problem

i can't turn on my sound in ss. If i do so in 10 mins or so the comp automatically shutsdown.... i have no idea whats wrong with it.

its only for ss, if i listen to music for example it runs fine......

 

and whats wrong with sound, its there for a reason

In this order: Try disabling 3d sound. Try updating sound drivers. Try updating directx.

if all else fails, replicate the noises yourself (like the guy in police academy.) I bet you cant do the engine hum and a thor at the same time, hence, when installing yourself, be sure to put 1/16 duplex.
