Guest Guest_Box of sharp object_* Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 Im trying to test my zone, and its online, but everytime i try to go into it, it says something like "failed to connect to server. Check to make sure the server is online (it should appear yellow or green in the zone list) and that you are currently connected to the internet. If the problem persists, seek help at the tech suppport forums", and someone was telling me that i need to forward my port past the firewall or something, and i have firewall disabled, ANY help would be nice lol, ty
»Maverick Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 Post your server.ini and subbil.ini here so we can check them for errors. Make sure there is no firewall at your router blocking the ports, which most of the time gives this error message. I believe you need to have the port of your biller (and +1) and the port of your server (and +1) needs to be free and unblocked.
»SOS Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 Only server port and +1 is needed. If you use a router, you'll need to forward the port in it. How to do this depends on your router model. For server help, it's best to use the "Server help" forum that is linked from this forum. As for the problem, this is most likely due to certain networking peculiarities. What you should do is open up zone.dat in your Continuum directory with Notepad and edit the line where your zone is. Change the IP address there to 127.0.0.1 and it should work.
