xmas.lvl not loading

When I try to connect to a server it downloads the level file up to a about ten percent. After that the game crashes and an error says that can't download levels/Death Star Battle/xmas.lvl.

 

How can I fix this !@#$%^&* problem? I haven't played in ages so I would like to get playing soon.

 

I've encountered the "won't load continuum" problem too. I managed to get in to game window by creating a new windows user. So, could this earlier problem affect to the main problem.

The problem is that your new user does not have permissions in the Continuum directory.

 

Do you know how to give it the needed permissions? The easiest way is to make the new user an administrator - it should then have full access.

But if I create an admin account the game wont work. I've tried.

Then give the other account permissions:

 

(directions for win XP)

 

right click on the Continuum folder

select Properties

select the security tab

select "users" in the upper list

check the "write" box in the lower list (it should be the 2nd box)

click ok

 

Note: if the security tab is not visible, go to control panel->folder options->view and uncheck "simple file sharing" (it should be the last option)
