  2. I had the same huge packet loss spikes for a while... it's just the internet tubes clogging up It will most likely change with a new ISP
  3. It probably self-updates when Bak puts up a new release version, but dev builds are not the same thing
  4. What is the dimension of a ship? If you want to make a hole to fire through, but that ships can'T go through, what size would that have to be?
  5. lol pen & paper, dude Do like in the movies, program it all without testing or ever needing to check your syntax.
  6. I could do that lvz module I guess. Should be a nice warm-up to get used to the discretion world I'm guessing these UniqueImage and Animations support all the same features as LVZ mapobjects/screenobjects? I'll have to check it out
  7. <---- look right here ... I keep hitting 'edit' instead of reply :/
  8. Will you get the first rendered edges with it? I only saw you rendering spheres with it yet
  9. Yeah, the last hop shows 0 loss and a stable 90ms... What shows up when you do ?lag in the zone (after a couple of minutes ingame) ?
  10. Pretty good To avoid extra work, I suggest making the texture very... coarse to begin with, and finalize the model, then tweak the texture for a final result. No use in finalizing a texture if the model is not final, or you'll have to rework it anyway I could be wrong, though, I'm no pro at this The lanc is nice, the wings could get some details, and I dunno about all these missiles things... Since Continuum fires single bombs, infinitely, I'd go for some kind of thing where energy-based bombs could get out from, and only one gun if you want to be svs-compliant. These components should be similar on all the ships for consistency. I know it's not a final model, just saying Other small accessories that could appear on the belly of ships would be... scanners, antennas, cameras, ... perhaps some kind of door to climb in the ship from the ground; unless you get in the cockpit directly like a fighter jet. It's not worth doing these for a 32x32 ship, but for a high-res ship it would be nice
  11. What? Media tags embed the video in the page... what more do you want? HTML is not allowed for obvious security/spammage reasons
  12. LOL @ preview image... wut... will have to watch this when I get home (using remote desktop connection to post this, can't watch videos)
  13. Everytime I look at this topic title my brain goes: "SPAM!!! DELETE! BAN!"
  14. Lean to read... isn't that what old people do?
  15. hmmmm perhaps
  16. You can make a gif from an avi or whatever pretty easily... get some converter
  17. GOGO GADGETCOPTER!!! hulu only works in the US though
  18. It would be very useful for some specific purposes if the bomb graphic was rotated depending on its flying angle; for missiles or arrows kinds of graphics, for example. Same for bullets, actually
  19. Whoah, it is We should make one for Continuum in general... I'm sure we have some people with the talent to make some nice short videos

    GO DIE PC

To Ignore on Forums: 1. Make sure you are logged in. 2. Click on that drop down list with your name and click Manage Ignored Users. 3. Scroll down a bit and you should see a box where you can enter the name of a person you wish to ignore. Add whoever you wish to ignore and make sure Ignore Personal Conversations and Ignore Posts are checked. Fixed with 2 steps less I'd say he is, which would explain his replies

    Base Hunt

Looks like FR can be fielded completely quite easily, especially with its concave shape
  22. Hmmmmmm, I was thinking about this... Questions: 1) Is it possible to know if Discretion is installed on a system, and where it is? Any registry key or something? 2) Can LVZ's be loaded for the offline map? 3) Can the offline map be reloaded instead of having to close the map and come back? i.e. the equivalent of ?go when there are changes made to a map and you're already in there. 4) (Related to 3) More importantly, would it be possible to trigger this from an external program? i.e. with a WindowMessage or something like that? Plan: 1) I'd add command line arguments like '-offline ' to start the offline practice mode automatically, if is specified, it uses it for the offline testing. 2) It would need to also load .cfg settings, and a list of LVZ files, using custom gfx and sounds in those LVZ's if applicable. 3) If you make modifications to the map in DCME, and hit 'test' again while Discretion is already running (and in offline mode), it would simply reload the map. 4) DCME would check if Discretion is installed, and use it where it is installed if it is. Else, it will offer you to download it before using the Test feature. (I'll have to modify the (sucky) update manager to allow optional downloads) I know all of these things 'can' technically be done, but do you see any potential issue, or things in the architecture of your program that would make some parts of it impossible? All of these things need to work only for offline mode, and maybe there are some security issues that could, I dunno, allow someone to load any map from DCME in the zone he's in or something? PS: I just updated my SVN Discretion folder... lol: 94,37 MBytes transferred Added:2919 Deleted:42 Updated:174 Nice. I still have lots of things to do with DCME before I get there, though. Edit: Changed topic title from 'lightweight stand-alone client' to something that makes more sense now
  23. Is your desktop still at 1600?
