It would be cool to have a thread full of historic Subspace pictures, old subspace webpages(archives?), things that remind you of when you first played this game. Preferably don't chime in if you started playing recently. <_< Also, just to clarify, don't post your life story, how or why you started playing this game, or your mother's maiden name. Only Subspace related nostalgia(VIE nostalgia encouraged)!!! Just ran across this picture that takes me way back. This picture should be familiar to you if you started playing a really long time ago.

I played as Warhammer in the original Beta and subsequent retail product. I created the squad Time Bandits, which eventually spawned Striker and then went on to create Gemini. Eventually I joined Reds as probably one of the least skilled pilots in there I attended the SubSpace convention in San Diego just after the retail launch. I worked on the first subspace fanzine co-producing a report of the first subspace convention. I'm gonna miss you guys. This forum closing is going to end an entire chapter of my life. Not many of you know or may care but to me, this game and its community were a part of my life, and it's leaving. I don't visit any other websites related to this game other than an occasional view over on the TW forums. This was my go-to viewer when I was bored. I never really posted because I didn't have anything of value to add to discussion. You guys are veterans to the backbone of this entire game's society. Happened to google about ss/cont this evening after not having played for years. Somehow figured out my password here which seems to have the old ssforum accounts. Was surprised to see a lot of familiar names had still posted here in 2014, so wanted to say hi. I was a reasonably well known map/tiles/gfx dev that contributed work to lots of places including t3g, eg, fusion, rs, ds, halo, svs, and probably some other i don't remember. We've made some progress: 1) Chaos/League now shows in the directory server listings: sscentral.sscuservers.net dirserver.ssnecentral.net ssdir.playsubspace.com You only need one of these - sometimes some of them won't show the zone - try a different one. Chaos/League is listed as SSCXX Chaos/League Zone SVS (two X's) (NOT "SSCX Chaos/League Zone SVS" - that's the old IP and shows 10 players) Double click on the zone name to add it (it will become bold and green). Hey Subspace community! Some of you may be aware of Cosmis Rift, a game veryyyy similar to this one, in fact the developers went on to develop cosmic rift and infantry shortly after subspace was released. Why am i posting this? I used to play a lot of Trench Wars back in the day, and I still have fond memories of participating in Warbird duels. The game's called Irden Core. I've only spent 48 hours on the game so far, but if there's some interest I'd be heavily tempted to continue working on it.

Hi guys this is my fav zone I was able to play the zone a week ago. Know I cant connect to the zone when i download zones it says the zone has 37 players but after i added it it turns red and wont let me connect. Is the zone down do I need to change sumthing on my system. Sry dumb ?s I have been subspace for a while but dont know anything about computers. Thx for any help in advance itching to get back in and play.

I was curious where subspace could hold a funraiser for a cause. This cause could be voted on. I don't know how far anyone would travel but if a lot of ss players could hold a ss fundraiser for a cause located where ss players could set up their laptops or pc's in a large rented location such as a clubhouse with the right plugs for electricity and above average wifi in a convention stylish way but just for subspace where newbies from local or somewhat further in the area could come and play. UPDATE: go here instead: http://www.subspace.co/topic/27570-finding-chaosleague-zone/ =========================== For anyone who can't find/get to Chaos/League Zone, here is a workaround that will absolutely work for everyone. Enter Trench Wars (yes, I know, I know!!!!) type: ?go chaos Hit the enter/return key and you'll get sent to Chaos/League Then choose an arena to go to (the one you enter will be empty) I'm not sure exactly why people aren't having success with the other methods (could be administrative privilege rights because of where the Continuum dir is), but at least this will work for everyone. --hallu

UPDATE: go here for solution: http://www.subspace.co/topic/27570-finding-chaosleague-zone/ ========================== Something has broken the normal directory download of zones so that Chaos/League doesn't install correctly. If you see Chaos/League as RED and/or having 10 players, it is pointing to the wrong IP. Here is how to fix it: 1) Close Continuum 2) Go to your Continuum directory and open up zone.dat in a text editor like notepad 3) Search for this: 66.235.184.102 4) Replace it with this: 66.36.247.83 5) Save the file Now you should see Chaos/League as green, with 20+ players and should be able to enter. --hallu P.S. working on a solution for th…
