  1. The last few sblball matches I have played in, no offence to staff but crease limits are often broken. Some are by pure mistake of speed, others are deliberate (especially when it comes to javs saving the ball on goal line) but these things are often ignored. Again, wasn't an attack no staff, just saying you will need to correct your Event Referees upon that.
  2. I see you are one to show respect. The amount of things you will have to watch, keep track of, etc. will mean you need multiple refs to run a single match. I can't see a bot being set up that somehow monitors when a goalie crosses their blue line, when a jav enters crease of when a ball is scored over crease. There are several other factors also involved - prehaps if you try talking to the Hockyzone staff they might lend you a bot. As far as I see it in terms of multiple leagues it is bad practise to run one league over another even if it is only the recruiting stage of things. Also pushing league upon leagues near the start of the year (from what I have heard at least another league is coming up after sblball and the possibility of another one starting while sblball is going on) frankly seems almost an overdose of this style of play. But still, we all learn from our mistakes. Hope it goes well for you.
  3. Considering he was the league coord surely it does involve him still with his JavWar league still running?
  4. Um... to conduct this properly you are going to need a set of ERs (at least) to run the matches just in case various rules like crease, goal keepers crossing lines and other things aren't broken. Going to take alot of work :\
  5. My above post was not 'bashing' anyone. It was not to inspire an argument yet you seem to try it make it so. The last wasn't and this one won't be either. I don't lower my self to deregotary terms. In response to your comments upon the ships, I heavily disaprove for the simple fact this should very much be based upon a SubSpace theme in some light. If you want any ol' Spaceship themed RP there are plenty out there which will satisfy. What is wrong with varations upon the ships? Better than some random ship you have created from which we have no idea of what it's capabilities are even if you do describe it a little. Afterall, did you not say someone brought in a random space cruiser? Maybe because the open any ship idea led to this? We have our opinions but you seem to be more willing to derail yourself from a theme and develop into something I think is much too big for you to handle. At the moment i'm feeling a bit touchæ» - which probably relates to my slightest anger upon your post; one that seems full of contradictions and mindless thoughts. Maybe tommorow i'll lighten up.
  6. Hmmm... so different to what I like as an RP. To me, an RP should be almost free flow. We are basing things around Continuum? So therefore a limit on the ships is better, it stops people MODding. Also creating all these different threads for so few people... it seems almost pointless to what is happening. As a rule, I don't create character sheets. I want to RP, not DnD. The only exception is probably Madhaha's thread because it's an interesting idea upon an RP. Provide a brief synopsis of your character, but don't list numbers, values and other things in - then you are practicly including modifiers, dice and other rubbish I have no want for in a proper RP environment. I know many a RP forum which did not require a character sheet bar anything at most of a few structured sentances on the rough idea of your character. This also allows you to develop your characters later on. Also stating you have 'experiance' does not help either. The last thing we need in a RP is a although prehaps misunderstood - bigheaded mun throwing his 'knowledge' around in mid-roleplay. No offence to you Maurauder, the ideas aren't bad but do not forget, limited are the people to do RP here.
  7. ... It seems people don't understand your humour Lupper
  8. He was being sarcastic...
  9. That's eh... not funny :\
  10. Continuum is a simple game, it has a set of main objectives and ideas in mind from which each zone does develop upon those. In our case, a mixture of turf flag/soccer based gaming with that addition of killing. Our gameplay is only as simple as every other zone. 17th requires a different set of fighting skills to say Trench or Chaos yet in terms of skill, well you aren't going in to a huge change. Our map is more complex than a zones map like Trench yet would you say Chaos had a more advanced map because it's bigger? Or has a wormhole or two? Players are simple? I'm sorry but does the majority of us shout 'OMFG LAG NEWB WITH LUCK STRAY' like in Trench? Or does the player have to have an arrogant and biggorted approach like they do in Chaos? Do tell why 17th is more simple than others? Why it only attracts the newbies of continuum? Is it in terms of our more fast flowing game play which of fighting and objective playing? In that case we don't attract newbs because we don't have all ships dishing out 1 hit kills at a fast rate? Of maybe it's too do with the 'personal development' of our ships? We don't have a set of constant greening to make our ships better just to fight someone which deters people from playing 17th? Most people who come into the game will start in the biggest zone for reasons of it being more populated. Means they can learn quicker they hope. They find it is easy to kill - one hit bliss. They come to other zones like 17th and find it requires more skill and time to achieve the kill that gives us more satisfaction in knowing we properly gunned down an enemy. Yet because the idea of easy kills rests in their heads along with this 'newb' idea implanted by half the moron population of Trench, that deters them more when we tell them to shut the !@#$%^&* up after they whine constantly? Your own statement has just proven how smart you truely are and the ideals you have set out for what you want in a zone. I ask you one last time - I won't reply anymore to you in this thread. Please sit down and be quiet you !@#$%^&*. Until you can figure out what you saying without laying down contradictions and snap backs to your own ignorance then I don't want to here what your latest idea in the pipeline of development for a better 17th is - especially when you can't understand what the idea of SubSpace/Continuum is. Upon the note of settings to pernille: I suggest keeping the warbird and weasel, prehaps tweak various other ships. Many seem upset with things like the lack of X cloaked ships now or the lack of terrier players. Prehaps that is where the main focus should be now?
  11. I felt an 'Ouch' there :S
  12. 20 people tops who play? Well unless 17th has dropped over the past few days i've been away it seems to have at least a 60 player base dedicated to 17th who come on at various times as well as now at least a healthy 8 vs 8 being common and the population boom on a saturday when a league game is hosted. Hmmm... ok I don't know you, to this zone I only have a few months experiance yet from all your years of knowledge I assume all you appear to be doing is bashing everything else except what you personally make or put some sort of effort in to. Would it be an idea to go back your own zone if that is the only thing you are interested in? Sit back and think before you speak - hearing the constant !@#$%^&*ing about what you hate over and over with the odd sneak of "What I have done is better" is annoying me and no doubt some others :\ Your opinion means !@#$%^&* if it isn't constructive over anything other than your inflatable ego. Ok; now back on topic! ^^
  13. I prefer current warbird now. Like the weasel - would like to see its energy put back to 1200 though. Also afterburners come in to mind upon it. Not as effective as warbird but roughly similar? Terrier seems better now than before. I would like to see Styles levi placed in, instead of the current one. His is more fun lol. When it comes to burst though, all ships (including spid really) seem affected by the lack of getting hit by them
  14. 3 things about ship sets. 1) Spider has a shot that goes backwards. Although it's... interesting it does seem almost useless but if it does't affect the drain or fire suppose it's not that bad a add on. 2) Levi bullets are fun, it's quite fast which suprises me - in a way that's better. The bombs are... well overall this is a different levi to any experianced in 17th 3) Small weasel... I don't think this, never have, never will. Terrible ship. I prefer the current one in pub to that.
  15. I've commented before about how I like it but one thing still not changed which I feel should. The centre... it's large and it's empty, no problem I suppose -but- I would like to see some scattering of asteroids around there. Just empty space is a lil on the boring side and small asteroids add something to the fight rather than something to hide behind. I believe we talked about this on the other thread. Everything else isn't bit, bit snazzy really - although not sure about the long route in left base. Seems as if it would be unused.
  16. Seems you logged on at the wrong time Axius. Yesterday for a good 4-5 hours a leathy game of (on average) 13 vs 13 was going on. It peaked at 16 vs 16 at one point, with a low of about 10 vs 10. Depends on the day and time of course but well, was good fun last night.
  17. It seems that in my opinion, without damage being set to doing standard damage like it was in the old set, we have instead now random placed damage that means sometimes you require 6 or 7 bombs to kill a warbird or javelin, while bullets - especially on the weasel are pointless. It has been stated fights are taking too long because the damage is not high and therefore it requires twice as much time to kill an enemy if at all possible in anything other than a duel. For this, I suggest that damage is reversed back to a set amount, preferably with the rough settings of old sets (with prehaps a 25% increase in power. That of course can be talked about). A set damage would be we could see a greater potential of the ships and understand how they work better - afterall, how can you judge on a ship that does a random set of damage? This in turn might mean a bit of a shout out; especially against those who complained when a terrier outshot a javelin. A levithan can outshoot a levithan yet you do not complain about that? The simple word to help out in that situation: Dodge Just because a ship can outshoot around in a headlong rush does not mean it needs to be penialized, it just means you need to take a different approach. After all we ARE trying to create a more skillful environment are we not? So teaching people to dodge can be one of those steps. A poll has been included below - feel free to vote and place a comment down if you want. This isn't official but hopefully it will give staff a better idea of what we want. Damage set to an amount will help us evaluate these ship settings. Stockholm Syndrome
  18. I would just to say to some people, yes my experiance in 17th is limited, but upon continuum it isn't. In fact my years on this game out number yours. This doesn't mean i'm better or have more experiance in everything but unlike someone who say has played continuum for a lesser time and noly in one or two zones, your opinion yes is the same as mine but your knowledge of what is right sometimes can be lacking, but of course, everyone has a right to speak. Vote bot should not go up for a few weeks. If it had gone up yesterday it would of been spammed with !vote no. People don't like changes - that is a fact. People become used to a routine and prefer to stick to it. Unfortunantly this means that 17th will have less players to pull in over time unless something was done. Therefore a change was needed, it was applied to the zone and at least a weeks testing is needed before any sort of vote is put down. Upon comments on the warbird, I... hmmm... I feel I will get used to it. By the way it plays it seems less of a inner basing ship now. More centralized upon the out skirts of base, just inside base and in the centre, the warbird's aimshave changed which makes it strange to play in a balling game. It seems weaker, maybe it is with the drop of 150 energy but I never felt it did need a change, it was balanced in my eyes compared to the other sets. Yet I suppose a tweaking change was needed to comply with the other sets and so this is what has happened. The map I stand by as being better. Maybe it does need to be changed to east and west but at the moment, bringing the bases in to the centre more is the only thing I would advise with Sever's words. In all truth, don't complain on the new things like this. This is much different to a movable flag game or KOTH. It's the zone's iden!@#$%^&*y as mentioned; but if this is the old map surely it is MORE linked to what the zone should be like and in fact was. Things will need to be changed upon sets and such, take that in to consideration but how about playing around with all ships, exploring the map and getting a feel of this new 17th without any negative vibes before you pick up on if you like it. Two final notes: ~Terrier needs changing. It has been said many times ~Levithan does need some sort of movement increase via portals and rockets.
  19. Infantry CTF zones are more extreme, action packed SS turf games but with more style, flair and imagination involved. A few bombs around a corner and a wall rush won't work 75% of the time. You needed to apply different techniques and classes of troops and abilities to storm and raid a well defended enemy base.
  20. First and foremost. The 17th you knew is on it's last legs. It has been this past week. A HUGE drop in public play, a lack of players and generally... it was on it's death bed. Seriously, something needed to be changed and changed ASAP. A change has come about... and I smile Vile, you have done something most intruiging. Where as I am newthe zone and told this is the old map used many years back, I like it. Both bases are different, simple to guide through and that means it's more interesting. Note: I'll use interesting alot in here... interesting is good So let's talk politics! I'm not going to list each and every ship, all I have to say is... 1) I'm not happy about the warbird losing energy for speed, BUT I might grow to like it. Afterall, it's another concept of dog fighting. 2) Levi should gain rockets and a portal. Then it would be fun 3) Terrier has become the now over powered ship. 8 mines, 3 repels, silly amount of bullet runners in public... ew 4) No matter what anyone says, KEEP THE WEASEL MINE. Seriously, that thing is sweet. It adds flair to what I thought was a ship to kill 17th. Only thing I would want on Weasel now is slightly better speed. Seems for a half dog fighter it lacks in gaining momentum upon an enemy. I quote: That is genius! The rest of the ships I would need to play more but all the others are in my favour. One last thing; Do NOT change back. Keep this or let the zone die. You have one chance to make it better, I feel this will do it, I feel although alot of people will whine and complain, most will get over it, more will be drawn in and the zone population will grow. !@#$%^&* at 9 v 9 in pubc, how can you complain at the moment? So I lay this upon everyone who dislikes the change because: 1) it has weakened their ship in their eyes (too lazy to relearn something quickly) 2) Your favourite hidey hole has been removed 3) Your favourite 'trap' or 'signature spot' has been changed or removed 4) You just dislike having to greater your skills on SS This change will make or break 17th if it says permanant. I hope it will, I have faith ^^ Do you? Every single one of you who doubts these settings to the one that was KILLING pub. Go have a long think then come back and lay down your answers. 21. Maybe one of you guys should host a server?
  22. OOC: Havn't recieved a pm from anyone yet. None from earlier and none now o.o;
  23. Yep. But with the paying of money it slowly started to die and now practicly is after they removed a bunch of good zones and added crappier new ones. This new server up is suppose to give it for free but the admins are !@#$%^&*holes really :z
  24. How... quirky... From every zone I've ever played on Continuum, when entering a safe zone with flag, the flags are instantly deposited outside of the safe zone and you do not have them anymore. Does 17th have something different about it that does not allow this?
