  1. lol That's a good idea, but also asking for a ban =P
  2. Sorry about the big paragraph lol =P Well, in my opinion, points makes UP deva, because of flagging. There might be lots of testing, some of us will help out (such as myself, tm, mumbo) but in the end, it'll be worth it, hopefully.
  3. I dont know about this one ... might be too confusing ... would be nicer to have a tripe-jackpot event every now and then Good idea. Make it an event, it'll probably attract more people. Post it on the MAIN forums here, to ring people in.
  4. Well, I agree with the idea of using points instead of credits, since it can be a fairly large hassel. It's really up to you guys. The extra buyables will make the game more interesting, but a few pointers - I listed the ideas that SOS posted, in the quote above and numbered them. The one's I think that can be kinda, unbalanced are the following ones: 2, 3, and 4. These one's should be excluded. #2, can be a HUGE waste of points. If someone on their team is anchoring, or sitting in safe, and the engine shutdown happens to hit them, IT'D BE A WASTE OF POINTS! Furthurmore, if something like that happens, people will become irrated to this and less and less buy it. This is basically a roulette; your better off doing number 4. #3, is a really unbalanced one, although, I think the results could be pretty sweet. After neuting them (defending team), you could simply use this, and gain 5 of the flags, without hesitation. Pretty stupid, if you ask me. All the hard work getting them and you lose five of them, OR, you can get 5 people to use it at the same time, to get ALL OF THEM, which will definitely piss the other team off. We do not want that happening...and it possibly has nothing to do with basing. The upside to this is, that the game can become turf-style, like, 15 flags in one base, and 10 in the other, with BOTH teams defending and attacking at the same time. That could have really interesting results and be really intense. Lastly, #4, another unbalanced one. Same reasons basically. If the other team is going to win, all you have to do is, get your team to sit in the corner of the map, and keep casting it. Clarify this though - One time per minute per person, OR, one time per minute for everyone? Still though, it could easily ruin the flagging game that everyone fought hard for. If you are gonna put #2, 3, and 4, you MINUS will make thors buyables. Kinda the same concept. All the other one's look good. Although, one more thing. If you are making this very expensive, and costing points, most likely, most people are gonna lose more points then gain during the flagging match. This is why I suggested the credit system, where you can keep your points, while still be able to buy items.
  5. I also think we should have the stats (FULL STATS, chart AND top players). It's nice to have, for bigger games. For small ones, it may become spam, but when you have a pretty good game going on, it's nice to have to reflect to, such as, who killed the most, least deaths, etc etc.
  6. That is true, but it may encourage new players to play more often due to some of the 'spectacular' buyables =P (ask doom or sos lol =D). Who knows, maybe deva will get populated on it's own. Worth a try though, and this will last us for a loonnngg time if it passes and it is balanced.
  7. agreed. You should make sure that the cost per each item is actually decent. For an example, Bricks. You should definitely make bricks cost HIGHLY due to the fact deva IS basing. If you make it let's say, 500 creds, and put per kill or goal, 25 creds, people will definitely ball when no one is online to give themself more creds. When it comes to a big game of flagging, this will RUIN the game, literally. They could probably buy endless amounts of bricks, causing the attackers to constantly push. If BOTH sides do it, it'll literally be stalemate, and no one will be killing. Brick by brick constantly? Pointless. Brick is a GREAT tool in basing, and it should not be over abused, due to this credit system. Make every item that you can use on ships buyables. Burst, decoys (like anyone will buy these), rockets, bricks, and portals buyables. TO encourage more items that will become valuables, do ENERGY UPGRADES AND WEAPONS. Sink every ship's weapons down by a level and energy level down by let's say, 500, and make them that you only can BUY them. I don't strongly encourage this idea though, but if you want more buyables, go with it. The energy idea should not be too bad though, IMHO. Since this game is fairly fast paced and very easy to kill someone, make the creds given very minimal. Kill = 5 Creds Death = 2 Creds Goal = 15-20 Creds. If possible, make it that the bot only will give credits to goaling if a certain number of people are PLAYING. This will encourage balling greatly if there is no flag game going on. Just a few points and ideas as usual.
  8. An excellent idea =D
  9. But if you have only the counter, what's the point of periodic messages? Couldn't you just scrap them completely? If you ask me, looking at the counter is nicer than looking at those periodic messages =D. It's more eye-appealing EDIT: Just a quick thought. I think you should use both, coming to senses. If you have a giant game, and people are speccing, most likely, they won't be paying attention to the jackpot. The intervals may get them to notice in and play.
  10. Hmm...Definitely think this is a bad idea. If you look in more depth into it, if you get a vet or a good player (such as myself =D), and they get KOTH, it would be insane. He would literally be unstoppable, unless ganged 1v10, which most likely, won't happen. This will scare all the newbies away, thinking that the vet will always get KOTH and rape them over and over, continually. The upside to this is that it encourages the newbies to play longer and more, to earn the KOTH. Most cases though, there will always be a vet in the game when newbies are around. The points giving is an insane amount, if it was something like that. It would definitely have to be like, 10k every 5 mins, and the person who killed him should get prizes AT LEAST 50% of what the person with KOTH won. The person could be in a jav, spraying bullets like no tomorrow with super, would be relatively hard to kill him. He could, EASILY, run around the map for the longest time ever, and earn free points. The periodic messages would help, although, if the person with KOTH was smart, he'd portal away every now and then, and run other directions. KOTH is a bad idea for records. People trying to earn the highest record (like old deva, ratio) will ALWAYS go for KOTH, then later sit at 50:0 if they have it for the rest of the year/month/stat reset. Then another person sees this record, and does the same, and gets 51:0. Recing won't be the same. It won't be hard-earned as before. Same as points. Eventually, people holding the highest recs and points didn't earn it LEGIT. I can't really think of anything else then that, but if i do, i'll post.
  11. I definitely think drop. Let's say if you were the only one in the zone, and you increased the KOTH points by...let's say, 10x, it's literally free points just sitting in spec. I don't mind the spam though; it's not that repe!@#$%^&*ive.
  12. Definitely only the jackpot counter. Right now, it seems like it counts every million for the periodic messages. In bigger games (looking into the future), this will become spam...
  13. As of 9 est, I saw a value on the JP counter...8! But some odd reason, it now appears to be blank, once again.
  14. I agree, lagging is a part of deva, but lag is also part in every other zone, so what difference does it make? Well, your idea of people buying super is not valid; you can green super up to 40 secs!
  15. Congrats!
  16. I have an idea for a bot. Have another 24/7 bot, but with a credit feature for buying stuff, ya know. Have like, per kill, 10 creds and per death, 2 creds, and 40 creds per goal or something in that nature. It will possibly encourage other players to play the zone more often, wanting to buy items (such as super, points, w/e) or for simply bragging rights. For events, make them worth credits rather than points, making buyables more flexable. Some people don't really care about the points, so instead, they could buy super, or shields (if possible), rockets, OR buy the points from the credits system. You should increase the cost of points for each item in the ?buy menu, or get rid of it all togethor and stick with the credit idea. IMHO, I prefer the credit/buyable bot idea. Also, for the Devabot (original that is), have the lagging feature. The .lagcheck (playername) and .lagme commands should show everyone how laggy someone is. Have like, the current ping 500+ and ploss 2+ for a spec. Just a few ideas for the moment, I'll possibly think of others as time goes on
  17. OOO....Upload'er =D
  18. Hey guys, When you have spare time, work on the F1 menu. Customize it a little bit. Have thing's such as rules, description of each ship, Devastation in words, Staff, Etc. I actually find it rather helpful to read this (I occasionally play new zones; before I begin playing, I always read the F1 menu). Just a small idea.
  19. I know someone who can script one for us or already has one. I'll ask him whenever he comes online or the next time I see him. EDIT: Btw, forgot to post. You should add like, TKwars, Racing, and like, bombers. There are many varients of bombers. Ever played scorch earth? Old classic game? You can actually make that game in SS in a way, with the right mods. I've seen this game like, three years ago or something and it's FUN AS !@#$%^&* =D FURTHER EDIT: Looking at the Dueling arena, I think you should have a 24/7 bot here as well. You should make the boxes UNATTACHED to the center. Make the corners the warp-points of the bot to the safety zones in the box. Top-Left corner of the middle box goes into the top left box, etc. It's more better this way and the doors sometimes and be a pain in the !@#$%^&*.
  20. Hm... I'm not quite sure about this. I know of one way though; simply filling four to five layers of 'space' (completely black squares) along the border. I think it may have been done in the past, but it should work. It might make the map look a little sketchy, but it should do.
  21. w!@#$%^&*aaapppp aced! Let's see, I only so far, seen aced and mojo
  22. kick me!!

    First post!

Hey..what's going on SOS! I'm a returning player =P so if your new, you probably won't remember me...pitty =D
  23. kick me!!

    First post!

What's going on guys.. It's like a dream...I thought deva would never be back up again. I'm so happy right now that I could cry =P Most of you probably will remember me...I hope =P Hmm..working on the map? I could maybe make a few bases for you guys. I may have saved some previous bases from Old Deva waaaayyy back then on a cd or floppy somewhere, so I might have to go dig it out, although, I highly doubt I still have it. Oh btw, nice LVz sos =D -kick
