Meditation Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 I recently reinstalled my computer with Windows Server 2003 R2. When I double click on the Continuum icon I get a brief hourgl!@#$%^&* symbol then nothing. It worked fine on Windows XP SP2. All drivers are installed fine. Compatibility modes don't help. Any suggestions? (Yes I know servers in beta versions aren't supposed to run Cont but I'm just curious here ...)
Bargeld Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 Do you see continuum.exe in the process list?
Meditation Posted December 1, 2005 Author Report Posted December 1, 2005 Nope. I don't see it there, and as far as I can tell it doesn't get added to the list either. Extra note : This problem occurs with any profile on the computer (Admin or not)
Siaon Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Did you try a full re-download and re-install? (Uninstall first)
Meditation Posted December 1, 2005 Author Report Posted December 1, 2005 Yep. During the process I've even reinstalled Windows (to cut a long story short I couldn't get my sound card to work ... it's a bit of a weird card so decided to try reinstalling Windows ... then found out on the second install that the Windows Audio Service is deactiviated by default on install.)
»SOS Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 What other programs are running? Did you try Continuum with a completely clean install?
Meditation Posted December 1, 2005 Author Report Posted December 1, 2005 (edited) I tried installing SS pretty soon after the computer was reinstalled. I think Firefox and Thunderbird were the only other things installed at the time. S'no biggie If it don't work it don't work. Especially seeing as this is a beta version of R2 running on top of Windows Server 2003. In the long run I'll make the computer a dual boot (XP for games, Server to dev on) which should solve the problem. Thanks for trying Edited December 1, 2005 by Meditation
