If the firewall at your router is set correctly or isn't enabled, you can give people your server's name and they can find it in the zones list as SOS said.

A router is involved? Then port forwarding needs to be set up, yes. I forgot about that for a moment there blum.gif

 

Port forwarding really depends on the router model, so no definite help here but you can probably find all you need in the router's manual.

 

You need to forward the server port and the next port (+1) to the LAN IP address of the server computer. Both ports are UDP (in case it asks whether it is UDP or TCP).

Well. I gave my friend my IP the port im using, and the name of my zone and it aint working. So do i need to disable my firewall or what? Be cause he says that it wont connect to the server.

I dont understand all of this server stuff, im lucky i got it working with your guys' help. Ill look over your post again... see if i cant try to understand it lol. :(

 

Yeah i dont understand most of that o__o. Ill just try to fix it tomorrow
