  1. Attention everyone, i have talked with Yzen, and he made the suggestion to focus right now on the WZ invitational because if it does not turn out decently, then the problem of the SSO even working is mute. so right now, im going to hold off on continuing the planning until it is over. I will repost after the WZ invitational is over
  2. I am currently planning along with a few other people, of coordinating the First Ever Supspace Olympics. Lemme know what u think.. What is the Subspace Olympics? The Subspace Olympics is a multi-zone tournament. There is one round in each zone and whoever has the most points at the end wins the tourny. How many players should be recruited per team? How many teams are allowed? It is suggested that at least 15 players and up to 30 should be on each team. This allows for each team to have an adequate amount of spectators and subs. One team ONLY will be allowed to represent their respective zone. What should the Zone elected Captain do once he/she is selected? Each team’s captain should contact me, rootbear75, at rootbear75@cox.net with a complete list of the team roster. Also a preferred day and time that will best accommodate his/her team should be submitted. The captain is responsible for getting his team ready with practice time (whether it privately scheduled with other teams or not) and direct coordination with the offical Subspace Olympic Committee (still being determined) Zone elected Captains are also responsible for management of their respective teams (rostering, communication with teammates, starting lineups, etc.). How many rounds are there? And can i have my zone host one of the rounds? The total number of rounds is to be determined. It will most likely be between 5 and 10. If you want your zone to be hosting one of the rounds, it has to be balanced from the start. For example, (in my opinion) Hyperspace is NOT a good host for a round because it depends on each person's skill and how long they play. Trench Wars is a good host, because it is two teams competing for a single goal. Myself or the committee is not making solid requirements as of yet, but if you want your zone to host a round, please ?message me in game, or email me at rootbear75@cox.net. How long will the game last for? It will most likely be held over multiple days. One or two rounds a day. The average round, based on watching the multiple zones, will be up to 1 hour. The actual game time will vary. Are there any restrictions to gameplay? None that i can think of. The restrictions are set by each zone's default rules. Will there be a prize for the winning team? Yes. A banner will be created that depicts the winning team and their zone. This will enable the winning zone bragging rights for having “The Best of the Best” of Subspace/Continuum flaggers until the next Subspace Olympics. Any additional prizes or side bets optional and open for discussion. When are the Olympics going to be held? It depends on when we can get the teams signed up, when we can get the committee all sorted out. Can I be on the committee? To be on the Subspace Olympic Committee, it is extremely PREFERABLE that you are a staff member. This will enable the easiest coordination between the committee and the staff. Your zone must host one of the rounds. This is different than your zone being in one of the rounds, as i will be contacting the captains anyway. The Committee is for the planning purposes of the committee. I am still formulating other ideas in my head as of now. If i think of anything else that needs to be said, i will let you know. Any other questions please post. I have heard of someone attempting and failing. I would really like for this go on. Thanks.
  3. okay.. those results are void, cause that isnt possible
  4. well then, lets rectify your mistake and try again, shall we? that was my original plan anyway. why should it be me? why not? why does it have to be some SSC admin? and its not like its happening right now. all those things you mentioned, i have thought of... except the site >.< like i have said before, many many times across all the forums: It all depends on the successfulness of the WZ Invitational. If it is successful, we will continue on from there, with the WZ Invitational being the first round. i have even talked with Yzen, and he thinks its a good idea... ALL THE PEOPLE I HAVE TALKED TO SAID THAT THIS IS A GOOD IDEA! We just need people to plan it. Which is why i am asking for people to join the committee and represent their zones.
  5. im not just starting pollsits a copy of the same topic in the General forum, but im thinking that most of HS does not visit the main forums....
  6. you see... this is the exact point im trying to make its not gonna be done with those at!@#$%^&*udes. the whole reason that it failed imo, was that everyone said "cant be done" and the ppl organizing it believed em This whole thing is gonna depend on the successfulness of the WZ Invitational. If the WZ invitational goes off decently, then there is reasonable belief that this should do nearly as well. back to the topic on hand, im still looking for zones who want a round hosted, or who want to be in the SSO. if ur team wants to use the same roster, just lemme know and ill get the rosters from Yzen.

  12. I was talking to Yzen about the WZ invitational, and i thought of expanding it into the First Triennial or Biennial (not sure how often yet) Subspace Olympics (some questions taken from the WZ invitational topic w/ the answers changed) What is the Subspace Invitational?
