What are the requirements to get on SSC now? I remember you needed a T1 before, is this still the case? i want to bring back an old zone that used to be on SSC in the good old days but I have only 512k up. I should be able to get a better connection but I dont think I'll need it unless it gets a shitload of players.

or even as a browser plugin like quake live tons of people would start using it. These days everyone wants to do stuff *now*. No time for installers, besides most people are far too dumb to know how to install a thing anyway. There are people out there now using computers who wouldn't have been left near a computer 10 years ago and they only just know how to use a web browser all the cool kids are outsourcing their life to google and facebook and digging the whole web-based thing wasting tons of bandwidth and cpu on using a web browser for things it was never designed to do so why dont ss join in? that way all the oldskool folk will have a fresh supply of n00b lolcats to shoot up when sitting in spec gets too boring. i personally hate all this 'cloud computing' and web 2.0 stuff and think client-server is the way to go but if we had lots of n00bs using web-based clients to kill things would be much better

you get this !@#$%^&* in every zone.. even in hyperspace they are jack!@#$%^&*es. ok there are a few zones that are run by somewhat mature folks but most of them are not, even the guys on SSC are power abusers, and those are supposed to be setting an example for the rest of us. all this !@#$%^&* is not good for the game

i get free satellite radio, never use it but its there. on DVB satellites, they stream out a few 100 digital radio channels per sat. some good, most bad. not like sirius or XM where its made into a nice little product/package thing but its still there. i know a guy who listens to the radio on it but i personally can't be bothered

as far as i can remember L1 = netban up to 15 years, L2 = zone wide ban for up to 1 year. L3 is like max 1 month zone wide. and there are some special features with each of the levels also. i'm sure its in a do!@#$%^&*ent somewhere in the archives
