Ardeo Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 As you can see from my trace graph, I'm experiencing high packet loss via the last few servers. A bit about the system and the connect: Windows XP 64-bit64M R96001G Ram 4 MBS down, 386 KBS Up - Comcast CableWifi with excellent connection. I've disabled all firewalls, including the Windows SP2 firewall. I also have no upload/download bandwidth sapping programs running. I've even place my internal IP through the DMZ. Anyone have suggestions?SSTrace.txt
★ SOS Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Well, very little actual packetloss is showing, really. Only 1 out of 26 packets was lost to the server, so that's not very accurate. From this trace, all I can say is that the problem does not seem to be with your network or your ISP, but the server. Maybe a trace with at least 100-200 cycles could pinpoint something more. (By the way, you can ignore those 95% figures on the trace, those are inaccurate)
MonteZuma Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Yeah....more cycles would be better....but 4% ploss is high isn't it? http://img397.imageshack.us/img397/1458/4sq748349hz.gif
★ SOS Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 That 4% is very inaccurate and cannot be relied on.Trace only starts giving accurate packetloss measurements with several hundred cycles.
