  1. Well. the appeal of this game for me is that even though it can be rather "simple" at times, it still takes strategy and skill to be truely good at it (at-least in DSB, since thats all I can speak on). There really isn't another game that I play on a regular basis that strips the game play right down to pure player skill and a 1 on 1 (or more often 1 on 2 or more) test of ability. When you get right down to it, there's very little someone can do (aside from cheat) that can allow them to regularlly best a more skilled opponent. Anyone who knows me from DSB knows that I thrive on 1 on 1 and 1 on 3 or more because I LOVE the challenge and thrill in defeating my opponents. I can't get that in many other games. The fact that I also pick one of the slowest and, by some people's view, worst ships to use in a dogfight, only adds to the thrill and ultimate joy in victory. PS. And there's the added respect (and many times anger) that I get for actually taking the time to learn and then play the shark, and sticking with it almost 100% of the time.
  2. I didn't really "leave" so much as I take loooooooong breaks in between hours upon hours of hardcore SS playing in DSB (the only zone I have played regular in my 7 or so years). Personally, I have never seen any of the drama or e-politics some speak of, but then again I have never been involved in the managment aspect of a zone. I simply enjoy annihilating people who think just because I fly in a shark (a slow turtle of a bomber heh) that I should be an insta-kill =D It's nice to take a year off, come back, and still have the skill to kill 60% of a zone's population heh
  3. Thanks for the heads up Hoch =P I had been waiting for an email to let me know whats up but none came so I didn't realize I was unbanned. So thanky =)
  4. Har Har =P
  5. So, there I was, sitting in front of my computer with SS open and dreaming about how much fun I was going to have playing DSB for the next few hours tonight. I click "Play" and.... BAM! I get a message telling me that I'm banned from the SSC network for 1 year!! I'm shocked.... and annoyed. But I calm down and I start to write down the email address and Ban ID# so I could get this resolved as quickly as possible. I finally send off the email to the SSC address that was given and then I surf on over to DSB's site to find the addy for their bans as well. I figured the more eye's I have focused on my little problem the better and considering the fact that I only play in DSB anyway... *shrugs* And now I find myself on this forum so that I can get yet more exposure for my plight as well =D Username: Brewminn or Jester. (since I use both) Ban ID#1676 The reason: I have no real idea. I know that's the typical response to a ban but I have not even seriously annoyed a op (atleast as far as I know hehe) in well over a year. And that situation was because I was talking nonsense on pub chat and an op finally got tired of it after 2 hours =P Overall, I really don't know why I got net-banned from SSC. If I had to guess it might be because I agree with people when they call me a cheater (and in fact I make a running joke of it since I hear it so much) and some op overheard me and took action. But if that was the case then I'm not sure why it wouldn't have been acted upon instantly since I wasn't banned while I was in zone.
