  1. Oh dear, I was just massed by Syrus! He killed two of my soldiers!
  2. Way to point out a typo there... What's more is that this affirmative action stuff makes racism logical. If you have two racers but give one a head-start, and they both finish a the same time, it is logical to conclude that the racer who had the head-start was a slower runner.
  3. I know I did infact need to give that much advice. This system is complicated. It takes a long time to learn the subtleties. Infact, the last time I played a game like this I screwed around for two months before realising I needed to focus on UP, and I'm a math genius who's actually recieved instruction in Game Theory (Yes, it is an actual math subject.) The first time I was smart enough to specialize. In my case, it was in offense, but any specialty works. Those who specialized in defense couldn't be touched, those who specialized in offense didn't have gold to take while they were inactive, and those who specialized in stealth/sentry couldn't be seen. Most of my gold came from those "well rounded players" who didn't have enough defense to stop a real assault, didn't have enough offense to crack the defenses of a big target, and didn't have enough covert to see or hide vulnerabilities. Oh, and one more thing though it is obvious...buy the biggest weapon you can afford. Weak weapons have about half a dozen problems with them. Anyone who has already researched a technology is an idiot. Those things are indeed important, but not yet. Before spending 40,000 gold on a 25% boost, you should have 160,000 worth of weapons. I've already seen a few people who have made the mistake of buying a technology this early. (I currently have the best covert...I know all...PoLiX is wearing red boxers.) Not to sound !@#$%^&*y or arrogant, but if I didn't give that advice, by the time the new players figured all this out those of us with some experience would have built armies 100 times their size.
  4. Hmm...I'd hate to give everyone else advice on this game, but then again, if I don't then Syrus and I will pwn everyone by Sunday and everyone will quit. As I've been saying, this is FC Army, not FC Raiding Party. Think bigger. Don't worry about training and arming your soldiers, because right now everybodies' stats suck. Unit production on the other hand grows exponentially this early (eventually when you are producing about 3000 soldiers per day it will slow down.) Gold can be stolen and soldiers can be killed, but UP is untouchable. Additionally it is the core stat that all other stats come from. Actually, those of you who have bought steel shields and warhammers are the ones who have screwed themselves over. When your UP is about 100, THEN you can start worrying about decent weapons and stuff. Don't worry too much if some fool comes by and takes 1000 gold. Two weeks from now, that's how much you will be spending on weapons repair. And another thing...pick a specialty. Here specialty is not to be confused with "exclusive stat", you need to build all of them. However, you want to pick one stat that should be twice as high as the others. Choose said stat based upon your strategy, guild and personality. Those of you in the SSC Forum Gods guild should probably focus moreso on defense as there are fewer targets for us.
  5. Actually, it would be nice if Forum Killers started recruiting. As it stands they are gonna get pwned.
  6. Actually SR, its only 2 hours for soldiers...which is appropriate. This game isn't supposed to be about ppl attacking each other with armies of about 100 or so...people are supposed to have armies in the 10,000 - 1,000,000 unit range. Screw the reset. Yes some people are higher than others, but really nobody has squat right now. The stats next week won't look anything like what they are now.
  7. It won't get boring at all. This system was designed with that kind of scale in mind. The "race to bank" will indeed diminish as no one will attack for 2k gold. However, that's not the point of this game. There's a reason this is called an "Army" system.
  8. Vacation mode freezes your account. No one can attack you, but you don't get crap.
  9. Well, it's called "phasing". You apparently haven't gotten attacked often enough. Don't worry, its not plesent for him...he can't do anything until he is un-phased.
  10. I have previously played at StarGateWars, which uses this system as a base. There are a few small differences (other than everything having a different name), which caused me to make some mistakes so far. Namely, in the system I was used to spies were used for both recon/sabs on others AND defending against recons and sabs. A couple times I've tried to sab people who had no covert and got caught before realising that its set on the sensible method of having sentries defend against spies. I'll be fine though...keep in mind the scale right now, and the "lead" the high ups have is pathetic at this point. In a week all of us will be using two-handed swords. If I recall I used to buy units and weapons in packets of 1000 just to make the mental math easier.
  11. You'll eventually get yours Veg. I on the other hand am completely invisible to you mortals. No one will see my rise to the top until it is too late!
  12. Quite fool. They should spend all their gold on daggers and untrained mercs.
  13. !@#$%^&*, this is just like the last MMORPG I played. Free advice to everyone: Buy lots and lots of Untrained Mercs.
  14. I know, I hate that feature because my stats suck.

    Iran

Iran actually isn't a heated debate. Iraq is a heated debate but Iran really isn't. Everyone has the same opinion...don't do anything just yet but don't trust them either. Truth is a fundimental concept. It is based upon reality, and thus is a fluid as reality is. However at the same time it is fixed upon what is real and cannot be distorted. Dav, what you just posted is the "politically correct" way of saying "people lie when they start losing their arguements". Though there is a problem in that the subject of this debate is what the intention of the Iranian collective unconcious is. We are trying to predict the future actions of an abstract en!@#$%^&*y. The only thing fixed is their past behavior. That past behavior cannot be truthfully disagreed with...Iran has funded Hamas and Hezbollah. That is a fact, not an opinion. Iran has many large political organizations devoted to imposing Islamic law. Iran has been jerks to the IAEA, though admittingly its their sovereign right to rule their own country though.

    Iran

Dav, the truth is very clear...its just that SeVeR's sources have an agenda to push. And negotiation with Iran does have the potential to help...they aren't a lackey of the Muslim Brotherhood and therefore they aren't stupid. You ppl watch too many movies. Asteroids are only threatening to large life-forms that cannot adapt to low food supply. Human beings, while requiring a large amount of food, are the most adaptable species ever to have walked Earth. We'd manage. And even so there are asteroid watch agencies, but there's a zen at!@#$%^&*ude that should be applied here. If there's nothing we can do to stop an asteroid in advance, there's no point in looking for them. As for climate change, we've already survived natural climate change. WMDs are by far the most dangerous. Air pollution is also far more dangerous than natural disasters. The animals, though not sentient, have already figured it out. Humans are much more dangerous than nature, even to ourselves.
  17. I for one am happy for him.

    Iran

    1. Nice, that was tricky. That's true, except you left out one important fact. While all modern nuclear powers use Plutonium in their bombs, it is possible to construct a nuclear weapon out of Uranium. It would mean a smaller explosion, but would still be big enough to wipe out a city. 2. ...and the International Atomic Energy Agency says its likely they are building the bomb. 3. That's not an arguement. Anyone can simply ignore inconvenient evidence as "dishonest". Besides, in case you haven't noticed the CIA sucks...for the entire history of the agency they have been getting caught and messing up intel. Even if the report is innaccurate, it is likely a result of that stupidity. 4. A very small population has been given small freedoms. Meanwhile a large amount of money is going to Hamas and Hezbollah to kill Jews elseware. 5. I don't recall calling the Iranians racist. I recall accussing them of having the goal of trying to force the world under the rule of a new Caliphate. If I recall what the last Caliphate did, they did tolerate Jews and Christians as long as those Jews and Christians held no political power within their government. Actually, your opponants on this issue don't generally give a crap about Israel. The Israelies are strong enough that they can take care of themselves. When I for one point out the terrorist groups Iran is funding, I do so not as a cry for defense of an ally, but merely to point out Iran's intention. Their goal is to force the world under Islamic law. Their goal is to enforce a monarchy, granted there will probably be some kind of parliament, and I have no idea which family would be the ruling family as all the obvious family lines were cut by the Mongols. This goal is stated in their public addresses with a little reading between the lines. The proof that they are willing to act on that goal is their funding of foreign terrorist groups who are advancing that goal for them. Granted, they are citing the "Golden Age" of Islam where scientific and economic progress was made. That situation would not be unliveable. But that was all because of Al Ma'mun, one man. Monarchy is fine when the king is a good man. The problem is that more often than not you get power hungry megalomaniacs and/or re!@#$%^&*ed people. Democracy was created to limit the sort of damage those people can do. Basically, the supporters of this Caliphate are !@#$%^&*uming that their choice of Caliph would be a good man and then pointing out that the world wouldn't need democracy under that situation...as statement that is true if it were only safe to assume a certain family line would produce exclusively good people. Now, lets get real. Iran has no chance of actually taking over the world. However, what they can do is psyche themselves up on percieved victories, which they have done in say the Israeli ceasefire last summer. They can use those percieved victories to psyche themselves up, convince themselves that they are stronger than they are, and think that the will of Allah will make up for tactical defficiencies. (That's true, though I'd have to say God tends to help those who show true faith by not putting him to the test, and he hates tryants anyway.) After all in the Battle of the Zab, the Abbasid supporters fought their way out of roughly a 10:1 disadvantage after exagerration. Additionally while debate strengthens a true democracy, it doesn't work to well in a closet theocracy. Infact, if the Iranian government had as many protesters as there are protesting Bush, it would be a sign that the government was about to collapse. In their culture, dissent is a sign of weakness, and they have !@#$%^&*umed that dissent is a sign of weakness in our culture. Even though they can't, given their culture there is enough there for them to convince themselves that the would win in some take over the world scheme. If they had a weapon as powerfull as an Uranium based atomic bomb, if they weren't convinced before they would be completely convinced at that point. They would certainly try to take over the world at that point. They would fail granted, but in doing so they would do a lot of damage and destroy atleast a half a dozen cities. That would probably mean several million deaths that could be prevented now if we simply stop them from building the bomb in the first place. In short, they are loons and we don't want them having that kind of firepower.
  19. Today marked the newest offensive by the Excel forces. This represented a wide-scale assault against multiple SSC Gods. First up was Aileron, who repeled Excel's assault and left him wounded. A quick rest later and Excel moved on to Dav, making up for his loss. The third target was Samapico, who repeled Excel's assault and left him on the brink of death. About 5 seconds later Aileron finished off Excel in a well timed precision strike. Good thing Smong was around to offer revival services...
  20. Yeah, I just noticed. More superiors, yay >_>.
  21. welcome to the world of MMORPGs...just be glad lame!@#$%^&*es aren't all getting up at 2 in the morning to carry out their attacks within 5 mins like they do in the more hardcore ones.
  22. He's scared.
  23. I propose that there be a daily cap for the number of points awarded to ppl in the army system for posts. That way ppl will stop spamming. The forum has bandwidth limits. I'd say about there should be a 300 point limit per day from posts.
  24. I'd say not. Hardcore MMORPGs suck. All of them. There's no way around it. The only way to have the best stats are 1) Show up there first or 2) Cheat and get away with it, with a possible 3) Buy the stats with real money if the MMORPG accepts "donations."
  25. What "we" are you talking about. You are the only one in that guild who seems to be doing anything. Besides, that is a valid topic...all those points serve to do is to line MTN's pockets...and he's not doing anything with them anyway! I'd advise Forum Killers to leave their guild before the layer of BS gets above their waist.
