Why do you have to make the ball... so close? Make it, so that you have to take the ball to 8, then to another warper which makes you go around the outside (hypertunnels) in a square (because a blocker disallows you to take a shortcut) to the other side where you will then be warped to the goals, then raise the goal formula and goal freqency will drop but people will still have a reason to if the goal reward is high.
