  1. A) Thanks! your probably one of the VERY FEW who think that B )I Agree. C) You have a very good point there, and if someone couldn't pay it back, they would become very annoyed at losing their parts and probably leave, like when you played through 3/4 of Final fantasy X and your memory card broke D) Now here's where i object. Firstly, Too much money is going around in the zone. Thats half the reason this thread is up. I don't think your reasoning is based on so much a p2p enviroment, but i think you meant less money, more incovenience in your game, which is half of what we want. Personally, i would rather newbies having to buy ammo ect, instead of money taxing, constantly raising prices, and doin that sort of stuff. Because the money going around in the zone is TOO much. If this was real P2P, i wouldn't be playing. I agree, time based repairs maybe was crossing the line, but however, it gets rid of a large base of the money problems. With reloading, I think its a great idea, with pros and cons... being: Pros 1. It helps with the overall monetary problems. 2. It cuts down slightly on Jav-lamers, although the majority wont be affected 3. Because it only should apply to bombs, people will tend to use guns more, which overall makes the zone a tad more newbie-friendly, because simply, you dont get killed first hit by a blue gun. And you do with a blue bomb, as long as your on your first ship, with no upgrades. 4. It makes the zone look very complex, but however, by the time someone goes out and buys bombs, they will be familar with most of the system. 5. It would be put in place quickly, as it seems to be the least complicated system of them all. Cons 1. It makes the game slightly less enjoyable for those used to the 'physics' of a jav 2. It leaves less money in your pocket (which is really our objective, so it shouldn't be here) 3. Some newbs will be scared away if they buy javs first, and l1 bombs, which, in my opinion, would be rather rare. To tell you the truth, i think reloading is possibly the best idea yet. IMO, the pros heavily outweigh the cons, due to the fact that our main objective here is to cut down the monetary scale. Well, the money in the player's pockets anyways. I dont know if its an offical descion, but most of the staff agree, there are too many people giving out cash in the millions like spare change.
  2. not really trained, alot of ppl are curious about how to become staff, this is how i did it, so you can basically shut ur trap
  3. i was at my dads, and i was bored....
  4. you know you want to tell us ladd... sorry... that sounded gay. Tell us why you are net-banned
  5. i like the multiple engines idea...
  6. I was searchin for new zones to try out, so i got the full list down, as you do. After searchin about 300 test zones i say one that looked offical enough... so i tried it. Being staff there will make no diff to my player exp opinions. Now, when i went in, there were a couple of -*BAD WORD*-os, an event running... and a strange map. I had no idea how this worked, then i saw the bots. (staff opinion ahead) those wretched, ugly piece-of...well... you know... bots shut down every 5-6 minutes. (staff opinion end) The bots wern't bad, i bought myself a warbird, and some other upgrade... then the upgrade didn't get prized. the bots were down. A FLOOD of continual BOT IS DOWN or GET OUT OF CENTER or bot is down or STFU came through like an avalanch. I understood this reasoning when someone won a 50k flag game, and got zilch in the money department, because of this. They got reimburesed, and they kept on flagging... i tried to rally a pub freq, but when i got 5-7 guys there, they were all over us with prox bombs from their decked-out javs.. yep, they had the full cheap ship. Veterans gain a large advantage in this area, and the way that they go about it was quite strange. They run around in a 1 bty warbird, (l1 guns) and maximize their monetary gain because the prizing for kills is soley based on ship amount, and bounty. I reset my acc. i got one of the staff members, who was very friendly and helpful, (coenny) to loan me 100000 to get me restarted. i bought myself a warbird, and then a curious instrument called 'antideath' I !@#$%^&*umed this rendered you somewhat invincable... but no, i was wrong.. .another staff member told me totype !info antideath... (i think bomook)and voila! all the details rushed to me, if the bot wasn't dead at the time i got it, and earnt about 50k in an hour or two... ifyou know how to fly, you earn tonsof money this way, and i somewhat knew. by this time, the players knew me well, and i was on to what everyone else calls late. (9PM here) since i live in New Zealand, i had a VERY convient timezone for fixin the bots...so, i thought i'd give it a shot. I got the zone's co-owner;s permission, he registered me with the master bot (who also dies, but more to the occasional side) and i started up. My mom gave me fishnchips that night, i had cold ones, probably covered with sweat. when i first took up the job, i thought, 'piece of cake, not enuff ppl to think that the bot would go down.... but then, came the huge flood.... oh yes... itwas down. i scrambled for the post-it i had written my commands on...'GOT IT!' i yelled as i quickly typed in the commands, and found no bot. i had summoned a bot to a custom arena... so, i moved the pop there until i could find out howto put it in pub. Everyone complained, but they stayed And then he came. Super-mod! TGG saved the day, and as far as i heard, gave the co-owner an undeserved flaming for not tellin me the right commands... dont get me wrong, he wasn't tryin to fool me, but he forgot one minor detail... Public 1 is '1' so, i ended up gettin semi-hired, andthey learnttostand me, but one of em chose to hate me, as he does all others... anyone who has been in desert storm, who know him, will know EXACTLY which mod im talking about. yes, Power_P(oofter) overall, it wasn't bad, and the moment was short-lived when the owner said: brain> Why is he in staff chat? TGG> i hired him for a while brain> he'll need to be voted on, just like everyone else. Power_P> ouch, -*BAD WORD*--slapped by the doc. Brain> if he's good, he'll go through. sure enough, i went through 5:0 because of forums not being pinned, i thought i could vote as well as the others. BIG mistake.. i dont really remember, but im pretty sure i got a good flaming for that, and then referred to the forums with the rules for 'junior mods' .... junior... not good.... anyways, i continued on, abusing arenas to the max, having random matrix fights with ppl, it was all good. till i tried to host an event. quiz. i sucked at making up questions... but i gave out cash for compensation. i tried to host a race in the hyperspace area... absolutly failed. had to give about 1k to everyone, and they were complaining the rest of the night. MY first *kill was to myself. I made up an annoying character, which was 'Death Be My Foot'. Bomook sure knows this name and i started floodin the chat-rooms with a crazy obsession for stating that the gamesucked. go play some other game. bomook actually enjoyed using *shutup all the time... didn't you bomook... it was Because it was bugging all the other players, i killed the other alias for 5 mins. never came back. anywaysy we got our fairshare of hack threats, which are now net-banned, and we gotour fair share of just stupid ppl, so i *killed them too stupid, as in runing the game for everyone else. Then Dr Brain started talkin all this crap about ASSS. When i started asking about it, i actually didnt find it to be so crappy after all. For those that dont know, its basically bots in a jar...erm...server. And it seemed good. We switched, and LAG INFESTED came running everywhere... chat packets were being dropped, computers were freezing, itwas a disaster. So,brain took it down. And we wait, and lie dormant, waiting for the non-laggy HS to appear before our eyes, in which we will wreak havoc upon, which i wreak ?kick 5874248968 on. (?kick is *kill, now you can get the joke )
  7. now thats a good advantage
  8. yes... but its my opinon!!! dammit, stop it
  9. I was watching letterman acouple of days/weeks ago, and i saw: Dave's unfair edit of the day. "the Bush administration" "is a" "complete" "failure" ... So true.... but im in New Zealand, what wouldi know

we just got fast reply thanks brain
  11. Yay! we have fast reply! anyways, i think grants are a really good incentive for newbies and veterans alike to have a good time, and for once, be on an equal standing
  12. yah, gotta be patient... i think the switch to ASSS is alot better than us mods restarting a faultybot all the time.
  13. i guess, but dosn't that already = a reload?
  14. i like the idea of 50 bombs per 1k, and i like how its only equal to it... it would be a good deterrant for those who use the lame ships... and maybe if we tweak the price a bit higher, we could in turn make the remedy for the money problems.. IMO, i like your thinking.
  15. heey quig, hope you had a good time...

thinking about that, will we get a passworded, staff forum back? it was VERY useful. i know that your only a member here, but could you reqest it brain? (PLEEEAA!@#$%^&*EE?)
  18. my smallish idea is that your ship needs maintinance every so often, which costs cash, say, 200-500 every 5 mins of flying or so. this gives pros a slight disadvantage, because they have to maintain ALL ships at once, which will end up in 1600-4000 just to repair one. this will get more money 'into the fat tray, and out of your life!' and if you dont repair, you see a few things starting to break off, like that much-needed repel when 30 bombs are heading for your -*BAD WORD*-. also, energy will deplete, SLOWLY. which in turn, can reach a point where you are practically stranded, and when you die, you gain your ship back, and you are told to use a different ship for about 1 minute, if you can. if you only have one ship, matinance can apply, only to a lesser extent, and the ship repair rule (one min away from your precious lamer ship when you die ) should not apply to people with less than 5 session usage, and those with one ship. possibly you could increase the cost with the more parts bought...say, Base cost: 1/10 of the base ship cost. Cost of slot upgrades of any kind: 1/10 of any upgrade cost. Cost of repairing a killed ship none for: those with one ship. Cost = base cost + all upgrades miltiplied by X which is the amount of sips owned. Lets just say, for example, i had a terrier, with 5 thrust, 5 rotation. i died. It would not cost anything. if i had a terr, and a jav, with the same stats, and my terr died.. its 1/10 of the cost to purchase ship = base cost. = lets say, it was 20k. it would be 2k to fix. all slot upgrades at 1000 = cost of 100 x 2 (2 ships) = 2000 to fix. all other upgrades = none = 0$ to fix enhancers (if we have em) all the other parts on the enhancer must be fixed as well. so, one 5 slot enhancer, same rule as ships costs 5k. that sorta thing.
