About a month ago the Council approved SSL for SSC connectivity. Due to some delays with ops being out of town, including SSL's admin, the official launch was delayed. But now SSL is finally added to the firewall, SSC "Slots" have been added, and SSL zones can now take advantage of SSC. SSCL adds to the growing list of SSC approved hosts who give full support to ASSS on linux, and helps to continue the effort to turn SSC into a more diverse community of zones. Congrats and Good Luck.

The 16th season of the Realistic Subspace Hockey League has reached the final destination: the Blackie Cup Finals. Dirtybirds and Reppowarriors start a best-of-5 game series tonight, April 7th, at 10 PM EDT in SSCE Hockey/Football Zone. All are invited to attend to watch. There will be fierce competition and memorable moments. If you've never seen an ASSS replay clip before, this is an excellent opportunity. Highlight reels will be played after the game. Game 2 is tomorrow night, April 8th, at 10 PM EDT. Check Center Ice for schedules and updates. Note: if HZ appears down for you, try refreshing your zone list.

1) pick the number of times a week you would like to have sex (pick more than 1) 2) multiply this number by 2. (just to be bold) 3) Now, add 5 (for sunday) 4) Then, multiply it by 50. 5) If you have already had your birthday this year add 1760. If you haven't, add 1759. 6) Now, subtract the four digit year that you were born. The 1st digit of this was your original number (the number of how many times you wanted to have sex in a week. The second 2 digits are your age. Mind = Blown

A few hours ago my kernel forced a memdump after having attached ignore packets to resource overload alerts from multitasking on too many unique instructions simultaneously. I had exceeded my capable number of execution threads. I then felt disoriented and confused for a while as my memory fully desaturated to 0% allocation.

A lot of comments I have received on SSO are that the content on larger resolutions is sometimes hard to read. The site was designed with 1024x768 in mind, but most users have moved on to wide screen resolutions, larger resolutions, or a combination of both. Still keeping 1024x768's browser width in mind, I did increase the content font size to make it a bit more readable on larger browsers. This also required me to increase the content box area, and make a few other minor design width changes. Overall I think it still looks perfectly fine, though some pages will need tweaks here and there. But it also does give room on some pages for more content to fit in without caus…

I'm doing research on the topic of "Smoking on Campus" as part of my ENG-150 Technical Writing course's curriculum. This is a group project, and I have been assigned to do the interviewing part of the project. I plan on asking students, smoking students, and campus stuff questions; this makes 3 different sets of questions. If you had the opportunity to interview (a) a non-smoking student, ( a smoking student, and © a staff member of the campus/college/university, what questions might you ask? So far this is what I have: (a) a non-smoking student http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/ENG150_Questions_Students.pdf ( a smoking student http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/ENG150_Questio…

Ok I made a spreadsheet to keep track of bets and profits from those bets. I'm trying to get the "Most Profitable Event" and "Most Bets" calculated. Row D lists the Events and K lists the Profits from that bet. What formula can I do to get the most profitable event? i.e. if I've made $20 from baseball events and $5 from football events, "Most Profitable Event" should show "baseball". But I don't know what formula I need. To help I posted a screenshot of the excel sheet. http://www.freakmonger.net/imgs/bookie1.jpg

I have a younger brother who is rather arrogant and ignorant, and he is 8 years old (I think). He is very intelligent and smart, however, and probably knows quite a bit more than the average kid his age. He's really into science, experiments, how things work, etcetera. In fact, he has his own desk in the living room that is [literally] trashed with piles of garbage (of which include wires, motors, fans, screw drivers and other tools, soldering iron, etcetera). The problem occurs when he makes a mistake and fails to admit it and apologize (if necessary) to the appropriate people. The scenario here is that my car needed one of its lights replaced. He was holding the pac…

Ceiu, seriously, grow the fuck up. If you really get kicks out of insulting people on a forum for a 2d spaceship game, you have a serious fucking problem.

Just wanted to get you guys to listen to my friend's new band called Paper Tongues. Their music is very unique, mixing rock with different other melodies like hip hop, soul, funk, and electronica. There are a few songs you can check out on their MySpace, but the songs on their album are all of different styles, so it's hard to simply categorize them in 1 genre. Not to mention they are getting pretty famous with their manager Randy Jackson (the judge in American Idol). Post here if you like it or not.

While the SSC Biller was down I got bored and began thinking of a way to maybe display the status of the biller online. This led me back to an old script I had once began playing with Sockets and UDP to grab zone statuses. Well, through some reading and research I found there is some documentation over the the Server Help Wiki about the Subgame Ping Protocol. It allows you to send a timestamp, and receive a packet containing a timestamp and the current population. So essentially using this, you can determine if the zone is online, and get its current population. So thus I decided maybe a network status page was something I should add to SSO. It was in my original plans,…

I've been forced to create my own thread. I feel I've fallen to the unfortunate result of moderator abuse. I'm making this thread because my own legitimate topic was locked. It was a poll, and you jackasses edited my own poll so the whole forum could call me a retard. I feel insulted. I'm probably going to be given a warning for making this thread but you know what - I'm only making it so I don't have to post in a different thread and derail it. Either way, bringing this subject is probably going to give me yet another warning for, apparently, 'spam'. I've done nothing wrong. I've followed the guidelines. I don't understand why the moderators keep picking on me. You for…

At 10:05pm PST ( 01:05am EST ) last night the SSC Billing Server went offline. If it has crashed, or is down for maintenance is currently unknown, but attempts are being made to reach Priit and find out the status. Will keep you updated here on any changes or information. Update: Back Online as of 12:15pm PST ( 03:15pm EST )
