do you think i dont close all programs? ive closed firewall, antivirus, turned off stretched wallpaper, i only find this weird because ive rarely had PL past 0.1% and not had it for every zone i enter..... the thing with mine is it really does show not just small position jumps full weapons lag i fire a bomb and it goes thru ppl i fire a gun and it dissappears straight away agh its bad -DJ muppetmaster-

Yes i know what S2C means. but in every single zone including those hosted by myself? and we both get 0.6% PL and my friend next door with 512kb gets 0.0%PL both ways? not sure if ur rite -DJ muppetmaster-

READ WHOLE POST! i just updated on windowsupdate, i had this prob before and after i put in direct x 9.0b, my windows xp is SP1 becuz i updated but i still have this prob after update, it may possibly microsoft .net framework , and oh yer the problem is only on my xp hard disk, and yes ive reinstalled and installed loadsa times. And oh yer thanx to Bargeld for the page flipping thing that worked perfect for my other problem. However i need to play continuum on my xp hard disk as my gfx software is on the hard disk and i need it on the same one so i can update my crappy zone NTC Ultimate Turfing anyway if ya can help it wud be gr8 oh yer and i know for a FACT i have no spyware/adware or any other junk like that... but thanx all the same... -DJ muppetmaster-

more info on problem: I tryed it again and i then logged off a dialog box came up with | DLL initialization failed! | the application failed load because the workstation is shutting down [OK] (or sumfing like that)

im sorry, but if uve been playing since late 1990s u shud have recieved that error message a mul!@#$%^&*ude of times, its someone logging in with wrong password, maybe it works there because the zone is using a different biller. Try another zone with another prefix before it (e.g SSZ, NTC, SSN etc) -DJ muppetmaster-

Yer i get the same problem although my set up isnt as fancy as urs i got 1mb dsl and ive had no lag trouble for ages since i changed from 56k to it but suddenly for some reason i get probs including my PL at 0.6% and c2s usually below 0.1%, wtf is going on? this isnt just in ssc zones in other zones my PL is always at 0.2%

ok, i think ive sorted it, only i got another problem which has been annoying me for ages, ive got two hard drives on one computer and i got windows xp on one, i played continuum on my xp 1 for ages, suddenly for some reason the thing didnt start anymore and the cursor changed to a busy hourgl!@#$%^&*, i tried ctrl alt and del and saw the continuum program jumping up and down the list i tried ending the process but all i get is "This operation is invalid for its purpose" and then it carrys on doing it and eventually freezes up my comp evry time i try and close it but have to restart to stop it, i thought it might be a corrupt installation so i redownloaded it but it hasnt worked anyone know whats going on? Id be grateful if you could help -DJ muppetmaster-

the installation is fine its worked fine for ages, ive managed to sort out the lag issue by overclocking with my processor but i cant sort out the gfx, i can also see the game perfect in windowed mode, however this slows it down considerably, thanx for replying -DJ muppetmaster-

OK, heres my prob, for starters, i have a decent computer, Amd athlon xp 1700+ processor, and an Nvidia riva tnt2 md64 32 mg gfx card, my computer has never let me down in the past however, i started experiencing massive lag and packetloss on my 1mb broadband connection. I !@#$%^&*umed it was my gfx card drivers since i had trouble with it on my WinXP comp, so i looked for the drivers specific for my gfx card and installed them, it worked fine on desktop, then when i ran continuum it went crazy, i went into metal gear ctf and there was a black translucent thing over the game which kept on moving up and downover the game it was visible through it but not gr8 i tryed other zones i went into trench wars and the problem was there except even worse, the black thing was completely covering 75% of the screen from down to up, and what was worse i couldnt even see through it, however, i manged to steer myself to the safety zone at the side and the black moving thing allowed me to see the rest of the screen again, but kept on flicking from the picture to the black thing, im sure its a bug as on the black thing i can see the backgrounds stars on it, but only the ones that are not bm2 files in the gfx folder, i have tried lower res, lower colour depth, and even installing the latest direct x and nothing is working, if u can help please do in anyway possible.... thanx -DJ muppetmaster-
