  1. Here is one of my ideas which a few have seen: Heroes Ships 2-4 Versus 6-8 Ships have similar layout in abilites - one is bomb, one cloak, one is bullets. Not necessarily a proper or set thing, but just the idea for now. When one ship exhibits great skill either in a kill spree/balling/points/flagging/whatever the first one to get to a set goal turns into ships 1 or 5, depending which side you are on. This ship is the hero ship which cant be taken down by a normal ship. A hero must rise from the opposing side - that hero has the weapon needed to take down the other. If a hero rises and helps takes over the territory or scores all the goals or whatnot for his team then what does the other team have to stop the hero? They have to strategize and contain - for example if the credit system was in play they would by bricks and repels so that they can build up their status to heroic. A question to be asked from this idea is, Would it be better if everyone could get to the heroic status, or if the first player to get to the total got it? Anyway, something could track whoever got the most heroes and there could then be an event in that pub - the top two heroes would be made two opposing kings and they would choose their kingdom (team) for a last battle before the reset. Ive got another idea but ill wait and post that at a later time.
  2. Im dev too...and yes im a lil lazy, but at this juncture all i feel i can do is give ideas, i have sent them to mike and that probably wont get me far. I plan on posting one in Manus' new post. MiketheNose seems like MiketheThumb, like in Roman times when it was a thumb up or down to live or die. If his thumb is up now...which is hard to tell due to his inactivity of recent days (and I also think that it isnt real pressing) but we need a free flow of constructive ideas and openness if 17th or whatever a new theme is to come forth. I admit im newb on alot of sets and stuff of that nature so my ideas may only work for events and maybe not work at all. But ill give them anyway.

  4. My 2 cents: As far as this topic: Delic in the past as been quite negative toward staff, either being an annoyance or just a flat out pain. BUT There is a reason he has kept posting all this time and it is either one or two things. He is either an idiot, or cares about the state of the zone. At this juncture no pub game has been played nor jav match for maybe two weeks. He can't screw with anything worse than it already is for it seems to be his desire to also help the zone. This poll which was done by a former sysop is the first time to have an open polling of such a thing which i think is good but it shows that the rigidity in which things have been done and the veil which seems to remain between Mike and players. There needs to be a balance of interests- none of this events are most important, or pub is most important, they both are. Players need to decide what they want out of the zone in detailed answer. Most of it would be population but then how does that come back? What would make players come back? Something old? New mixed with old? An overhaul? Or is it time to move on? Done.

  7. I think he meant that the pub map and settings were not going to be changed. In which chase, he hasnt changed that. Its an addition to the gameplay, which atm isnt very Levi friendly, but all together it allows people to play more precise, clean cut and encourages balling even more.

  10. Could someone give me a step by step layout of how to make tiles work in photoshop, I have the dimensions right and i could convert it to .lvl in tile editor but it wont open in ssme. Its a fairly old version, i think i was sposta put it into bitmap mode, but i thought that was what .bmp was, and it was saved as .bmp. Thanks.

  14. 11 people in 17th parallel on tuesday at 8:38 pm. I'd hafta its on its last heaves. Which is rather sad but i have no interest in the game right now, My rec is 12-1 and its been that way for nearly the past 2 weeks. Sitting here talking about it does nothing either, so far its all been talk and no action. From what i hear there is a big idea coming that'll be the savior of the 17th, while the staff stays behind the curtains whispering amongst themselves the players get bored easily due to this lack of communication and when the time comes to unveil this grand idea, how many players will be there? So i sincerely hope that this idea is a very good one and it has the ability to attract people through word of mouth, etc as 17th once did. But as of now, it is ridiculous. Very !@#$%^&*ty.

  16. There doesnt hafta be flagging, but i hope someone will make the map at least with the attennae turret idea. And, the pathways dont hafta be hidden. Its not larger, it just has pathways and attenae. And gold and red, or gold and white color.
  17. yes, this forum isnt the most active forum in the world, could more opd ppl post here please and give insight on the drawing map, and if someone will at least make the map and try it out for a freaky friday, or something. Part of the reason pub has lost luster is its old and stale, we have been to every crevice, etc. Thats why its a big thrill to go outside the map. It is somewhere else, unexplored. If you wanted to spice it up you could make the pathway arcs which i drew camoflouged. A hidden pathway around pub, to appear to be on the outside. Or it can be visible, either way. Im just giving input.
  18. A roughly drawn map of current pub, drawn from basic memory with my own additions, cuz i frankly hate working with the map editor. This map has a 4 point flag system, in which the flags are in the four cardinal directions. It can either be collected by the team, or by an individual who wants his own points. But there doesnt hafta be a flag system, but its just a random idea that goes along with the pathways i made from East base, to south safety, to West, and then up to North. Those are the arcs. They provide a longer yet safer (in someways) route to bases. The center would be the same. Color scheme i would like to see is white and gold, or red and gold. Two very flashy, appealing colors. Then i have the Antennae turrets. If its possible these would either be attach points, or attach bots in which you are a stationary turret, guarding the entrance to pub. As you see there is a path from the 1st doorway too the antennae, or you can just attach to it, i dunno but itd be cool to be like in star wars and just swing around shooting. And you must guard it with mines of course cuz even though the path is very thin you can still get burst and die easily. There would be barriers and holes protecting the player, of course in the little attenae head. There is only one tube, instead of tube coming out of bases, due to the atennae. You can elaborate, expand upon this idea with your own, but this is my idea for advancing pub. Discuss this idea cuz i think ppl like paths and different areas to finagle around in. There is a pathway at the bottom, i just ran out of paper.

  20. I like both i guess, but the most previous one that was slower with stealth had a rocket for about two days and that was probably the most devilishly good time ive had in levi, but i know that wont happen again. Either levi is good and as ive said before im not too fond of the ancient levi.
  21. Soon i will draw a map of a possible idea for an advancement of the current map. Basically the idea is this, At the East and West bases, combine the two tubes into one tube. At these bases near the entrance there will be "antennae" on the parallel wall above and below the entrance. there will be one circle which fits one ship. This ship is a bot. A levi attaches to this immovable bot and becomes simply a turret , similar to halo 2 when you take control of a uber gun, So there are two of these attennae for each base. So you are able to shoot out of little gaps in the circle, or head of the antennae. The tube that reachse the head is very thin, so a levi is capable of blocking out attacks and there would be a door to the circle (head). Ive always liked how Gold and silver have looked on things,a nd it would be neat to have an egytian symbolism type deal, gold and silver radiation from the center in the shape of a sun, or something thats cool. or GOld and red, gold and blue, something. On kill9mms map he had a nice passage that went around the pub. I dunno if it would work with the current map well or not, but i thought it was rather neat. You could make it an arch that extends out into space for a second and comes back in. Possibly place the ball in the center. Allows for fighting over the ball and an emphasis on urgency and passing....or maybe just vulching. I dont think the map needs a total change, honestly. People will raise !@#$%^&* over it either way, so if the map can be adaptable and upgraded i think it can do that and it should do that. This is just my thoughts for a possible map. I hope to draw it sometime soon if i remember and im nto busy.
