purpleonyx Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 Is it possible to forward or mirror another zone arena? Example: Server A runs Public, Elim and DM (?go 0, ?go elim, ?go dm). Can it be configured somehow to have ?go XYZ and have XYZ be an arena in another zone? In this instance, the zones would be ran on the same physical machine. But, would like to consider methods of allowing for, lets say ?go MetalGear (because I am a freak for MG...) and it redirect to that server/zone. Theory: Can this be accomplished by adding a protocol forward such as 'ss://zonename.domain.com[:port]' to a cfg file? Another method might be having a second config file, pull lvz's from say, ..\zoneXYZ\graphics.lvz but the problem with doing this, would be its still a separate arena, and users would not be interacting across both servers. A third potential method, which may be the most practical (if theory 1 cannot be achieved), might be to run a mervbot plugin (or maybe not merv, maybe standalone exe) that runs on both zones that can handle the forwarding process. Thoughts? Feedback? Thx
Samapico Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 I don't think it is possible with the current client/server system... Long ago, there was that ?zone command to switch zones... but it doesn't work since..........since continuum? or even before that maybe... i don't know
Dr Brain Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 It's already implemented in ASSS. I'm not sure if you can redirect to a subarena in the destination zone, but I know you can redirect to another zone from an ASSS subarena.
Samapico Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 I guess the other zone needs to be ASSS too?
