Aileron Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 I know this whole section of the forum is spam because it will never happen, but... Would it be a good idea for someone to opt to fire a lower level bomb or gun than what they have? For example, a person with L3s bombs could switch to L1s inside a base. Another example would be for someone who shoots a lot to switch to L1 guns to conserve his power.
madhaha Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 Need more buttons. Which one do we sacrifice to the weapon power control? Or should we use server commands?
Yupa Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 not server commands there are plenty of extra buttons
Trained Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 Agreed, Shift and Spacebard chould do something.
ExplodyThingy Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 Or, no.CTRL, ALT +,- to iterate levels.
madhaha Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 SHIFT = afterburners, used for burst, repels and mines.CTRL = guns, repels and used by windows for many things including CTRL + ALT + DELETEALT = used for the powerball map and already creates many problems with accidental ALT + TABbing SPACE is used in normal chat. Anything to detract from subspace chat as it is will be unacceptable as many people play purely on a social basis. +- (numpad) maybe... remember that laptops don't have numpads. With server commands you could bind them to macros which would make life fairly simple. SHIFT + LEFT or RIGHT would work but someone suggested that be used for strafe which I think makes more sense.
Fluffy White Bunny Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 + and - are on laptop keyboards. (using one now)
Yupa Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 there are plenty, to pick one now would just be a suggestion for the default keys of a suggested feature to be added if it's ever added I'm sure Priit can figure out some default keys by himself and anybody that doesn't like them can map them to something else (especially if the 'distinguish right/left' thing is fixed)
mister manners Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 I know this whole section of the forum is spam because it will never happen, but... madhaha Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 It was Priitk that brought up the "not enough keys" problem in the first place... Toggles slow down the pace of the game. You want to be able to instantly set your weapon power level like switching guns in FPS games. We don't have enough sensible keys for that.
mister manners Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 space is used in infantry, u dont normally type mister.manners> heymister.manners> hi... it would be more likemister.manners>hi but if you press any key before space, it does a space, only good for activastions like doors and all...... mabe key...nvm OFF TOPIC:my school says "Our new powerschool servers will be using SSL-128 bit Encryption. The best there is to offer" um... hey school, ever heard of hushmail's 1,000 bit mouse generated encryption??!and btw, i will be hacking the passwords(pretty easy)

And mouse generated is just as redundant as time when your seeding the numbers. Dont even get me started with you.
madhaha Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 The beauty of subspace is its IRC with a game bolted on. Having a "speak key" kills this and I'm against it being the default.
