It depends what you classify as legal or illegal. In my opinion "legal" includes all guns that were originally intended for legal purchase/use. This includes all the legally bought guns that get stolen and sold on the black market. If you can unequivocably tell me that those guns were illegally imported and were not just stolen guns sold to you through some sort of dealer then i'll believe it's that easy. To all of you who say it'll be just as easy to import guns (like drugs), then consider this: A bag of drugs, that is equal in weight to a gun, is probably worth 10 times as much. So why would a drug dealer waste space importing guns at 1/10 the profit? Now consider my argument that only the professional criminals get the guns in an anti-gun society. To make importation profitable the price of guns would have to rise significantly for it to be worthwhile to the importers - and there you have it, the petty thiefs, druggies and muggers are cut out of the equation, unless they want/can spend a fortune on a gun. Basic economics, example - England, shootings are rare, and the last thing i'd expect a thug on the street to have is a gun. I couldn't say the same for America. In America you may be able to buy a gun for 50 bucks... i don't know personally, but i doubt you'd find someone willing to import one for that, and i doubt you'd find a meth-druggy or a petty thief willing or able to spend 500 bucks for one.

yeah, someone trash this. You're all over-analysing an irrelevent situation, and i can't seem to make a sarcastically petty attack on someone without that person coming on to me...

Left out? If i was in any way "left in" i would have died hours ago in a pool of vomit.

The army cannot have it's weapons used for anything other than official duty and training and should restrict their use to avoid the possibility that a lower ranked soldier might do something stupid or undisciplined. The way i see it, the army bought those guns and owns those guns, and therefore has the right to restrict their use upon loaning them to soldiers. As for personal guns, it's probably more to protect the base from security risks. I don't expect any ordinary citizens to be able to bring their guns into the base either. A personal gun could be left somewhere by its owner, making it a security risk. If its a base you're talking about, then they have every right to restrict you from carrying a gun in there if they want to. Some places have to be gun-restricted, such as schools. The problem arises in America when you have a gun-restricted area, bordered (surrounded) by a pro-gun country. You get massacres by people breaking the rules. I don't know if Washington is still anti gun, but what you had there was a city going anti-gun and the crime rate going up... for the simple reason that the people were unable to defend themselves. A city's borders are not sufficient to stop criminals bringing guns into the city. The only way to stop guns is to make a country-wide ban. That Korean guy bought his legally, and the Columbine killers got theirs through a friend who bought the guns legally. Thousands of guns are also stolen each year from people who bought them legally. In my opinion, the legal system of selling guns is what is arming the criminals. Only the professional criminals with the connections and the money to import guns go down that method. The meth-druggies, street muggers, and psychopathic m!@#$%^&*-murdering teens go down the route available to them. Unfortunately we're more likely to meet this type of criminal than a professional !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*in.

Seconded Syrus. LOSE Well, you're annoying enough. I don't think it's possible for a guy to be so argumentative. Not to mention the: ...

When did you start playing subspace and under what alias ?
SeVeR replied to Killerbot's topic in General Discussion
lol Mike, you came on under a different alias and asked me why i chose that name didn't you? and me not knowing it was you said it was to mock your name, or "taking the piss" as i would have put it. If it wasn't you, then someone else asked, but it seemed so suspicious at the time... i bet it was you, since you seem to know. It was more because i liked your name than anything, but it seemed like a better idea to joke around instead. How close did you come to banning me? -
So you're "pointing out" that the labels are irrelevent, and don't actually have a problem with people who use them? If that's the case, then your comments are simply a criticism of the level of detail used to describe these madmen. What a pointless contribution you've made. Panties untwisted. In my opinion, race is very relevent, and to ignore race would be ignoring the effect of cultural differences. The alienation that one may feel from being an asian living in America is very relevent to this killers psyche. But feel free to ignore that, along with every other identifying trait of this killer, you'd make a great cop lol.

Jack the Ripper was the BRITISH madman. Klebold and Harris were the WHITE columbine killers. Al-Qaeda were the 9/11 MUSLIM m!@#$%^&*-murdering suicide terrorists, and i'm a WHITE man who is tired of mere observations about physical appearance, with no hostile feelings attached, being interpreted as racial disdain. So ok fine, i'm a big bad white racist! Happy now? Go police some other forum for the morally delinquent. This is the politically correct world we live in.... and you can !@#$%^&*ing have it.

..s are teh ghey. I downloaded the movie knowing it would be good, but just didn't have the patience when i realised it had sub-!@#$%^&*les.

Um, well if you look at the date i made that post, you might realise that i didn't even know he was a long-term resident in the States at the time. ...and for your information, it doesn't matter if he was indian, black, white or eskimoish, i was only referring to what i thought his residential status was. If he was Norwegian i would have said the same thing. Anyway, freedom of speech is important. If you don't want to hear or see some idiot using the name of the gunman in subspace, then ignore it. Your outrage is your way of aligning yourself with what you think is morally acceptable. There's no real reason to be angry with the person for being an idiot. Do you think that by getting the person banned you'd be shielding people from the pain of seeing this idiot in action?

Pain is the universal deterrent. Harsh words can be ignored.

Our lives are our own to ruin. And if they become losers then you'll be more valuable to society than they are, allowing you to make more money.

I think the guy he killed who lived in the dorm with his gf was the one !@#$%^&*ing her, but maybe you're right... he could have just been taking a piss at the wrong time. -EDIT- Actually, your version doesn't make sense, cos why would he be killing girls as well as guys in the engineering block? Unless she was bi... hmm, ok no.

Continuum politics... it's like toddlers with plastic guns playing army men.

His girlfriend probably broke up with him and attacked his 'loner' image or something. That would have been the trigger for him to shoot her in the same way many other people kill their lovers in rage. The gap of two hours was probably spent in complete panic rather than cold pre-meditated planning. He would have feared the consequences of his actions to the point where he felt he had nothing left to live for, and so he attacked the other people in his life who he blamed for his misery, and who unknowingly contributed to his present situation - random students. It makes sense that a loner would indiscriminately kill the people around him, he would see them as a group attacking him rather than as individuals.

How did an asian immigrant student get two powerful handguns? I'd like to see him try and take down 32 people with a knife... without one of the students or teachers disarming him and kicking his !@#$%^&*. I agree with Ail that understanding is the key. But in addition we have to look at gun laws. The Columbine killers cir!@#$%^&*vented them easily enough to obtain legally bought guns, and now we get some loner asian kid walking around with handguns? Sure professional criminals and !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*ins get guns illegally through their connections, but your average socially inept teenager isn't a professional criminal and will go down the routes available to him. You're not likely to ever meet a professional !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*in in your life but you are likely to meet an aggressive teen, a meth addicted druggy, or a street mugger.

I would if i could. Haven't been able to play 17th since coming back to uni in january. I can get into all the other zones fine, so whether its my uni-net blocking 17th in particular or just 17th being gay... i don't know.

I worked for the Rutgers Physics department last year and still receive staff emails. In my opinion the use of emotional language by the Rutgers President is more shocking than the original remarks: Where was the denunciation of New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin when he asked for a chocolate city? He even got elected. Why is there a black history month when all this does is actively discriminate against non-blacks? It's the emphasis of our differences that widens the gap. Anything that emphasises the difference between blacks and whites or which treats one group differently, even if its a celebration, reinforces racism. We should be ignoring those differences and treating everyone the same, thats what equality is.

The end is near. Destroy them all while you still have the chance.

It's a ban on fun for the purpose of improving society. You make a very good argument Aileron and even though i'm a bit of a socialist i still have to disagree. We learn from our mistakes and geeks who spend too many hours playing computer games will see their intelligence going to waste, their bodies getting fat, and their hopes of incredible wealth going down the toilet. It's a lesson some people have to learn. I've never played these games but have played Continuum as much as 12 hours a day sometimes during the summer. It was my choice and i'd have been extremely pissed off if i hadn't been able to play. Fun and happiness are how we unwind, and if i've spent 2 months revising for exams, 2 weeks of constant gaming helps in the recovery process. Even if i was wasting my life away playing games i'd still want the chance to learn that lesson. We learn by experience, not by absorbing rules that we may or may not see the point of.
