ships. This would have to be a weapon for smaller ships like hopefully the shark to take down larger ships. Also, since he can use programming to control the energy required to fire a single bullet I would think he could make the barrage equal for any amount of energy. Note that I'm not 100% sure that this is possible.
  19. There, now you're making sense. Thank you for using real arguments. Now we can have useful posts. I see what you mean with the items. I can't believe there isn't a way to do it, but I know that it probably isn't exactly the priority atm. I'm not sure I can say the same about my drive idea though since I know it could be an extremely useful item. Especially for a lanc. As far as changing the range I will point this out. By Changing the rate of fire to almost nothing (a 0 value for bulletfiredelay) and using the energy to manipulate the amount of bullets fired there would only be a short burst that would kill any enemy but also leave the player that fired the barrage vulnerable. If you set it such that a full energy barrage would be exactly what was necesary to kill any opponent then you'd have the weapon I am talking about. The actual barrage would be very small compared to that of the shredder due to the amount of time spent firing which should be under half a second. Therefore it can only attack a very small area.
  20. Not surprising, people want to close topics that threaten them. Although I admit the beam array is no longer a problem, that doesn't mean something else won't come up, especially since the zone is clearly still in development. I really don't care if the topic is closed since I don't see this as a problem at this time, but I guarantee a similar topic will come up again if another problem like that comes up.
  21. Ok, as far as packs being an issue of preference, I thought that was the whole idea of having several different possibilities. As for it having no bearing on gameplay consider this: somebody gets all the repels possible and all the thors and ports possible then add a brick. Under these cir!@#$%^&*stances it wouldn't be possible without sacrificing a sensor so I say it does have a bearing on gameplay. That's exactly right as far as the afterburner idea. That's exactly why it would be valuable, but keep in mind they would lose a large portion of their ability to run away if they used this. Hmmm, calling my gun idea impossible to balance. I am aware that ASSS is much more adaptable than SubGame and I am capable of making that gun on SubGame so it's not impossible. Also, since such a gun wouldn't have the range of the shredder (clearly implied) and would be extremely hard to hit with as well as leaving the person who fired it extremely vulnerable creating suicidal attacks unless they are well executed, I would argue that it wouldn't be nearly as lame as your shredder. It seems to me you are attempting to belittle my ideas. If you're going to reject them give a good reason. If you won't do that then tell me so I can just stop posting ideas where they have no use.
  22. Actually, this barrage wouldn't be nearly as lame considering that by firing it you would empty all of your energy. Something like this would be extremely hard to hit with but extremely effective if it hit the mark. Sounds to me like a political response. You don't have a real reply so you slander your opposition. If you have a real response then post it. Otherwise save the rest of us the trouble and just shut up.
  23. It seemed to me that this forum needed a place to post just item suggestions so I made one. Post all of your item suggestions here. I have a few to start. First, as I have previously suggested, but apparently worded badly; I suggest that items be sold one permanent item at a time. For example one thor that you'd get at every spawn. Next, I would like to suggest something that I have seen only in settings that I have done. Why not make a sublight drive in which instead of making you go faster, the afterburner would make you recover energy faster by use of negative afterburner energy. Also, I would like to suggest a simple but effective weapon. An all-out barrage weapon that would fire a quick, concentrated, and highly lethal barrage of lvl3 non-bouncing bullets. These are my ideas for now, but I will probably come up with more later. Post other ideas here so Brain can find them all in one place.
  24. For the record I wouldn't have said anything had you not posted that, but is there an app somewhere for that? I don't want to be staff. I am just curious if the zone has reached that level of organization yet.
  25. Talk about an understatement. I'll also point out that I know I've seen at least 2 people using that weapon. As for the effect, you haven't tried to attack a base with that weapon defending it. It surely was not possible without the use of items like a brick or thors or at least several people. Thus one person can defend against a team while simply sitting in a corner and firing. You also left out the single most obvious solution there is. Make an arena and test it in there. I'm sure you can get plenty of volunteers and then you could update without recycling the entire server.
