Ok, so I've been playing subspace for 4-5 years now, and have never had this problem before.

When I click on my continuum icon to start the game, i get that hourgl!@#$%^&* next to my arrow, and therefore my whole comp turns really slow. If I try to end the process, it doesnt let me do that either, so the only way I can get the arrow to go away is to restart my whole computer. So, no matter what I do I cant get into continuum at all. Over like three days this problem persisted, so I decided to completely remove continuum from my computer and just re-download the whole thing. When I re-installed it and everything and tried to enter, the SAME !@#$%^&* thing happened. This is ONLY happening when I try to enter continuum, and only since the past three days. Even removing and re-installing the program had no affect.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be and how to fix it?

Thanks

Sounds like something went corrupt, but since you removed it and it still happens, the only thing I could come up with is possibly a registry key was corrupted, but that's me talking about nothing I know.

Do a couple scans with anti virus/spyware and run a registry cleaner... thats what has caused that to happen to me..

that has also happened when I installed continuum and there were other programs running. it corrupted a registry file...

just use the cleaners and that should fix the problem.

Ive had this problem ever since I got back from the Hurricane Evacuation, and have yet to resolve it, though Ive tryed spyware programs, blah blah, ive located the problem. I noticed something in my Program Files called SurfSideKick3 and it tends to mess things up. I tryed deleting it, but it says is being used by another program, so it wont delete. Ive tryed rebooting in safe mode and deleting it, nothing. And when I go to msconfig and uncheck it for startup, it somehow Re-Checks itself and automatically runs when the computer starts. Ive tryed deleting the individual files from the registry, but they automatically re-create theirselves. Ive tryed everything and nothing seems to work. Any other suggestions besides formatting?

Trained, there are a few programs on the internet that can detect the programs which are using a file. This way you can stop the program and then delete the file.

However, what you are having is probably some sort of spyware/adware/virus . I suggest using Spybot S&D or AdAware and see if these programs can help you.

Get "Process Explorer XP". It's freeware.

That'll show you every program, even stuff Task Manager does not show. And it allows you to kill every process too, unlike Task Manager.

It also has a handy "search what uses a file" feature. Guess what it does.

My #1 tool for killing viruses/spyware/anything I don't like.
