What ever happen to... SSC Mystic Kingdom MK used to be the best zone to play in when nothing was going on, you could kill newbies or even big boss's when the other zones were boring.. I was wondering if someone could get this up and running again? like it was before. ps I told coppercab to advertise continuum on his next rage video, sup?

Hey guys, I just started a project in minecraft to build a full scale lancaster on a pixel - block scale (the semi-HD res top down view) of the lancaster. I plan to make room and everything on interior, and exterior as well. This is on a server that is a main blog site for minecraft entirely. If this finishes, im almost positive this will be reviewed by a writer there. If im correct their site (www.crafthub.net) has like 30k views a day. Doing this might get us some traffic as well (just realized this) so anyways just wanted to throw that out there. heh.

Hoch at his best 1. Hoch announces hes shutting down DSB, effectively speeding up the population decrease ten fold. 2. Hoch makes promises to improve DSB pub, yet no improvements have been made 3. Staff uploads the new league map (Me, Dakrn, Entropy, were the major creators of this map) They call it a theme weekend - you know 3 to 5 days maximum, or basically to be uploaded in pub over the weekend. Yet the map stays up for a month effectively killing our zone population even more. Why would you keep a map up for one month, especially one that is not near finished. DSB staff seems to think theme weekends involve every weekend of the month including weekdays. 4. Hoch …

I know it is like saying the zone is a lost cause maybe to you guys, but it is possible to put it up in Chaos with the other zones as a sub-arena that can be hosted from time to time. Warzone's former players have found this a great thing as they do it weekly after premier matches and easily get some good sized games going like the old days. You'd have not only old ASWZ players, but possibly some new people interested in it. Just a thought. Saw this forum had been dead for some time, so figured I might help ya spark some interest again.

OKay, so I know a few good Java coders/programmers regularly read the forums here, so I have a quick question. This is more of a "What's the best way of doing this" question... I have a network address (192.168.192.0/24 for example) that I need to use to derive a subnet mask from, and also derive all possible valid IP addresses from (as they need to be allocated/relinquished properly). I can work out the netmasks easy enough, however the allocation of valid IP addresses is confusing me a little. The application I'm writing is Groovy/Grails (I have no choice, it's what my client uses on his servers). I've started by creating a domain class which asks the user for each…

I wasn't sure where to post this. And to whom it even concerns. Obviously it would require a big effort and consortium of people who agree and so on. But I like getting ideas out there.. So anyway I used to play Infantry and they did something unique when their population dropped. They have about 8 Zones. No Man’s Land, Combined Arms, Twin Peaks, Bug Hunt (which is Aliens) and Mechanized are some examples. Anyway what Infantry does is Alternate which ones are up. So it's hard to explain since you need to know Infantry, so I will explain in terms of Subspace. Shut down all zones except the most popular and integral ones, each offer unique game play, so keep tre…

Hi, We're looking for active coders who can code for ASSS. Preferably experienced ones, but if not and you know what you're doing then that's ok too. This is a serious project by dedicated folks, so if you want to contribute we need you to be dedicated as well. And I'm not talking about having to do 2 hours of coding a day. Just as much as you can based on gameplay needs and our minimum progress requirements. We have the vast majority of the project outlined and just need to start mixing up the map(s) with the yet-to-be-written codes. If you're able and interested in working with creative ideas, just contact Samapico or myself here or in-game. Some info: This over…

Development has been slow, but some more things have changed in SSCL Tri-Sector. The most recent change being the adjustment to the way the turf game is won. Now playing 1v1 and 2v2 games are a lot more logical to win because the amount of time you have to have the flags is accumulated! Unlike before, you had to hold the flags for a set time without losing them to win, now games can go back and forth, similar to how Trench Wars handles their flag games. Other updates include a new ship set and adjusted shrapnel settings. Visit our Web Page for more information. Thank You

I just noticed today that subspacedownloads.com is down. How long has it been like this? Is this only temporary? It would be a shame if it's down permanently because it's a great resource. Feel free to remove this thread if/when it goes back up.

Just something i was pondering about while I was reading some development forums here.. It seems that two different people are working on two different standalone clients Discretion and Phoenix...... But it puzzles me how come no one is working on a flash based game that could connect to existing and future servers.. A flash based game that could be incorporated into facebook as a game... Hell it can even be java or c++ or python.... they are all supported by facebook :S. I'm not sure of the complexity of things, ive never studied computer science/software engineering or made big programming projects, but it can't be that much more complicated than 2 different …

When you run a zone on say port 587, must port 588 be accessible also? :S What I am trying to do is set SSCV Realism Zone to run on common ports that colleges/universities do not have blocked so that it would be possible to play SubSpace within that zone. Proof that I know using this "trick" works is because I have my workstation setup to run VNC on 995 (POP3 SSL) and Minecraft on 22 (SSH) and have no problem accessing these ports at my college. I just thought it would be an awesome idea if I could somehow achieve this. FTP 21 - blocked SSH 22 - open Telnet 23 - blocked SMTP 25 - open HTTP 80 - open POP3 110 - open IMAP 143 - open SMTP SSL 587 - open POP3 SSL 995 - op…

Hey ! again some devblogging: tc and me are still working on it ^^ . I finished all the needed animations and implemented them. tc currently redoes the logic as we toggle full anims now, instead of 100eds of *objons. Looks pretty - however this causes the Zone files to be around 20 MB. ...do you think itd be acceptable for the users to download the zone files from an http mirror? About the attached screenshot: You can see the green base (spawnpoint) in the center of the circle. I redid the map so now there are only 3 Control Points. You can warp to the points you captured by moving onto 1 of the 3 portals around the spawn point - on this picture A and B are o…

Every evening SSGN's server runs a back up of itself. Lately this back up has seemed to cause issues with the directory server wanting to crash and not restart properly. After a bit of searching and reading, I was able to find out how to add it to CPanel's service monitor with auto restart. I purposely crashed it once, and CPanel "automagically" restarted it with no issues. This should now keep "sscentral.com" up and running 24/7/365 (minus DC maintenance downtimes).

Reposted from the old forum ===================================================== It's come to my attention that some players are confused about all the various ways that they can help contribute to the zone. The best way for people to contribute is to bring new people in, and help them learn the game. At this point, this is a very difficult task because the vast majority of players in the zone are vets with years of experience. New players will die many many times often without a single kill -- what fun is that? This is why more luck-oriented zones, such as Trench Wars have been successful -- shots fired at random are sure to get some kills at least. New players ne…
