Siaon Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 (edited) As some of you might be aware of, Hyperspace's current method of warping triggers a bug in Continuum, making bullets/bombs/etc appear ahead of the ship in the direction you're flying. This makes proper aiming nearly impossible. So I propose an item, a Warpfield Dampener, that instead of having you exit the warps with a vector (Which is the method inducing the bug), it haves you exit the warp at 0 speed. The latter option triggers no bugs at all. Edited December 1, 2005 by Siaon Quote
»D1st0rt Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 (edited) Nobody said faster than light travel was entirely safe I think the underlying problem should be fixed because travelling through with momentum is one of the key highlights of the system. Dav Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 i know it offtopic but wikipedia faster then light travel. On a side note killing the warp field still leavs you with the accual momentum you move at (be that 1kmh or 1000000kmh) because you create a fold in space and travel through it. Kill the warp field you unflod space but you are still moving at the speed you were. Quote
Siaon Posted December 8, 2005 Author Report Posted December 8, 2005 As a sidenote: The Subspace client does NOT suffer these effects. A VIP system with Subspace clients would also be excellent. Quote
Dr Brain Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 And much less likely. There are several reasons for keeping out SS clients. Major reasons (there are other, less important reasons):They'd be limited to ships 1 and 2, and would probably have a hard time shooting Lancs besides.Hypertunnels won't work, so they wouldn't be able to go between sectors. They have no access to LVZs and would be unaffected by flashbangs.Cheating would be easier than I would like.
