razorx Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 I started playing subspace some days ago and I had the endless loop problem in which the game process opens/closes continuosly without starting effectively. I have zonealarm+ad-aware and I haven't any trojans/worms. I found that if I start the game after my computer has been connected to the internet for a long time, it won't start, but if I reboot and start continuum just when I establish my internet connection, it always works without problems. hope it helps ,-) -Nightshade-
»SOS Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 Cool. By the way, just in case you missed it in the FAQ post, zonealarm and ad-aware might also be the causes of the problem
razorx Posted December 7, 2005 Author Report Posted December 7, 2005 (edited) Cool. By the way, just in case you missed it in the FAQ post, zonealarm and ad-aware might also be the causes of the problem np i read everyting before posting but mine was just a possible solution in order to play subspace without uninstalling the firewall/antivirus software. see you in game Edited December 7, 2005 by Nightshade X
»SOS Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 Not see you in game This problem hit me overnight. It won't run. I played a bit yesterday and then I woke up and it won't run anymore... neat
RocketGib Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 I don't think this problem is Zone Alarm related because it ran fine for a long time with ZA installed. The thing that caused it to stop working was when I reinstalled Windows. After I did that, Continuum wouldn't run anymore. The account I use has full administrator rights. IMO it could be something having to do with SP2, although I'm not going to bother testing it due to the security issues pre-SP2. I had enough fun removing the MSBLAST worm after installing a fresh copy of WinXP.
